Hey there! I just built my PC yesterday and I am encountering some high temps with the CPU (ranging from 42-62 degrees) while idle. I am using the stock cooler (I am still trying to figure out what cooler I want to upgrade to) and I am not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated. My specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (Wraith Prism cooler) MSI B450 Tomahawk Max G.Skill Trident Neo 32GB DDR4 3600 MSI Geforce 3080 super 6 PCCooler Halo fans Seagate baracuda 2TB HD Seagate 500 gb m.2 ssd Corsair 750w 80 gold plus PSU Fractal Design Meshify C Case

Here is my built currently https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HubbaBubba/saved/ I have no clue what to do about this except for just wiping my pc and starting fresh. I've tried malwarebytes but the scan never finishes even after a full 20 hours. I read up on it and uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn't work. So I'm stuck with this problem. Mine is running at 95%+ almost constantly especially when playing games (even the least demanding games) My one friend has almost the same build as mine and he doesn't even get over 50% Then another friend has a prebuilt gaming pc that was $500 and he gets about the same 50% The screen grab of my task manager is when I'm not playing a game and I was downloading updates But it isn't the fact of me maxing out my computer. The programs listed never add up to 99% I have taken a screen grab of it mid game and did the math and it never comes close to what it says my overall cpu usage is (also, this has been happening for a month now and I have had this build for over a year now) (also also, my RAM used to have the same problem with it being maxed but the numbers not even close to my 16GB of RAM)

Okay so lately I've been getting really high temperatures on the CPU with Prime 95 without Overclock (to check the temperatures I used RealTemp) and on full load I get 75ºC with all of my fans on max (case fans and CPU fan). What am I doing wrong?

Hello! I am a gamer like I am sure a lot of members of this forum are. I play games such as battlefield, league of legends, rainbow 6 siege. A couple of days ago we had our internet go out in our house, and ever since we have been having weird internet issues. All of the games I play have had ping/latency increase anywhere from 15-20ms. Also, when we run speed tests (tested on multiple devices), it is finding our default location (based off of ping) to be somewhere in Kansas. I am aware that some ISPs have locations in these areas and it could be what is causing this issue, but when I run a check on my location using our IP address, it gives us the correct location. Speed tests are not the only issue, where as the typical chat services I use are detecting my location to be in south/central US region (I am in Ohio). Also, when I ran a traceroute to my typical game server IPs with help from a rep at riot games, we found that my home connection was awesome; however, there were nodes causing extreme packet loss and high ping due to what we believe is improper routing/pathing/node selection(that sounds about what they were telling me). I contacted my service provider and of course they are only able to tell me that my devices is working fine since the speeds are fine. Obviously my device is fine. I have changed regions manually in certain tests and the results came back normal. I am not a networking expert, but for some reason in ALL of my games there seems to be an issue with the nodes/routes selected to reach the server, all going back to finding the incorrect location. Not sure why all of the sudden we are having these issues, but it is annoying to constantly find new ways in which this is messing my internet/gaming experience up in some way or another. My ISP is Time Warner Cable(Spectrum). I am not able to switch ISP. They have attempted to "reset my connection" and "refresh my modem's settings" among other things. None have helped. I have flushed DNS. I have cleared my host's cache. I do not have a VPN. Also, about any other response that I get has not led to a solution. The representative at Riot believes that this is on my ISP's end, but again I am no expert. I am not sure how cable internet works, but when attempting to rescue the internet after it went out, we found an ethernet cord coming from our modem/router and not connecting to anything. We were not sure if this was ever even connected to anything and it is highly unlikely that it became disconnected (since the way our cables are managed). We decided anyways to plug the cable into our cable box(the only similarly branded device with an ethernet port), and all of the sudden the internet began to work. We do not know if it is because of what we did, and we do not know if it was necessary or if it is causing our issues. When we have tried disconnecting the cable again and restarting the modem, we are incapable of getting internet access. Not sure if any of that last part is irrelevant, but I am attempting to provide as much info as possible. Hopefully someone can help me resolve my issue. Thanks!

I have an Intel i5-6500 Quad Core (3.20GHz) cpu, I have two monitors and on the one, I have task manager pulled up and even in games like rocket league, my cpu is maxed out 95-100%. My friends that bought a prebuilt system for $500 and doesn't compare to my build but yet he said he gets 50% cpu in rocket league so there has to be a problem with my cpu. I have no clue though. I did unpark my cpu awhile ago but nothing happened to it. This problem just started to be a big deal to the point of noticing just recently. Like in Rocket league, the cpu usage is about 60% and the next highest program running is 5%, then the next is 3%, then 2% so all of it doesn't add up to 100% but I still reach it and then my system lags behind. I have water cooling to my cpu. My gpu is a GTX 960 2GB. The below image is at the main menu and just running in the background

So i have no idea why, but my Memory on idle just gradually gets higher and higher until its around 95%, forcing me to have to restart my pc because my PC runs like garbage. I have 16gb of RAM and no place on the internet will reply/help me. I took pictures of my Resource Monitor and Task manager. The amount shown there does not add up to the percentage being used. Can someone finally help me? Its been bothering me for weeks with no prevail. PC Specs: CPU: Intel i7-6700k 4.0GHz GPU: GTX 970 OS: Windows 10 RAM: 2x 8GB Viper Sticks

Hi, I have an i7 7700k @ 4.5GHz and a Corsair H80i AIO liquid cooler. I am a bit confused as to why my CPU is running as hot as it is. At idle, it sits around 40 degrees and after testing under 100% load, with prime95, it gets to 80 - 85 degress after 3 - 4 minutes! Any help with this? In the bios I have it set to 1.23V and 45 mulitplier. My case also has plenty of ventilation, 2 intake fans, 2 exhaust fans and then 2 more exhaust fans on the H80i radiator.

So my PC crashed a few days ago with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. I looked it up and it seems like it might be a problem with the cpu voltage. I am running an i5-4690k 4.2 ghz at 1.175 vcore. After my computer restarted, I noticed that my fan speeds rise a lot (really audible) whenever I open anything i.e. chrome tab, chrome, any application, pretty much any possible thing you can think of. I also use corsair link 4 since I have a corsair h100i. But there are no fan control settings in there. I tried SpeedFan which was recommended by JayzTwoCents and even though I have them set to a fixed rpm, they still ramp up. Does anyone know what the problem might be? What should i do to fix this?

Hello i recently decided to water cool my PC, so i did my research and went on and bought all the kit i needed to water cool my CPU and my GPU So i bought A D5 pump a Frozen Q res and CPU, GPU Ek water blocks. I also bought two 360 radiators one 30mm thick and the other 45mm. And of course i bought proper coolant and all the proper fittings, tubing etc. I also flushed my radiators properly. I then put the fullcoverblock on the GPU and mounted the CPU block. This all went far easier than i expected lol Then it came time to start filling, so i filled the ress up a decent amount and made sure the pump (which ofc is directly under the ress) had water in it then i powered the pump alone and i heard a sharp banging noise followed by some scraping coming from the pump then it started quietly humming like i would expect. But the problem was that it didnt didnt seem to push any water D: So i then disassembled the loop and build a trial loop outside of the PC. This loop only consisting of the pump, the res and one 360 radiator, so that i could rest the pump again. So i did this and filled it up again then tried to give it power. and it appeared to push water fine, all be it, a bit slowly but i assumed it was just air in the system causing it to be that slow. Then i reassembled the loop and started filling it again, this time it went a little better as it managed with some help tilting the PC i managed to get it bleed and got most of the air out. Then i checked all my paper for leaks and luckily the was none. So i then let it go for 24 hours in order to be sure there was no leaks, and it was all fine. Then i took the PC back to its spot and plugged it all back and put it to use. Then i took a look at the temps i was getting, and it was way higher than i expected. I have the CPU idling from 40C with each core getting up to 60C randomly. The GPU was better but still idling at 40C and being stable at 40C. Then i tried Cine bench and Heaven running at the same time and it wall almost went to shit. The CPU peeked at 87C and my GPU jumped to 67C before i cut it off. These temps are all wrong right? like I have two 360s cooling these so my question is, wheather the pump has gone bad and not circleing the water fast enough to actually cool the coolant? Any help or advice from more seasoned watercoolers would be greatly appreciated.

So, something just isnt adding up with my ram usage. https://gyazo.com/abbb20df295ac67388b82d8603330cbc I only have google docs open in firefox, plus the numbers dont add up. I'd love some help, as this is ridiculous. I have 16gb of ram.

My computer was getting a bit loud so i check the task manager and see that service host: local system has high cpu usage (well not high but 30% which is a lot more than other things) and upon further investigation i found that windows update is causing this. I have ran malware bytes and it found nothing. If i go to windows update it says my device is up to date If i try to stop windows update in services it says: Windows could not stop the Windows Update service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Should i try out a different virus scan? Or any other recommendations

Greetings. I use Logitech Options to change the pointer speed of my mouse, the direction of the scroll wheel, and the function of the gesture button. I need to have this happen at Startup, which is why I have Logitech Options on Startup. However, the tool has an enormous startup impact, with no less than sixteen sub-processes, several of which are duplicates. Is this normal? Have any other MX Master users experienced this? I've already reinstalled once. Regards, Aereldor

So, I'm having an issue with windows where my ram usage is higher than I believe it should be, a lot higher. I sit at about 70% after booting, and even after dumping my ram will cause it to slowly climb back up to at least 60% over the next hour. It was at a point where it would actually hit 99%, but after fixing my pagefile from 16gb to 3 gb, it got me to where I am now. I cant find anything out of place, I dont download anything on this computer, so I couldnt have contracted some shit virus, and I cant fix it. SO any information would be great! Hey theres. So I recently built a new PC yesterday, here are my specs: EVGA GTX 1080 SC GPU i7 6700k CPU Corsair RM850X PSU Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8) RAM Asus Z170-A MOBO H100i v2 ASUS vg248qe monitor (using same hard drive and ssd's from old PC) So the problem I have is that the GPU clock speeds are really high on idle, with only chrome open. I seem to "fix" the issue several ways including lowering my monitors hertz from 144 to 60, enabling adaptive and optimal power in the nvidia control panel, reinstalling geforce drivers, disabling shadowplay, trying different GPU overclock programs, opening programs one by one to see which is causing my GPU to run high, and even disconnecting my second monitor. All of these solutions seem to work for a while, but then my clock speed returns to 1252 + up from 232. I realize this isn't a major issue but this is really frustrating, I don't want my GPU to be running at a high temp while nothing is happening. Sometimes the idle speed is completely fine when my monitor is at 144hz, and sometimes its not. Sometimes I'll open a program like spotify and it will go up to 1700 clock speed. The only thing I can chalk it down to is that windows 10 is asking to get activated since all my hardware is new except my storage drives and I think I have to purchase a key since I upgradedto windows 10 when it was free. Should I try going to windows 8.1? Thanks to whoever can help

Hi, So i have a problem about pinging to my router recently, on wireless I have a high ping spikes by pinging my laptop to the router IP. It goes lowest: 2ms Avg: 3ms highest: 2117ms And this ping spikes is very often occured. Like every 10 seconds, it happen regulary from 3ms, to 6ms, 300ms, 709ms, 1509ms, 2127ms, then stay like that for a while, and goes down after 3-5 seconds. Then it happened again after several seconds.. I thought it was my router problem, so i restarted my router. But no luck. Maybe the wifi signal. So i try to pinging my laptop close to the router / modem wifi. But the ping spikes still occured. Think that it was wifi / wireless interfirence, i tried to hook my laptop with cable directly to my modem. But the result still the same. So, at this point, it could be my Laptop. Then i borrowed my sister laptop. Surprising, the ping from my sister's laptop to the router is perfectly normal. Infact, it goes <1ms on average, no ping spikes at all, even while i tried to browsing while pinging (using -t) to the router. Still no problem, only highest at 6ms. At this point, i know the problem come from my laptop (my laptop is Acer win10, sister's Asus Win10). But i stil didnt know how to fix this ::::TL;DR:::::: It's my laptop that got a problem with slow ping response to wifi. how do i diagnose / fix this ping issue if it come from my laptop? Thank's

Even weirder, the more pixels word is using, the more cpu it will use Here's different window placement with their cpu usage Fullscreen 4k Corner 4k Fullscreen 1080p (second monitor) Corner 1080p Minimized, either monitor Does anyone already had this problem? Hi, I have a question. My i7 4790ks temps are really highOn idle, it stays around 57-58C which is totally insane. While gaming in Watch dogs 2 my cpu temp creeped up to go the mid 80s(85-87 C), while in GTA it stayed around 81-83C. The question is, WHY?I have a stock cooler, the cpu isn't overclocked or under clocked. My setup is:i7 4790k(4.0ghz), sapphire nitro+oc rx 480 4 gb.16 gb ddr3 1600mhz ram, Ocz 500W psu, Corsair force cm 500 casingAsus z97 pro mobo.Ive also just reapplied The thermal paste, and the fan is properly installed. Replacing the paste didn't improve temps by that much. The side panel is open, and have one fan installed at the back of the case for blowing hot air out.Also. My ambient temps around 28C, humidity around 83% ,precipitation around 34%.Can anyone PLEASE guide me as to what IS wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I don't suppose I can give to back to where I purchased it from since my father bought it 3 years ago, he never noticed the temps. Please, any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone got their RX Vega (Not Frontier) 64 to work under High Sierra? I could really use some help. Else, I just lost $700 on a GPU.
