I've been using Pioneer headphones for years now, however there is a few things that bug me: Soundprofile: I love how it sounds when listening to music, but since they have quite strong lows, I feel like I'm having a harder time hearing steps, shots, etc. in games. Closed back: I tend to mumble / slur words a bit when I can't hear myself talking. Pressure: I wear glassed and the Pioneers get quite uncomfortable a couple hours into a gaming session. So now I am looking for good headphones around the $100 / 100€ mark that have a more neutral sound and are open back and comfortable to wear. On reddit, many people are recommending the Philips SHP9500 as a good value choice, however that one is not available in Germany. Do you have any other recommendations for me?

I bought a new headset (Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32ohm) that im driving with the front panel audio jack in my pc, its working great so far but with some streaming sites i get this weird crackle in the audio at random moments. I've had this happen with Cruncyroll and Skyshowtime so far, but on Youtube i have no such problem. I've tried to look into it but i havent been able to find anything on it. The old headset i used was a Logitech wireless headset (G935) which didnt have this problem at all. anyone know a fix or anything i can try?

I was watching this video about VR headset accessories and during the headphone section the host mentions that the headphones he uses (SteelSeries Arctis 7P) feature the ability for simultaneous dual audio from two different sources. In his example, the headphones are wired via 3.5mm jack to the VR headset for game audio and connected via Bluetooth to his PC for Discord or music/podcast listening at the same time. When looking at the product page there is no mention of this feature, so I had the question... Is this a common function to have for headphones? If not, what other headphones on the market are capable of dual audio like this? Apologies if this is a really easy question/answer, I just don’t know much about this kind of functionality. I am thinking that a pair of headphones would be nice for my VR setup, but I don’t want to just buy these without knowing what other options there are. I understand that a mixer would easily be able to accomplish this as well, but I would like to avoid that since it's for VR. However, I am open to suggestions and stuff like that if you have and any great experience with what I am describing!

Hello everyone, I've never used a forum before as I can usually figure things out on my own. Recently though, I've had a random audio crackle/pop (just one every now and then) and for me it's unbearable knowing something's wrong. I've tried everything I can think of, going as far as replacing my MOBO thinking it was an onboard audio jack issue. I got a new case as well as I use the front audio jack for my earbuds. I also just bought new earbuds and this has not worked, the issue continues. If you have any questions please let me know. Any help is appreciated. System specs: - MSI B550 MAG TOMAHAWK - RYZEN 7 5800X3D - CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO RGB 2X16GB CL18 3600MHZ - ASUS TUF 4070TI OC - MSI MPG A850G 850W GOLD Please let me know of any other specs you'd think would matter.

Hi, *For reference I'm coming from the Sennheiser HD 58X. I'm currently driving the Hifiman Sundara's with the shiit Magni Heresy and on-board DAC.* Problem: I got Hifiman Sundara headphones a few days ago and I am pretty confused on what I am doing wrong, because for almost every song I try the headphones sound shrill and grate my ears. There is sibilance in pretty much all of the songs that have any words with "s" in them. I tried to EQ them using oratory1990 presets as a guideline and made a couple adjustments to the bass and treble from there, but I don't know if I like these headphones any better than my old ones. I noticed that the instrument separation is amazing, the detail is phenomenal and the headphones have a wider soundstage, but I don't really like it for anything other than Opera and classical/orchestral music (with and without EQ). I can't help but think the music sounds thin and lifeless compared to my HD 58Xs (at least without EQ). When I add EQ it sounds better and less grating for most songs, but I don't think I prefer it to my HD 58X. It also feels like everything is too far away from my ears and if I try putting the volume higher to feel closer to the music, the headphones sound sibilant but not closer. They also sound pretty underwhelming (compared to my HD 58X) on most songs even after EQ. Notably, the Run Lola Run soundtrack, More by KDA, and any song with bass presence sound better on my HD 58X. According to some audiophiles, the Sundaras benefit from settling in and they need time to "burn," but then some people say that's complete BS or that it's just the earpads that need time to break in. I thought maybe I'm just used to the Sennheiser's sound engineering and I do have sensitive ears when it comes to higher frequencies, so maybe I just don't like the sound EQ (even after adjusting). Worst of all the headphone clamp force is very uncomfortable and I can't wear them for more than an hour without giving me a headache. Conclusion: Am I doing something wrong? Am I driving my headphones incorrectly? Do I need a DAC to ease the sibilance? I think I might just prefer a headphone that has a more intimate soundstage. In that case it might just be better to try other headphones. If that's the case, then feel free to give me headphone recommendations close to the HD58X that don't sound sibilant and that have an intimate sound stage.

So I'm planning on getting a new pair of headphones for primarily sound design and gaming but I have trouble deciding if I should pick open back or closed back headphones. The headphones I have in mind are the Beyerdynamic Dt 700 Pro X and the Dt 900 Pro X. What are the differences between open back and closed back, which type would you choose and why?

As the title show, I am trying to decide between these three headphones to replace my old one, which was the Audeze Mobius. (my wife may or may not have taken them from me ). The main use will be a mixture of gaming, (No FPS or competitive games) watching videos & discord/team calls...but mainly gaming. I am aware that 2 of these would require a Modmic as well. The headphones will be used on PC, no console gaming, and also I should mention I do already have a GSX 1000 audio amp as well. Thanks for any assistance or advise.

Hey, everyone! I'm afraid my Steelseries Arctis 7 are dying in the left ear, so I'm looking for a new pair of headphones. I'll use them mostly for gaming, but they don't need to be gaming headphones. They do need to be over-ear, though. I'd get another pair, but they seem hard to find for a reasonable price. My budget is about 150-200 EUR, and I want them Wireless. I'm also considering something like the sony mdr-rf895rk, but the stand would need to be powered via USB, as I'm out of outlets I could use. Now for the complicated part. The way the headphones get sound is via the dongle. Normally, you just connect the dongle to the device and it gets everything it needs via USB. However, you can also connect a 3.5mm cable and get the sound that way, which is how I use it. I have it connected to a monitor, and have my PC and consoles connected to that, so that when I switch devices I already have the sound. I NEED the headphones to have a similar dongle so I can switch between them, but checking if the headphones can do it is hard to google (the successor to my headphones, the Nova 7, use a dongle that can't do that afaik). Any help is appreciated!

Planning on buying new headphones, as i only have half broken HyperX's right now. The Drop Hifiman HE-4X have caught my eye. Good price, and good reviews. But how is the sound in your experience? Is it suitable for gaming AND music? What about the soundstage? Mainly... CAN I RUN THE HEADPHONES WITHOUT AN AMP/DAC? My Motherboard: Z390-A PRO Im seeing mixed opinions on the conversation of "to amp or not to amp" these headphones, and i dont want to waste the same amount if not more money on an amp if its not needed. Any reply will help! Thank you!

Is there any reason headset mics haven't had a lot of development over the past few years? They're super convenient and seem like they have potential It might not be the size, pretty sure there are phone mics better than headsets, and those aren't too big if I recall It could be price, but I don't know the average price of mic components Maybe they're difficult to work with? My current theory is that they're too niche in the world of audio to be considered something to dig into. What do you guys think?

Looking for some "ear clip" style headphones (something like these https://www.66audio.com/sport/buy) for use at the gym. I have tried the 66 audio and they have really good battery life but the controls are wonky (it would make sense to have volume up at the top while skip forward would be at the front etc) and the audio and Bluetooth quality is pretty bad. Currently I am using a pair of Koss KSC35 which have great audio (compared the 66 audio) but the battery life is really awful. Things I am looking for is great battery life, ear clip style (no in ear style as they don't suite me ears), Bluetooth, good audio and water resistant.

As title says, these cans (120 ohms) sound boomy and really bass boosted on my lbt-n455, also all dsp in the receiver is off. BUT when I connect them simultaneously (in what I assume is a parallel connection) with a pair of cans (marshall major 3) they sound natural but also still loud as heck, the marshall are 32 ohms btw. Any input on this?

Been looking for high quality and affordable (~< €200) headphones for quite a while, but with specific features such as: - Absolutely no leather or pleather that disintegrates over time - Breathable fabric cushions - Spacious fit around the ears - Don't create bad pressure points My ears start to hurt and sweat a lot after prolonged wear, so soft earpads and minimal weight is definitely a must. Don't need perfect seal, noise cancelling or any of that. I'm willing to give up some sound quality for better ergonomics and build quality. I also prefer flat neutral sound that works for everything from gaming to professional creative work. Most of the Sennheiser HD series seem to fit the requirements and I often see them highly recommended. The biggest potential issue I see with open backs is that I use a condenser mic for VoIP, gaming and streaming, and leakage is a concern since my current HyperX Cloud Alpha sometimes leaks mids and treble at high volume (which I have set very rarely). I'm open to hearing a second opinion on that. Right now I can get the HD 560S for ~$160/€150 from local retailers or the new HD 6XX for ~$230/€215 from drop.com. Prices are converted at the time of writing. Are these good value and is it worth the extra ~$70/€65 for the HD 6XX? If there are other options available in Europe around that price that fit the requirements I'll consider them too.

I need an upgrade/sidegrade alternative to the Philips SHP9500 for fps gaming, music and video editing for $100 usd (can go a little over) with a removable cable. Can anyone recommend me something with music playback quality similar but with better imaging for footstep audio in game? The Philips are struggling with audio positioning in game and the ear cups are falling apart after years of owning them. I have big-ish ears that barely fit into something like a SENNHEISER HD 559 for example but the SHP9500's are very spacious so anything bigger might be too big.

Title says it all but more details below. my headset has a trrs plug. The headset i currently use i use a splitter and it works. however, i plan on upgrading and the cases i like don’t have 2 ports.(separate audio in and out) i don’t want to plug it into the motherboard as that will put more tension on the cord. i use realtek for my audio driver thingy. i don’t know if it’s a case problem or something else but am wondering if there’s a way to get both mic and audio to work through the single plug without the splitter.

Hello, my girlfriend recently got her hands on some Sony WH-XB910N headphones and sometimes she issues them on her (2017?) MacBook Air. However things have not been very easy as we’ve encountered an issue we cannot find anywhere else. Whenever she uses the headphones she has to open the settings, go to audio, and then to input to hear sound from the MacBook. What I assume is supposed to happen is she’s supposed to hear her microphone playback through the speakers to test the mic, however instead of that happening, she is actually able to hear the audio output, but it’s much lower quality than it should be. This only happens on hee MacBook, tested on other MacBooks and laptops and this problem doesn’t happen at all. I cannot find a solution to this problem, and my last idea left is to hard reset the MacBook. but she’s not very tech savvy so doing that will take a day or two. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my current DT 770 Pros. I have a SBX G6 external soundcard to go with it. For me, this sounds amazing, but I haven't had anything else to really compare it to as I've owned and only used these since 2017(Got the SBX a year or 2 ago). However, I may have dropped them one too many times and the left ear has gone out on me. So, I am looking to upgrade, I have done a good bit research, but I am a bit torn as to what I would want. I have a budget of $1000, and a microphone is not required as I have a standalone setup for that. I do like bass but nothing that overpowers everything else. Decent treble would be great as well as it helps with footsteps/quieter noises (I play some Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown). I play a lot of RPG games, so listening to music within game is pleasant but listening to in-game effects like I am in a cinema is great. I listen to music every now and then but watch a lot of content creators on YouTube. Closed back vs open back. There are a ton more open back options in the mid to high range vs closed back. I don't have anyone near me, the only feedback I hear are my mechanical keyboard which I do not mind, and my portable AC unit on the other side of my room. Which don't bother me even when my headphones off so not worried about having open back headphones. The options I have been looking at for open backs are as followed: Sennheiser 660s Sennheiser 660S2 Sennheiser 650 Sennheiser 6xx Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X Options for closed backs: Beyerdynamic 770 (just replace mine) Beyerdynamic 700 Pro X Beyerdynamic 1770 Pro AMP/DAC: I've looked at the SCHIIT Hel 2E. Is it worth upgrading over the SXB G6? Or continue to use what I am currently using. As mentioned above, budget is $1000 or less. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm having a very specific issue with my headphones, an issue that to be honest i couldn't find anywhere and I'm trying to see if someone could help me, this was my first option since I've seen several issues resolved with this forum specifically. TL;DR, A tiny sensor in my microphone from said headset just stopped working, making the microphone completely useless, in the attached photo I'm showing the specific part thats the sensor and I need a solution to see whether I can fix it or just bypass it, I'm no engineer in any degree I just like to disassemble stuff and wiggle things to try fix them, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, in this case I don't wanna fuck up anything since I'm kind of a tight spot economically and that's why I wanna fix this. Hello, I am a newbie to Audiophile gear and wanna break out with some new stuff. I do have some questions tho. So far, I have been looking into getting some Sennheiser HD650/HD600 (I am still determining) and either the JDS Atom stack or Schitt Magni/Modi. Could I mix two inputs on these Dacs? I stream a lot, and combining Inputs from my computer and PS5 is vital to me. Is mixing inputs something the amp or DAC would do? If so, do all units have that functionality? The second question is, would running a Y-spit from the output on the Amp lessen my quality? I would need to split so I can run my Playstation audio game to my Capture card (Because PS5 still does not support dual sound output, and running audio through the card reduces its $hit quality), and would there be any danger to running powered output to my card? If you have any gear advice or suggestions, that would be great too Thank you all so much for any information you can give.

I have been using this pair of MH751s for almost 2 years now and recently the Right arm connecting to the Right earcup broke. The audio connection still works but the cup isn't joined to the headband. Ive tried super glue but it doenst hold up very well. Is there any other Possible fix? In the photo below you can see on the Left side that a screw holds the earcup and the headband together As you can see there's supposed to be some kind of plastic filling/gob that holds it all together In the right earcup that gob is gone Is it possible to use something like putty or something to repair this or is my headhones gone for good?

I'm in the market for a new gaming and recording headset and I'm torn between the Corsair HS60 Pro and the Corsair HS50 Pro. I've read many reviews and they both seem to have their pros and cons, but I'm a bit of a bass head and I want to make sure I choose the headphone with the most bass. I'm looking for a headset that can provide clear and immersive audio for gaming and recording without sacrificing comfort during long sessions. Has anyone had experience with both the Corsair HS60 Pro and the Corsair HS50 Pro and can offer some insight on which one has a better bass response? Or is there another headset that would better suit my needs? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey guys, What is everyone’s opinion on the SteelSeries Nova Pro? Ive heard some good things about them and personally I like SteelSeries headsets. Currently have a 4 year old Arctis 5 so Im just looking for a upgrade as this headset is at the end of its life.
