Hi guys, I was just wondering if the psu has anything to do with a multi monitor setup, since they're all connected to the gpu, which in turn, the psu. Ive attached a video above, but whenever i have all 4 monitors connected, my monitors start freaking out. But the moment I unplug the 4th it works perfectly fine. All of my monitors are connected to my gigabyte windforce gtx960, all of them with hdmi adapters because I didnt have DP cables towards the gpu, and hdmi to dvi adapters towards the monitors I currently am using a 10 year old FSP raider RA650, is that still usable for this setup? Since i cant upload the video because its over 20mb, ive attached the video link on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/s/nlKzK42uay

Hi to you reading this, i have a problem i need help with. I have a GTX 960 2GB that was given to me by a friend, together with an i7-2600k, a 450W PS, 16GB of ram, a motherboard, a case, and a few fans, I installed those in my own motherboard and started Valorant, my frame rate before was not great, but it was playable and stable, now with the new components, I can't figure out why, but the frame rate is all over the place, it's not stable at all and it's under-performing comparing to the experiences my friend had with the same rig, I mainly play valorant and that should be a game this computer can handle just fine, but no, just standing has the framerate going from 90 to 40 every 3 seconds, and when people shoot me, the game freezes for instances, after some research, i found out something must be bottlenecked, I reinstalled my old core i5-2500 and indeed the game played out better, but the FPS were still unstable, and players shooting or even me shooting, still caused the FPS to lower, anyway my friend didn't have any of this issues before. I play at 900p 75Hz (Monitor is 1080p75hz) with FPS lock in-game at 73fps and still the game is not stable, my motherboard is cheap, but i used it because my motherboard used a different cable the PSU had support to, my friend had to use an adapter, so i preferred to use my motherboard who had a normal (i think it was a 6 pin connector) and fitting connector completely supported by the PSU instead of using the adapter to use the motherboard he gave me, so... should i install the motherboard he gave me with the adapter, maybe it is my motherboard causing this, or is this a lost cause? I only have enough thermal paste for another application and I wanted to be sure if it's worth changing the motherboard and installing the i7-2600K. will it make a difference?

I'm having a problem with my EVGA Geforce GTX 960 2GB. GTA V starts, but when I load in the game, the screen goes black and my computer restarts. I'm having this problem with GTA V, the rest of the games I own run fine. I've tried a lot of things like, downloading older drivers, use lower settings, but nothing seems to work. I've tried everything I read on various sites like Reddit. I've never had any problems with my AMD RX550 2GB. I've bought this GPU secondhand so, I don't have any warranty. Specs: Dell Optiplex 9020 Processor: Intel Core i5 4590 GPU: EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2GB PSU: Corsair VS450 RAM: 20GB DDR3 (changing the sticks doesn't have any effect) Storage: Kingston 240GB SSD, 320GB WD Green, 240GB Toshiba hard drive. Hello, I am running the following system: CPU: AMD FX-6350 MoBo: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4 GB SSC ACX 2.0+ PSU: EVGA GS 550 W RAM: Hyper X Fury 2 x 8GB - DDR3-1866 CL10 I moved my tower the other day to clean off my desk, and when I plugged my system back in, it would not even turn on. The LEDs on my fans will flash on for just a moment and the fans will very briefly spin. I have already done the following troubleshooting steps: Tested my existing PSU with a jumper -- PSU fan spins up. Replaced the existing PSU with a new one -- Same issue with powering on/flashing LEDs & fans. Replaced CMOS coin cell battery. I am starting to get the feeling that my motherboard or CPU is dead, but I wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

I have been looking at the GTX 960 2GB as my previous card is the GT 610 1GB and it is rubbish. I can't really extend my budget as I have no money but I need a upgrade. Any suggestions?

This is my first ever post, but I can not find anything to help with my problem. Basically I’m fixing (trying to) a friends PC and I’m getting very weird reactions from the GPU. The gpu will not display anything when all set up normally, but if I follow a very weird sequence of operations it will work fine until I turn the pc off. M/B is a dell proprietary one I took from a prebuilt I had laying around. cpu i5 - 4460 16gb of ddr3 ram evga gtx 960 (the problem?) seasonic power supply So the sequence I have to follow to get the gpu to display like normal is as follows: 1) unplug 8 pin from gpu 2) turn on pc for 10secs with no power cable in gpu 3) kill power on back of power supply with switch. 4) plug 8 pin into gpu 5) turn pc on and poof it works all of a sudden. I’m trying to fix this before modding his case to fit a R9 390 I’ve got laying around. any help is appreciated!

Hello, I'm thinking about upgrading my gtx 960 4GB. I don't want to spend a fortune on a new card. I have been looking at the RX 6600 which I have found for a fairly good price. Would this card be a good upgrade? My motherboard (b450-f gaming) is PCIe gen 3 x16 would that be a problem as the RX 6600 is PCIe gen 4? Thanks in advance for any answers

Hello everyone ! So, i'v got GTX 960 and a 500w PSU, when i bought the card about a year ago, it was working fine, i was playng games with fairly good perfomance but one day i decided to overcklock it, and hit the ceiling and perfomance declined, i reseted everything but never regained the perfomance i was getting at one point. it has been like that ever since but after long time, i decided to fix the problem, i've deleted the MSI afterboorner, cleaned the card, installed the new windows but the problem remains. i've checked it with, once again, MSI AB and it says that there's a voltage limit, and the card stays very cool even when it's 100% underloa. i've set my windows to perfomance mode, in NVIDEA cp on power managment mode it's set to maxumum perfomance as well. with MSI afterboorner i've clocked core voltage with 100+ and power limit is set to 110, but nothing has changed. So can any one of you help me with the problem, or has any of you ever've been in the same situation ??

Dear Readers of this topic, Since i've used Hardware monitor (HW) I get wierd GPU clocks displayed. I launched HW before i played overwatch. After I stopped playing the clocks were the same at MAX and MIN. The are also really low. (See picture). I couldn't find simmilar problems on the internet. Maybe some of you know how to fix this. Thanks in advance, Greetings, Gijs PC specs: GPU: MSI GTX 960 4g @ 1215MHz (used Afterburner for this) CPU: AMD FX8350 16GB of RAM

Hi Guys So I've been running my old GTX960 2GB on my 6600k for around the past year and a bit. After getting a slight windfall and noticing the little stutters when playing the bigger titles, I figured I may upgrade the GPU for some better FPS and quality. So basically, long story short, do I get myself a RX580 8GB or save a little more for the GTX1070/1080? Other than that, would it be a better idea to just hold off completely and wait and see how AMD Vega and Nvidia Volta look? I mean, for now, if I had to, I really could use the 960 for a little longer even though I know I'll need to turn everything down. Thanks for the help

So I recently upgraded from a GTX960 to a GTX1070 and experienced a problem, the FPS performance is the same. I don't know what the problem is and don't know what to do. My friends and I ran a few benchmarks to test it out and everything seemed normal. The problem is for example, my Counter Strike Global Offensive game ran on about 180-220FPS with the GTX960, and the same results yield with the GTX1070. ARMA 3 at ULTRA graphics settings consistanly runs at about 40-50FPS with the GTX1070 which I believe it should be running at 100fps+ at a minimum? Even on Minecraft, my fps would not go past 140. Could it be my CPU not working properly? I highly doubt it's the new GPU that is the problem. There is also nothing blocking the air flow. Motherboard: MSI Z97S CPU: Intel core i7-4790K Video Card: EVGA GTX1070(superclocked) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Power Supply: Rosewill 500W Monitor: Asus VG248QE (144hz) Overall I just want to know a way to confirm that the performance on the GTX1070 is better than the GTX960 on my setup. So far, it doesn't seem like it and it feels like something is holding it back. Is there anything I can do?

Hi guys, this is my first post on LTT. I rarely have issues with my PC but now that I have one I could only think of one place to ask for help! Recently I have been having issues with what I believe is driver problems for my GTX960. I first noticed it with Youtube where I would be skipping through a video and then the video would hang, no big deal, just refresh the page and carry on from where I left off. Bare in mind I am currently running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview. But now it is much more present. Last night I powered on my machine, went to log into the front end gui of my FreeNAS machine and the page didn't load. Then I attempted to load Plex, still nothing. I checked Facebook and Youtube, no problems only for the usual Youtube video freezing when I skip through. This was all done in the Chrome browser. I then proceeded to try Firefox and FF wouldn't even load Google. VLC player also drops frames every 10 or so mins when playing a movie. This is where it gets weird, the first thing I though of was the graphics driver so I saw I was running the version 373.06. A newer 375.95 version so I opened GeForce Experience and went to download it, when it got to 100%, it would throw an error "Download has Failed". Ok, so then I downloaded the driver manually from Nvidia, when I went to run it, straight away it threw the error "Nvidia Package Manger has stopped working". I tried different compatibility versions and also running as admin. I even tried downloading the Windows 7 version and still nothing. I also did this for an older 372.90 driver, same thing. I manually uninstalled my current driver, and when I restarted my machine, Windows Update automatically installed the driver 372.90. Still seeing the same symptoms. I have no idea where to go from here and I really don't want to do a complete Windows 10 reinstall. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Hi, I am having an issue with my GTX 960 2G card output failing. As a little background information, before this situation came up I tried to start my computer for the first time in a week, the last time I used it I put it in sleep mode. When I tried to start the computer nothing would happen. During troubleshooting, I checked the PSU, checked all connections of the power switch to the motherboard and finally removed the CMOS battery and that had solved the issue. After that issue was resolved I didn't get a chance until three days later to run it again. After I booted it up, I updated some games on steam and a couple standalone games I have, then I went on to start up a game. The game started up fine, however, I realized I did not have the audio output to my headphones, so I exited out of the game, changed the audio output and restarted the game. It got to the load progress screen and the screen went black and I heard a caution box come up but I couldn't read it. I restarted the computer and in 5 minutes the same thing happened. I looked at my GPU and noticed the LED's were on but the fans were not spinning. I rebooted the CPU again and again the same thing happened. I rebooted a third time and updated the Nvidia drivers yet it happened again. I left it for a day to do some research and found nothing. Tonight I booted into the BIOS to see if resetting the CMOS affected something and it quit on me again. I tried to boot back to windows and it quit before I got to the windows load screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Computer specs: MSI Z170A M5 Gaming Motherboard MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2G GPU 8Gb Ram Intel i5 CPU Windows 7 64bit OS

Hey guys, so I've had the same system for almost 4 years now. i5-4670k @ 3.8Ghz (boost to 4) 16GB of ram, 600W PSU, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GTX 960 4GB. Since i've started playing GTA V again in the past few months, I've noticed that the game performance a lot worse than it used to be, a year or so ago it ran perfectly on very high settings, now my CPU usage is pinned at 100% constantly while playing. My friend has a GTX 1080 and an i7-4790k which is pretty much the same as my CPU only with hyperthreading and a slightly faster clock speed, so he disabled HT and underclocked his CPU to 3.8 so it was the same as mine and we did the same tests on GTA V. His CPU ran at 90-100% while mine was still at 100%. With HT enabled, he runs at around 60%. Both were running at 1080p, his graphics settings were also higher than mine. Is my quad core i5 really not good enough for GTA V? Does GTA really need more than 4 cores to run optimally? Rockstar recommend a quad core i5-3470 @ 3.2GHz but i'm fairly certain my cpu is way better than that and is apparently not good enough. Has anyone got any suggestions as to whats going on? Is my system just performing abnormally or is it time to say goodbye to the i5? Also would be great to here from anyone else who has a similar CPU about their performance.

Anyone ever have a Maxwell card crash randomly in game under full load for no reason, this card does it in every game eventually, like 30 minutes to an hour ish. I've tried everything I know of just short of throwing it out the window. I've used GPU-Z to monitor what was going on at the time of the crash and the GPU wont clock back down from max unless I disable it in device manager or hard boot the PC. I'm interested to see if anyone can think of anything I haven't already tried

Hello Guys, i have a question for ya. I have a really good Computer with a i7-6700/16GB RAM/3TB HDD/H110M-S2H AND A GTX 960 4GB Does it make a sense for me, to change my GTX 960 4GB to GTX 780 Ti Why do i ask for this? Well i saw a few Benchmarks on YouTube. And self saw Benchmark on Benchmarklab.com I also know that GTX 780ti is older. This is also why i ask for this. Do you guys think this is a good idea? Even tho modern games uses more and more VRAM and GTX 780ti has only 3GB/VRAM. But my GTX 960 has 4GB. Cause i have the better (4GB) version of it.

It sounds Stupid and probably is, i had this card 2 years and the warranty HAS JUST GONE (TRIGGERED), and now it has started to make the most awful sound, as shown in the video, it happens when playing any game, and gets worse as resolution increases the graphics card (Asus GTX 960) never exceeded 70 degrees and when it did the fans would full throttle (speed-fan) its not the GPU and it stops when not under load (not the fans) please help... In OC mode (factory) and No OC Mode Makes The same noise (Factory Overclocked), I did force V sync on and OFF and the noise did occur... Video Link: Sorry if in wrong place "New around These Parts"

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting something on this forum, I recently got a new PC, with a GTX 960 2GB (MSI Variant) and I decided to overclock it today. I was wondering, if these settings are good, and do I void the warranty by overclocking it? The temps don't seem to get abnormal, They peek out at about 70C I believe.

Herro everyone. Ubisoft is giving AC3 free, thought I'd play the story a 3rd time. I'm using a GTX 960 2GB at 1.2 Ghz or so AMD fx 8350 4gb ram I can play Rise of the Tomb Raider near Ultra at a good 45-50 fps 1080p However I'm having an issue where I'm not getting as much FPS as I should. The performance was awful In Assassin's Creed 3, until I noticed in Nvidia's Control Panel that v-sync was on. I removed it and performance was slightly better In Boston I'm getting a mere 30-35 fps when moving though the crowds. As you can see in the screenshot below. In other isolated places it's around 50-55 or so on average (eyeballin) My m8 who has a similar card gets almost twice the amount of fps I have and we have similar rigs, he has an i7 4770. Also in this video you can see how the game is meant to perform on the same card, can someone tell me what's up or any advice on how to fix this? Playing on the same settings as the video. I've been using my gtx960 for about a year now but recently i noticed that the card was trying hard (and i mean really, hard) to stay below 40'c. so the fan is so loud even when it is not under too much load. i dont remember overclocking anything, and in case the nzxt cam software affected it, i turned that off too, but it didnt help. can anyone tell me how to fix this?

So I want to watch a movie on my tv, but the hdmi port on my gtx960 won't work? its worked before but all of the sudden it stopped working i already have two displays plugged in (one dvi-vga and one dp-vga), but that shouldn't be a problem since it worked before while the other two monitors were plugged in... doe's anyone have an idea on whats happened? thanks, Andrew
