I have this currently (profile is outdated because I am lazy) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/halogeek52%40gmail.com/saved/cdMmP6. I am getting a FREE GTX 780 from Nvidia because the 960 died. I will have $800 then. Do I get a 4790k now and another 780 (and new PSU)? Or sell the 780 for a 970 and get two of those? Should I wait until the new desktop Intel processors and get that with either another 780 or 970 SLI. Thanks, Covert.

I'm looking for a good aftermarket cooler for this card ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5, at least one the fans has stopped working and the other one sounded like it was on the way out too, Asus wont replace them and I cant find any replacements for a reasonable price online. I've found these two options but I want to know if there is anything better out there, budgets about $90 and I want to stick to air or AIO for now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186068&cm_re=Accelero_Xtreme_III-_-35-186-068-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186095

This is a long story, but I will try to sum it up as best I can. I been dealing with this issue for 3 months now (originally with a gtx 780) and I want to know if anyone knows how to fix it. I have contacted nvidia and majority of what they said I should do I already did or I had the hardware replaced. So, they told me to contact EVGA for a replacement and they sent me a gtx 970 FTW instead. I've done a complete reinstall of the drivers, I've done a clean install of the drivers, I've done a clean install of the drivers in safe mode, I've done a virus removal, I've replaced my motherboard, cpu, gpu, and psu, I've disabled Intel HD Graphics, I've disabled hardware acceleration in chrome, I've brought up the voltage a little on my gpu, I've removed all my overclocks and I have even reinstalled windows. Where my drivers crash: Youtube (about 10), 1 of my games (can't remember which game, but it only happened once), and 3DMark (6-10 times) My Specs: Intel Core i7 4790K Gigabyte G1 Sniper.M5 16GBs Corsair Vengeance Low Profile EVGA GTX 970 FTW Corsair 750M (x1) 240gb Silcon SSD (x1) 3TB Western Digital Black (x1) 3TB Seagate Barracuda Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I just killed my r9 290x (the geto mod for a aio (uneven pressure which cracked the gpu die)) I can get another one for 200$ or I can get a gtx 770 for the same price and for an extra 75 I can get a gtx 780. my plans are to go 4k eventually (sometime soon) and was wondering which of the cards I should get because everything else is basically out of my price range

I want to flash a custom Bios on my Evga 780 sc acx to get the fan speed lower than 39%. I found this one and all the Bios Data in GPU-Z fit, but I'm not sure whether it's trustworthy. Also, I can somehow get 1312mV out of my card on the stock bios, even though 1,2v should be the limit...? My Bios: 80:10:36:00:80(P2083-0020) Thx for answers/tips

I have a GTX 780 3GB Graphics card and i am considering buying another with an SLI configuration. this is my current setup: Case - Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus Midi Tower Power Supply - Silver Power SP-S850 850W PSU Motherboard - ASUS P9X79 LE, Socket-2011 CPU - Intel® Core i7-3820 Processor (Socket-LGA2011, Quad Core, 3.6GHz, 10MB, 130W) RAM - Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 16GB KIT Graphics Card - ZOTAC GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA Let me know if further info is needed. My hope is that I will get better preformance in games. I mainly play games like Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed, Show of Mordor, Skyrim etc. I do some video editing but that's not a priority. I really long for smooth 60 fps, not as jaggy as it is now. My main question is if i will experience any preformance boost if i install another GTX 780. Or will it be bottlenecked by the rest of the setup? Is it just better to switch it out for a GTX 980 or equivelant? Any suggestions? I am a fairly unexperienced builder, but am willing to learn.

I have an extra GTX 780, but I can't sell it because it's going to be used in my brother's upcoming rig.. However, my brother probably isn't going to be actually building his rig for a couple months, so I'm not entirely sure what I should do with the 780. I guess the most responsible thing to do would be to repackage it in its box, put it in my closet, and wait for my brother to start accumulating the other components for his build.. However, I have an empty x8 slot on my motherboard and extra headroom from my PSU, so is it worth it to slap the 780 in as a physx card (or extra cuda acceleration for other stuff/etc)? Or does anyone have any other ideas of what to do with an extra GPU that I can't sell? Bonus question: Is there any performance difference to having two different displays being driven by two different GPUs?

I currently have a gtx 780 and was wondering if I could sell my gtx 780 to buy a gtx 780. Is it worth it? And how much would I be able to sell it for?

Should I get a GTX 780 posideon for 360 or a GTX 970 and add a water block? And for the 970 should I get a reference or non reference, do the block prices vary? And will a reference backplate work with an EK block? I do have a 970 AMP! Extreme now but I'm not satisfied with it so I'm selling it. Thanks so much for any help.

As the title describes, i'm looking to get a new GPU and not entirely sure which one to buy. Both cards are similarly prices and give a similar performance, but i'm still not sure what to buy. I do realise the 780 only has 3gb GDDR5 and the 970 has 4gb, as well as a slight better core clock on the 970, but they are so similarly priced and i want to know which will be the best for 1080p gaming as I will not be changing from that in the near future. Any replies would be much appreciated and thanks in advance. EDIT: Thanks for the replies, now what should I go with EVGA ACX, EVGA SC ACX 2 or ASUS STRIX. I dont think ill go with any other brands other than EVGA or ASUS as I trust them completely.

Dual SLI my old GTX 780, or sell it, get a SLI GTX 970?
danialzaidi posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello guys, ok so now I currently have one GTX 780 and looking forward to set up a SLI configuration of the 780 after I get the used 780 from someone. So I was thinking is it worth it if I sell my GTX 780 and and get two GTX 970? I'm a bit worried if the 3Gb Vram from the 780 is not enough for the upcoming games. Im only gaming with a 1080p monitor by the way, 60hz. Thanks! -
I've been overclocking my GTX780 reference and noticed an odd trend when not under load. It seems as though Precision is reading substantially higher voltage than I've got enabled. It's currently set to 1.212v with a clock speed of 1200MHz and +520MHz on the memory. Real time monitoring with precision shows it reading upwards of 1.225v when idle. As soon as load is applied it runs at the designated 1.212v. I am not concerned with the heat, as I am water cooled with a full cover block. I am concerned that the overvolting could potentially damage the chip. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? I am overclocking using the latest version of EVGA PrecisionX Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I'm doing my first watercooling build today and I just have some questions about prep and future expansion of my loop. For now I'm just going to be watercooling my CPU but I plan on expanding my loop to include dual (and possibly triple) graphics cards in the future. I'm using an Enthoo Primo case with a Corsair AF140 for the rear fan so I can reuse the 3 non led 140mm fans the case comes with on the top 140mm radiator I'm going to install. So my questions are: -The tubing comes with the prep additive and how should I use that? Do I build the entire loop and fill it with distilled water and add the sys prep to it so it runs through all the components then drain the liquid and refill it with clean distilled water and add the biocidal agent? or is there an easier way to do this? -In the future I would like to expand my loop to include CPU, 3 GPUs and Motherboard and have everything overclocked and running silent. I would like to know how much radiator space I would require to keep a full loop like that running overclocked and silent. Right now I'll only have a 420mm rad on top but what other rad combos should I use for my future expansion? This case has a lot of room and options for watercooling so I want to make sure I'm getting the best cooling possible to run a system like that. The heat it would generate would be similar to an overclocked i7 5820k, 3 overclocked GTX 780s and a motherboard with waterblocks on it. The parts I ordered for my current loop are these: Monsoon Series Two Premium D5 Dual Bay Resevoir http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19676/ex-res-490/Monsoon_Series_Two_Premium_D5_MCP655_Dual_Bay_Reservoir_w_Quick_Change_LED_Control_-_Matte_Black_w_Black_Trim_M2-D5P-MB.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=149 Laing D5T Basic pump Swifttech Lok-Seal Compression Fittings - 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD for the rad and block http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15908/ex-tub-1290/Swiftech_Lok-Seal_Compression_Fitting_G14_Thread_-_12_ID_x_34_OD_-_Black_3-4X1-2-G1-4-CF-BK.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=150 PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Tubing - 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD - Red http://www.frozencpu.com/products/17888/ex-tub-1622/PrimoChill_PrimoFlex_Advanced_LRT_Tubing_12ID_x_34_OD_-_10ft_Retail_Pack_-_Bloodshed_Red_PFLEXA10-34-R_w_Free_Sys_Prep.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=151 Alphacool NexXxos UT60 140mm Radiator http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16826/ex-rad-427/Alphacool_NexXxoS_UT60_Full_Copper_Triple_140mm_Radiator.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=152 Phanteks 140mm fans (PH-F140SP_BK) http://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-140mm-Cooling-Fan-PH-F140SP_BK/dp/B00E9NZV4Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1416250384&sr=1-1&keywords=phanteks+140mm Bitspower Black Sparkle Barb Fittings - 1/2" ID for dual bay res (I got these since I wouldn't be able to see the fittings once they are installed in the bay res and could save money there) http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7612/ex-tub-315/Bitspower_Black_Sparkle_G14_Barb_Fitting_-_12_ID_BP-BSWP-C01.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=153 EK Supremacy EVO CPU block http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19629/ex-blc-1443/EK_Supremacy_EVO_Universal_CPU_Liquid_Cooling_Block_-_Acetal_EK-Supremacy_EVO_-_Acetal.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=154 I'm going to use distilled water so I got a IandH Dead-Water biocidal additive http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11744/ex-liq-154/IandH_Dead-Water_Copper_Sulfate_Biocidal_PC_Coolant_Additive_-_15_mL.html?id=spYhPTsg&mv_pc=155

Hi. I'm in the process of overclocking my GPU's and I have notised that the reported clockspeed in MSI afterburner and Unigine Valley is very different (see picture). This makes it hard for me to know my actual clockspeed. My cards are MSI Twin Forzr OC edition gtx 780s. Details: The offset i put in to MSI afterburner is 159 MHz, and the cards base clock ("OC mode") is 1241 MHz, and 1241MHz + 159MHz = 1400MHz whitch you can see is what Unigine Valley is showing. MSI Afterburner is however showing 1202 MHZ. I have also notised that MSI Afterburner is showing different clockspeeds in different games, but I think its normal for clockspeeds to differ from game to game, or is it? Can anyone answer how I can measure my true clockspeed and if it's afterburner or Unigine thats faulty? Summary: MSI Afterburner and Unigine Valley are showing different clockspeeds (picture), help!

Hi guys and girls, I've recently built my first gaming PC and it's got a Zotac 3Gb GTX 780 GPU, and typically, a mere week after I built it Nvidia announced the GTX 970/980 cards! I play games like Borderlands, Arkham series, and most recently Shadow of Mordor...... Which as you'll no doubt be aware has an HD texture pack. I'd really like to run those textures but the 780 just doesn't cut it! I've been looking at upgrading the card (Yep, already) to the MSI 4Gb GTX 980, but I'm not totally sure on a couple of things..... 1) I know the SoM texture pack is meant to require a 6Gb card, but isn't that requirement based on older cards PRE-970/980? Will the 980 be able to run it without any issues? 2) Does the MSI GTX 980 need more a more powerful power supply than what I'm running, which is a 600w BeQuiet PURE? Thanks for any and all help, it's appreciated!

Hi. Im having problems with low GPU usage, resulting in low FPS. I have turned power management mode in the Nvidia control panel to "prefer maximum performance". Power usage and general usage are around 50-60 percent on both GPU's, and there is no CPU or RAM bottleneck. I have attached a screenshot with MSI Afterburner monitoring data. Can anyone help me get the GPU usage up? I realy hate having all this hardware and getting framerates in the 40s Everything is watercooled so there are no temp limits. Guys, I will be buying 2 used sapphire radeon r9 290x tri-x oc 4gb link:- http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814202079 tonight, But how do I know I am getting the 290x not the 290? How do I figure by looking at the card that those are indeed 290x but not 290? I keep looking at pictures of both sapphire radeon r9 290x tri-x oc and the 290; but could not seem to figure out. They look exactly the same. No specific notation on the 290x card... P.S :- I am upgrading from EVGA 760 2 -Way SLI, is it worth the upgrade?

With the release of the new 900 series of desktop GPUs from Nvidia, are the 700 series of cards still worth it? I personally have a GTX 770 in my system and have been considering getting a second one to run in SLI since the price has come down so much. Is it better to get the two older cards to run them in tangent instead of springing for the newer ones? Is it better for existing owners of 700 Series cards to get a heavily discounted second card for SLI or to get a brand new 900 card? What are your opinions?

The original rumor was that the 800 series which is now the 900 series was supposed to be priced better than previous *70 and *80 releases in the past. Since then...many have been playing the guessing game. Will Nvidia show us some love?! The Phillipines prices are relevant but as with anything, discounts for buying in bulk allow e-tailers like Newegg to price more competitively. I am in a unique financial position to buy any one of them but for me it's all about value. If the 980 is too high I will wait until the next series to purchase it and get a 970 or 780. I am curious to see what the pricing on the 780 Ti will be. The prices are going to go down on 700's...pretty much a given! In a few days all shall be revealed... There, happy?! What will be your next upgrade?

Hi, this is the first time for me in the forums. My problem is that im getting an error in the system management, the problem is with my graphics cards, I have two EVGA GTX 780 running in SLI, a bought this cards a couple of months ago, for weeks there was no issues, then I sold my display for an economic emergency, for a month I did not use the computer, I manage to get an spare monitor from my office, when I connect the computer again it show me an error, about windows not loading properly, since I only use this computer for gaming I decided to format the computer, at first the installation went without problems, when I tried to install the drivers for my video cards I lost the Video signal in the monitor, I did restart the computer, again not video signal, I check de LED for the VGA but it was off, then I check for other LEDs in the MOBO, nothing, I decided to format the HDD again, the installation went without issues, this time I check the system management to see if there was a problem in any part of the hardware, then I see the "Error code 10" in one of the video cards, I tried to install the driver for that video card in particular, windows was unable to install the driver. I don't know what is going, I tried everything a read on forums, flash the bios to the latest update, reset the MOBO, reset the CMOS, use only two sticks of ram, remove the CPU and put it back again, install all the updates, the services pack, I tried with only one card to see which one was causing the problem, both cards function properly, when I connect the cards separately and check the system management the cards appears without issues, but when I connect the two cards the system management shows one of the cards with the problem, then I tried the cards in other system, with a different mobo a P8Z68V-PRO, and the same PSU, both cards running in SLI without problems, I don't know if this is a problem with the MOBO or the graphic cards, and the weirdest part is that I used the cards in SLI for many days before I sold my monitor, I run out of options, Please help!!! I'm sorry for my bad english is not my first language My system SPECS: CPU: i7-2600 K MOBO: Asus sabertooth Z77 OS: Windows 7 ultimate VGA: 2 EVGA GTX 780 ACX cooler SLI 3GB Vram RAM: Adata Progaming 2.0 16GB 1600 MHZ PSU: Cooler master Silent Pro 850W CPU cooler: Corsair H80i HDD: Seagate 7200RPM 1TB CASE: NZXT phantom white BIOS version: SABERTOOTH Z77 BIOS 2104

Hi Guys, I'll keep this as short as possible. I have a Corsair CX600, i7 4770k Overclocked. GPU will be Overclocked. Monitor is 1440p @ 110hz. £320 - Gigabyte GTX 780Ti (eBuyer) £300 - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 GAMING (eBuyer / Scan) I want silence and low power consumption. I've had the GTX 780, sold and upgraded to MSI 970, horrible coil buzz, sending back and need a replacement. Worried that if I buy another 970, I'll get coil buzz or whine again. Trying to decide on power of GTX 780ti vs silence, lower power consumption and possible coil whine/buzz of the GTX 970. (Note I've had GPU's with coil whine in the past. I have sensitive hearing, so coil whine gives me incredible headaches)

Hi guys my name is Luke i am new to the forum this is my first post so any tips or tricks or things that i have done wrong please do feel free to tell me and correct me. So moving on i am here to day to ask you one question! Question: What is the best GTX 780 Or 970 to get? for a 1:1 ratio of performance to noise mostly performance but also a good cooler as i would like to eventually overclock this card.
