Hello, this is my first time using a forum of any kind, I hope I’m posting this correctly as it took me 20min to figure out how to post this. I have never built a computer of any kind, but in the past few months I’ve grasped some basic concepts. So I have created a new build that suits my needs (gaming and school work), and is also in a comfortable-ish price range. This is my build: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/bhwFb As I said I’m very new to all this, so I’m wondering if the parts for this build is -compatible (Do all the parts work togther well, no bottle necking) -good for gaming (I have a Toshiba laptop that i use to play dota2 on low settings for 17 fps, so anything above this is good) -anything important missing (Do I need like a modem for the pc to connect to wifi?) Thankyou guys for your help (hopefully) p.s I am looking for a cheap curved monitor, if anyone knows any please tell me. (Price range around 200~400 aud)

And please help me chose a better component if there's any problem. It would be great if you could help. The list of the components that I have chosen are given below. I've used a mac for the past 7 years but I want to switch to a custom windows machine & I'm doing the part selection for my first build. My budget is around 3,000 (I could maybe go slightly higher). I'm going to use it mostly for work (my day job is video production) and gaming. Here is a link to what I have so far on PcPartPicker (note the PSU is just a fill in at the moment. It's the brand I want but I'm under the impression that it's too early to know how many watts I'll need) - http://pcpartpicker.com/list/WTXjcc My question is that given that my intended use for this build is video work (and probably a good amount of games), does anyone have any motherboard sudgestions that would be compatible/optimal with my current list or could someone give me a good place to start for the kind of board I'll need? unlike graphics cards, motherboard brands feel like they have changed so much in the past 7 years that I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. I also wouldn't turn down any other general critiques of my current parts picked. I really appreciate any advice/help with this!

Workstation Build (first-timer) (AU$1600)

About 6+ USB connectors RAM: Should I stick with 16GB or go down to 8? Monitor setup: Currently one 1920x1080, might get a second monitor soon, or even go 1440p/2160p My GPU dilemma: I'm going to go with one of three choices: - Upgrade to an i7-6700 and go with a 4GB GTX 960 - Stick with the i5-6600 and go with a 4GB GTX 970 - Stick with the i5-6600 and go with a 4GB GTX 960 I'm most likely going to lean towards the first option. Thoughts? PSU: Should I stick with the 550W PSU for future builds or grab a 420W to get $40 back? Besides the above costs, the only potential additional costs I see are lighting. I've already got access to a Windows 10 Pro license key. Overall, are these parts first-timer friendly? Leave your thoughts below. Thanks!- 3 replies

Hey everyone! I've been pc gaming for years but have been only using same old same old "Gaming" headsets. I've decided to bring my setup to the next level by upgrading to a good pair of headphones for games, music and movies. Problem is I don't really know where to go from here and was hoping you folks could help out. I need some suggestions on what would be right for me. Whether or not I will need a DAC/AMP or just run with my motherboards on-board audio. Here is some important stuff I want to use a Modmic 4.0 I would prefer open back headphone suggestions (Seems right for me) A DAC/AMP is an option but more budget wise without My price range not including the Modmic is 200-230$ CAD Any suggestions or first time tips from audio pros would be super cool! Looking for the best bang for my buck option Hope you guys can help, Thanks

So, this is my first time building a PC and I have this kind of build in mind. Please, tell me if there's anything I should change. My budget is around 1350-1400 euros. The PC will be mainly used for gaming and internet browsing. Case: NZXT S340 Mobo: Asus Z97-A or Z97-P GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming CPU: Intel i5-4690K RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury or Kingston Savage 2x4GB SSD: Samsung 120GB 850 EVO HDD: WD 1TB Blue PSU: XFX Core Edition 550W or Corsair CX600M V2 I am currently debating if I should buy Z97-P or Z97-A, is the Z97-A worth the extra money, same goes for PSU and RAM Thank you in advance.

Hola! I'm going to build my first PC after a couple of months and I have already chose the parts, so I decided to ask for your opinion. Intel Core i7 5820K 6 Core 64 GB DDR4 RAM MSI X99S SLI Plus Samsung EVO 850 250GB (4x) XFX XTR 750 Watts NVIDIA GTX 980 Graphics Card Case? Haven't decided yet Also what do you think about Dell P2715Q? Will it worth the money? Are there any 4K monitors out there that are much better and have better sharpness?

Hello there, I just got my MSI geforce gtx 970 (OC) and I was wondering if it's really worth overclocking? I'm loving the performance of the card right now and I can't fault it... I was wondering if it's really worth overclocking the GPU and how can I do it? I have searched up the overclocking of the 970 but I can't find relevant information. I noticed my GPU came with a MSI gaming app with a set overclock button but I decided not to use it and stick to the clock settings. Here is my default settings on spccy: So any input would be great! Thanks, -Keelan EDIT: I downloaded MSI afterburner for the fanspeed tweaking but I haven't touched the voltage or clocks:)
