My first build [updated] Need feedback and advice
XyaMorph posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Alright, so i have been planning for months on building my first rig. It's an update from my 3 years old dell XPS 15 laptop. The new rig is meant for gaming and perhaps some photo editing/rendering and i wonder if it's capable of doing that with a smooth flow. I also wonder if the system is cooled enough using the case fans or if i need more fans and if all of the components fits together (even though i've looked it up several times already). Thank you for your help and advice! My budget is maximum 1800$ and this system lies on the edge of that, (1813$) to be exact. The specs: GPU: MSI GeForce GTX780 Gaming 3GB Phsyx CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K PSU: Corsair CX 750M, 750W PSU MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87-G45 gaming, socket-1150 CPU COOLER: Corsair H60 Hydro Series CPU Cooler CASE: Corsair Obsidian 650D Midi Tower DVD DRIVE: Samsung DVD writer SH-224DB HARDDRIVE; Seagate Barracuda 1TB SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2,5 OEM RAM: Crucial DDR3 Ballistix Sport 1600 MHz 8GB -

Hey everyone, first time posting on these forums. I've decided to build my next computer and have a budget of ~$1500, I'm in the final stages of learning the steps of assemblage and picking the parts I want. I was just wondering if anyone had a recommendation or suggestion about my current rig as I'm still kind of confused in regard to picking an appropriate power supply, case and SSD. Here's my build: http://www.pccasegear.com/sc/saT

Hello guys I am planning to kill my current PC and build a new one since I have had this one for 10 years. Because this is my first PC build I want to see if any people can find any issues with m ideas and how to address them. My budget is kind of unlimited as i have lobbed aside £200 a week for the last year so I got about £10k to mess around with (but I am not trying to spend 10k for spending sake) The build is designed to be a gaming set up mostly for 2 1440p 144 monitors and 1 4k 144 monitor. However it will also be used for 3D work. As for look I am going for a Black and White theme mostly with hints of blue. (not sure if that effects anything) ( i will put all the parts on their own line so they stand out) The case I am planning to put it in is the Antec Torque mostly just for style choices. The motherboard I am planning on is MSI MEG Z390 Godlike (unless something happens in july I am waiting for public amd results) and for the Cpu the generic Intel i9-9900k (unless the stuff with AMD makes me change my mind) for the Ram I am planning to use Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB DDR4-3200MHz (4 sticks) As for memory I am deciding between a FireCuda 510 SSD and a samsung 970 pro (I would like some help with this decision) on top of that I will have a Intel Optane 32 gb to boost a seagate barracuda pro 12tb due to the height of the ram I am planning to go with a H150i pro for the CPU cooler a question I have regarding this cooler is how many fans can I put on it without fucking up the rest of the pc? I was planning to put 6 fans on it (3 push 3 pull) and mount it on the front of the case since I think the is to much space at the front and the is not much filling it up so I might as well lower the temperatures a bit. The fans I am planning to put on the cooler are the ML120 PRO RGB LED 120MM PWM Premium Magnetic Levitation Fan (i copy and pasted that cba to type lol) and for the case the 140 version of the same fans. this would 3 case fans on top being 140 mm and 6 at the front for the radiator. Would I be able to fit all these fans in? (i know the benefit is minimal but if the is a benefit I want to do it my room gets to hot as it is because it is above a kitchen and is stupidly isolated so like no heat escapes) The power supply I am planning to use is the ROG Thor ATX12V/EPS12V mostly so i can see the power it is using by just glancing at the side of the case. Lastly the GPU I plan to use are 2 ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti which is another reason I want the 6 fans at the front and 3 at the top. The cost so far is looking about £5450 with GPUS and £3050 without GPUS. So those are my plans if you have any advice and if the are any other things I should wait for apart from AMD let me know. .

So I am currently in the process of creating a list for a semi budget (slightly leaning to higher end) computer and I have the parts listed on an amazon list. I want to make sure I didnt miss anything and I want to get opinions on where I can improve my build / save money. I have an A+ cert and working on sec + so i have some idea of trouble shooting but not much.... I think I got everything though and it looks okay? https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3SWFPF1AM60PR?ref_=wl_share

Budget (including currency): >=$1000 U.S. Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light to medium gaming and media. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I'm sixteen and want to build my first PC. I'm tired of my 2014 laptop and am seeking to upgrade. I want any advice regarding possible incompatibility, size issues, areas where I can save a little, etc. Mind you I don't have the largest of budgets so keep that in mind if you're making any suggestions (I'm going to have to find a job to afford these prices). Any and all help is welcome as this is all new to me and I'm not the most knowledgeable yet. Thank you! List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XR9hrV

This (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BB7RNG) is going to be my first good build, and I'm looking for advices on what could be improved. The budget is $3000, and the goal for it is to be an overkill build that will run the most demanding games out there, including VR games. I plan on making an SLI in the future. Any feedback is appreciated!

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/NQx6jc This PC is solely for gaming on 1440p. I'm a wuss when it comes to OC. I've shamelessly gone with iBuyPower in the past, and yes...even got an Alienware laptop. Go easy on me; I've already learned the error of my ways. Well, kinda...I still got a FE card. ;{ Anyway, this is my first build, and unfortunately, even though I've learned how dumb I was (iBuyPower sales still coat significantly more than building your own), I won't be the one putting this together. So here are my questions: •What will I need for putting it together with super cable management? Things like sleeves, extenders, mounts, ties, etc. (Please list exact product; I'm clueless) <3 •I read something about Raid with SSDs. What is that, what configuration, why that config, what risks, what benefits? •I have the fan in the list because I already owned it. What other fans should I get, if needed? I don't care about appearance. •What should I tell the guy I want done with my computer? I have nonverbal learning disability, so explaining things verbally tends to consist of 10% point, and 90% rambling and unnecessary, confusing information. Basically, give me a script (or list), word for word of what/how I want them to build it. Lastly, I wanted to say that I'm happy I've been making an effort to try and learn more about computers. I've already had several questions answered by you guys, and I wanted to say how much I love this community. I honestly expected the usual condescending, toxic responses where the answer consists more of criticism than helpfulness. I'm going to be showering, so sorry for the late response. I'll be sure to select the answers, because I genuinely do appreciate the help. Thanks.

Hello all, I have finally decided to build a decent machine. Mostly for gaming ( dont care much for 4k gaming . 1080p with high - ultra settings is good enough,) and normal day-to day use. The problem is that I have dificulties choosing the right parts. For now, Ive chosen the following: / Prices are converted from BGN ( Bulgaria ) to US $ . for now the whole setup + a Full-hd monitor is around 2200 BGN or 1215 USD. I dont want to go much further than that. ( +5 % maybe ) CPU - i5 7600 4,10 Ghz. - 271 USD / with stock cooler - I recon it should be enough I was wondering whether I should go with the i7 7700 but the cheapest i could find in my country is ~360 USD. Should I go the extra margin, considering I dont care about streaming or video rendering. / As I have mentioned, i would mostly like to be able to play any game with good visuals. Mobo - Gigabyte B250-HD3P - 107 USD DDR4 2400mhz I dont know much about Mobos.. The other variants i fount interesting were the MSI B250M Bazooka, the MSI z270M Mortar and the Gigabyte z170mx gaming 5. RAM - Samsung 2x8gb 2400 mhz DDR 4 - 117 USD I could get GEIL 4x4gb 3000mhz for around 143 USD, but then I should also upgrade the MoBo as well. Is the speed ( mhz ) that important to justify the extra 40 bucks? ( + another 90 $ for a better MoBo ) PSU - Corsair VS 650W - 69 USD I recon this should be enough ? it says that the mobo supports only AMD Crossfire but not Nvidia SLI.. - so dual GPU is ..а no GPU - Gigabyte gtx 1060 mini 6 gb OC - 310 USD / (cheapest 1060 where I live ) I have an old gtx 760 from a friend but then I wont be able to play just any game with high to ultra visuals, right ? OR I could get the gtx 1060 ..normal size 6gb OC for 331 USD SSD - Intel 120 GB 520 series - 76 USD HDD - Seagate 1000gb Barracuda - 57 USD All this fit in Raidmax Vortex V5 case / 37 USD My question is - is this worth the money, because I dont want to spent a lot on a PC. What do you think? What would you recommend ? Will it be atleast a little future-proof rig ? Thank all of you in advance ! Cheers!

So im planning to build my first Pc for content creation and Gaming so i would like to hear some suggestions from the experts. I donta have that much budget, but ill go with a $1000 budget. I plan to upgrade evrything someday some how, but i just want a good basis in which to grow . So for the case im going with the corsair obsidian 750D because of its massive space, excelent air flow and good looks. My other option was the corsair vengeance because of its mobility and style, but i like the looks and space for the 750D, i want to know if its worth it or its just a luxury item. For the motherboard i like the ASUS maximus VII hero because of its SATA ports and all its ROG extras. http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_HERO/ For the CPU i like the Intel core i5 -4690k because of its price . For the cpu cooler i chose the Corsair H100i because of its ease of use and capabilities. Because of my budget i will start with just a 4gb kingston hyperX fury RAM but i plan to upgrade. About the power supply im not sure yet because of the lack of my knowledge in that area but i guess the Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) will be fine. for the keyboard, ill just go with a basic for anything and that is the amazon basics mouse and keyboard, ill upgrade it anytime soon. Ill start with a WD 1TB Hard drive and soon some day upgrade to an SSD, but for the meantime 1TB suits me fine. Ill also buy an antistastic wristband . For the screen, im not sure if i actually need one immediately as i can use my tv screen, but if not ill go with an ASUS VS228H-P 22-Inch Full-HD 5ms LED-Lit LCD Monitor Because i dont have that much money i plan to wait some time so that i can buy a good Graphics card , preferably NVIDIA so that i can go buy an Nvidia Shiled Portable. Or should i buy an Nvidia 750 ti? Thanks for your help and support.

Hello, I am working on my first build and have made the list below. I am looking for any kind of feedback or improvements to this build as I know little about hardware. I am looking to build a PC that will run most modern games at 1080p max settings at 60 fps. Let me know if this build can do that or of any improvements you have. Thanks! Hey guys, I'm xSpaceSheepy1 (Sam), and I'm new to the forums here. So recently I've been thinking about building my first gaming PC for around $1200 as that's what I can afford at my current age and the amount of money I get. I've been planning for a while getting a couple tips from Linus' videos and some ideas and I've been researching for a couple months and have come to a verdict on what I'm hoping to get. If someone could look over my build and give me some tips, advice, what they think, I would be so grateful. My PCPartPicker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/xSpaceSheepy/saved/mL9nTW Please tell me if there's anything not worth getting and whether what I'm getting is good and if you have any advice. Thanks, Sam

So I am doing my first build in a few days and I was just seeing if there was anything else that I needed or should do. Hello, Im currently working on my first build and learning a lot. Id like to know your thoughts on the parts list i put together https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Brandon_DS/saved/ksPCyc . I plan on using the system for 3d content creation using programs like modo , blender , maya, keyshot , marvelous designer, photoshop , photo scan Pro, Zbrush and other graphic/cpu intensive programs. I would also like to be able play games like Pub-g , tomb raider , Battlefield games, Far cry ,and racing games like dirt with a good amount of frames preferably at 2k resolution. I plan on running 3 monitors at some point one at 2k and the others at 1080p Im currently using a 2011 macbook pro that has had gpu problems in the past and isn't cutting it when it comes to working on 3d projects . I am In the US and i like the price its currently at which is $1454.90, Id be willing to spend a little more if its necessary for what i want to use it for. I also have another list thats slightly cheaper at $1376.81 with a cheaper ssd and different ram that wouldn't look as nice on the exterior but would perform about the same if im correct https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JQ4rV6 . I plan on adding more ram and storage later down the line as well. Please let me know your thoughts on what i put together , how i can improve it, or if there are any problems with it, Thanks!

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'm new here so here we go. I'm new to PC building and would like to get by build checked out by someone who knows what they're doing. I plan to use it for mainly 3D rendering (both CPU- and GPU-based) and music production, but also occasional gaming. How does it look? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/SamPoulton/saved/8LJRJx CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Mobo: ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666 2x8gb Storage: Kingston A400 240gb SSD and Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm Video card: MSI GTX 1060 6gb OC PSU: Corsair TX550M 550w 80+ gold Case: BitFenix Nova Is this an OK build? How can I improve it without spending much more? (I'm already at the top end of my budget) Thanks for reading and helping a noob out!
