I need to control the fan speed of my Dell laptop (it has one fan, the CPU fan). I have tried a few software like SpeedFan, HWMoniter, ArgusMoniter, but they don't detect the fan. HWInfo detects the fan, but the fan curve I set on it is not followed by my laptop. I can only control it when I click 'set manual' but the change only stays for 2-3 seconds, before the fan goes back to its original speed. I couldn't find any fan control in the BIOS. What should I do?

Hello! I just recently built my first pc, which is mostly black and white themed. I have a Vetroo v5 rgb cpu fan with "addressable rgb", but for some reason upon turning on my pc for the first time it stays on the color yellow (not even rainbow rgb). I have a b550m d3sh mobo and the fan has a 3 pin "ARGB connector" but since im new i had no idea where to plug this in my mobo so i just plugged it in my mobo where it says "D_LED2" (heres the layout of the mobo: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_b550m-ds3h_e.pdf on page 4) I tried looking up how I can change the color or fix this, but to no avail. It really makes my pc look weird with everything else being black and white... please help!

Hello, so I just built my first PC and was playing around with some settings to optimize performance and all of that. I have a 3700x with a ASUS ROG Strix B550-F (Wifi), with idle temps around 38 to 45C. I wanted to know if I should leave it at boost mode or if this more aggressive custom fan curve would be better. Also, I would like to know if those idle temps are good for the 3700x, thanks!! Notes: - the idle temps listed are with an OC on the CPU of 4000MHz, in the boost fan curve, not the custom one. - These temps are in a sort of open environment, since my case hasn't arrived yet. So it isn't in a case, but rather in a cardboard enclosure that I made with a medium size fan pointed directly at it. Edit: The cooler is the stock AMD Prism cooler that comes with the 3700x.

About 2 weeks ago when I was mining some crypto I noticed that my fans didn't spin at 100%, which caused my card to thermal throttle. It was annoying as I was afraid it would also do that while playing games. It didn't care about my Afterburner settings, which still showed as if the fans were running in the right speed, but if they were, I wouldn't thermal throttle. HWInfo showed 0 RPM even though some fan was clearly spinning there and the CPU fan wasn't that audible. Just now I could open my PC (I was quite busy) and I found out that the left fan doesn't spin at all, because of that the right one blasts at full speed even when I don't do anything on the computer. It's especially annoying because of the noise. I could shut that right fan off only when uninstalling the GPU, but I couldn't work like that. Leaving the case open, prying the fan to spin, removing all other software that could automatically change the fan speed, reinstalling GPU drivers - none of that worked. Everything's connected properly too. The GPU is Inno3D RTX 2060 Super Twin X2 OC.

Hey, so i wanna buy case Zalman s4 plus. It has 8 fan mounts. So i was wondering what would be best fan configuration. I wanna keep it cool as possible, noise that config would create doesnt really bother me. I was thinking about something like the photo i attached. Also i will be swapping preinstalled fans with Arctic P12 PWM. I am welcome by your suggestions.

So I'm thinking of getting the Phanteks Eclipse P360A for my first build. I've noticed that it comes with 2 RGB fans already installed, and I was wondering if these are fine for temps. The fans it comes with are the Phanteks PH-F120SK and I'm thinking of buying another one for exhaust as there are no fans for exhaust. It has a 500-1500 RPM range which seems pretty good to me for the price. FYI I'm going to be putting a Ryzen 5 3600 with the stock cooler it comes with (Wraith Stealth I believe) and a 1660 Super. Not sure exactly what 1660 Super as I am buying used because GPU prices are insane and I believe they are going to stay that way for at least another 4 months. So is it fine if I just add one more Phanteks PH-F120SK for exhaust? Will temps be fine?

Hey Guys, I Just Ordered The New Lenovo Legion Prebuilt And I Was Wondering What Kind Of Fans Are They Using? It Looks Like 92mm Fans But For A Full System, Only Having Four 92mm Fans Really Sucks. Appreciate The Help

Is it safe to change 3 pin fan cha_fan connected through bios and use manual speed? This is for loud noise

Computer Type: Desktop GPU: RX 5600 XT CPU: RYZEN 5 5600x Motherboard: asus tuf b450m RAM: 2x8GB Crucial 3200MHz PSU: seasonic 550W 80+ Gold Operating System´: WINDOWS 11 GPU Drivers: Adrenalin Driver Version: 21.12.1 Description of Original Problem: Basicly the GPU fans don't respond to temperature or change its RPM even when hard set into an exact fan precentage. Screenshot of the behaviour: https://imgur.com/a/KWBI1wB . Note that when the fan rpm curve levels off to 317 the fans actually stop spinning. Another example of the behaviour: At point 1 fan behaviour suddenly corrected, stayed for a minute then at point 2 I started a game and fans turned off: https://imgur.com/a/HGSCMje Troubleshooting: It happened on both win10 and win11 and on a different system with a 4790k, reinstalling drivers (with DDU) does not help, older drivers do not help.

Sorry for my English beforehand, I'm still trying my best to master it. So recently bought an old GPU for my rig, a GALAX GTX 970 duo fan with an incredibly small form factor. The problem starts with the temperature of my card being 37°C, 5 min later it rises up to 50°C even in idle and stays there until full load it reaches 80°C and starts throttling. I tried everything I can diagnose, I replace my GPU thermal paste, change the fan direction, but nothing works, even making the situation worse. And then I the GPU to my friend setup (he has a full ATX case with very decent airflow( 2 intake front,2 exhaust top and 1 exhaust the back ) and wola ... my GPU full load at 70°C only. The thing is I cannot copy his setup, because my AIO is in the way, and ... the GPU always pushing hot air to the case (direction in the pic) that I have to make both fans in the front panel become exhaust to pull out the hot air. So here is my question, Should I copy my friend's airflow set up and forget about the hot in that place, or I make the opposite configuration? 3 intake at the top and the back, 2 exhaust in the front? Can you guys recommend any solution to mine setup?

Hi, I just built my first PC and everything is working just fine with no trouble and all the fan rgb and case rgb lights are working BUT I want to use the rgb controller to control the well... RGBs but the problem is Asus Aura sync is not working , and It only detects motherboard and not fans, I plugged the 3 pin rgb header which is connected to the fan hub but nothing works. What could I possibly done wrong? Just to remind: RGBs work but I can't control them using aura sync

So let's be clear I fully understand the "proper" setup for air flow would be intake front, bottom & side fans with exhaust fans as back and top. But I was curious about possibly switching my back fan to intake to blow fresh air over my RTX 3090 VRAM to maybe help with temps. The back of my PC sit close to a window and with it being winter I get some cold air coming in , sometime I'll crack my window to help but not often though. My CPU is water-cooled and do not have a heatsink with fan on it as I figured that would be the main problem with having your rear fan as intake it would cause conflict with it. Just want to get yall thoughts, comments. Cool

I'm new to the world of RGB. I purchased 3x Corsair HD120 fans and an RGB HUB from Corsair. I connected the 4-pin fan connectors to the motherboard headers (MSI B450M MORTAR MAX). I connected the other fan connectors (smaller 4-pin) to the RGB HUB. I connected the RGB Hubs sata connector to the PSU cable. Now within iCue, I do not see the hub and cannot control the RGB, any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, I recently bought the corsair carbide 175r (case) and it comes with an RGB Fan, however, i don't have rgb headers on my motherboard, therefore i cannot use it. I'm just wondering, if i buy one of those controllers on aliexpress or ebay, will these work with corsair rgb fan? it's not iCue, it's just one that comes with the case. examples: 5v usb mini rf17 Coolmoon rgb controller

I recently bought a corsair carbide 175r and i would like to know 2 things. First, is the fan that comes with the case good for exhaust? and the other thing is, which is better option for front fans, static pressure or airflow? the front of the case is closed with air coming in/out with litte holes on top and bottom in the front panel, so i'm asking for not mistaking it later. There won't be anything blocking the fan, no HDD or anything else, just the closed front panel anyway. Thanks in advance.

Yeah so as the title states I just installed an AIO in my PC and the fans lowest setting is 23% which is too loud for me when its just idling at 30c. Is there anything i can do to change this? I tried to change the settings in the bios and it wont even let me enter anything below 23% in the fan settings/fan curve. The motherboard in question is ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING WIFI. Thanks for any help!

Hello, i have been experiencing this is over past couple month. Randomly my monitors will go black, and i would get the "No Display Input" on the screen, at the same time my PC fans (not sure if all, or just GPU) will turn on to 100%. While that happens i still can hear sounds as well as able to talk to people in a discord call. I have checked the temperatures using HWiNFO64, everything seems extremely good. The only interesting thing i found is that before the crash, GPU hotspot temp read 0. Not sure if thats related or not, also not exactly sure if that 0 was clocked when PC was working fine or when it already "shut down". I am not sure if its the motherboard, ram, or GPU. I really really hope its not the GPU as that is the hardest part to find. I did some research and some people say that it is ram related. I had ram in slots 2 and 4. Yesterday and today the problem was happening very often so decide to run with 1 stick of ram in slot 2. Problem occurred with either one of the sticks so i think its safe to say the ram sticks themselves aren't the problem. Right now i have 1 stick of ram in slot 1. Haven't had a crash yet but i have only been running the PC for about 45mins. Could it be the RAM slots on the mobo that are bad? I have tried putting them into slots 1 and 3 (instead of usual 2 and 4) but while trying to load i would get an error saying that RAM is not in optimal slots and i need to move it back to 2 and 4. Weird because i always thought and 1-3 is just as acceptable as 2-4. Are there any other ways i could test this? What else could it possibly be? Could it be bios? I do have an old GTX 970 that i could try but the problem is, the issue happens randomly. For example yesterday it happened 3 times within 2 hours. Today it happened about 15 minutes after i turned on the PC in the morning. But before yesterday i havent had this problem for like 3 or 4 weeks. As far as i can tell i cannot recreate the issue on demand. The problem occurs independent of the load on the computer. It can happen right after i start windows or it can happen after i have been gaming for 4 hours. My PC Specs: Win 10 home premium 64bit Asus Meg Ace x570 motherboard AMD Ryzen 3900x Msi RTX 2080Ti Gaming Trio X Trident Z Royal 32GB RAM (2 sticks of 16 GB, currently running only 1 stick) 1000W power supply gold or plat CPU is water cooled. Case is NZXT 710Hi Issue started happening probably over 6 month ago, but since its very random and usually doesn't happen often enough for me to care much, i kind of let it by, but after yesterdays many shutdowns i decided to post this here. Hopefully some of you can help. Thanks you!

My Kolink Rocket v2 is a sandwich style itx case, with only only one 92mm fan, which is used as an exhaust. I've seen it is possible to install a 92mm AIO water cooler for the CPU, but my Cryorig C7 does the job fine, so I have swapped out the original slim 92mm for a Noctua NF-B9 Redux. There are no spots for an intake fan, but I decided to hold up a 120mm fan that I had spare against the case... and the vent holes matched the layout of the fan screw holes!! So I ordered 2 120mm Arctic P12 15mm Slim fan, some M4 25mm nuts, bolts and washers, here is the result... (it may be possible to do this with a 25mm thick fan and 30mm M4 buts) It does not look as clean now, but I can game at ultra settings and my GPU is running very cool (40) I may switch out the nuts for grey nylon/plastic ones or transparent ones, that could look good. Another mod I did was extra storage - this case has 5 drives: 256GB NVMe on the motherboard 480GB 2.5" SSD in the slide out tray 2TB 2.5 HDD in the slide out tray 256GB SATA M.2 installing using an M.2 to SATA adapter on the CPU side 256GB SATA M.2 installing using an M.2 to SATA adapter on the GPU side And lastly another look at my RTX 3070 FE that I managed to get at MSRP

Greetings Community I have a bad Lian Li 120mm fan that came with my Lian Li Lancool II. I am looking to replace it with the most cost effective option possible. I have considered going with something from Noctua but I was unsure if it is the best bang for my buck at the moment. I would like something with good airflow, NO RGB (due too the possible interference with the case RGB strips), decently low volume, and definitely under $20. An all black or grey fan is preferred. If something can be found around $10 that would be great. I also would like something with good longevity. A fan I was looking at was the Noctua NF-S12A PWM: https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-redux-1700-high-Performance-Award-Winning-Affordable/dp/B07CG2PGY6 A fan I would prefer but at a cheaper price would be the Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax.Black.swap: https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NF-F12-chromax-Black-swap-Premium-Grade-Quiet/dp/B07654PNFQ

Hello! Yesterday I encountered a problem with my new pc build. I just build a custom loop Into my pc, everything is from ek waterblocks. The rgb worked fine (cpu and gpu Block as well as 3 rgb fans and pump) until I changed the non rgb fans. I changed 6 fans from normal to pmw ones to controll their speed. I recognised that the rgb did not work so I connected the rgb cable to the hub on the mainboard. Now to my problem. The rgb from cpu block and pump work but the fans don't light up anymore (just 1 led on one fan) as well as the gpu Block does not work either. If I connect the fans to the splitter cable the leds from pump and cpu dimm until I disconnect the fans. The gpu Block does not work neither with or without the fans. Here are my specs: Mainboard: aorus z 390 pro WiFi Cpu: 8700k Gpu: asus tuf rx 6900 xt Wstercooling is entirely from ek. Psu is a 1000w be quiet platinum. I don't think the rgb header is overloaded since it worked the day before just fine... did I maybe short the MB by connecting the cable while still turned on?

Which devices are Gen2 ARGB can normal ARGB fans be some how changed to Gen 2 ARGB Cooler Master says their ARGB Gen2 controller A1 allows something called Multi-Layer Mode Where if the fans are also ARGB Gen 2 if the fans are daisy chained or connected using a splitter or hub each individual fans will be detected and can be customized individually(https://landing.coolermaster.com/pages/addressable-gen-2-rgb-led-controller/) cooler master says their ARGB products manufactured after 1 June 2021 are all ARGB Gen 2. -Is there a way to find out for other brands? -How to find if a ARGB peripheral is Gen1 or Gen 2 for brands other than cooler master? -Can anyone share a list or ARGB Gen 2 devices? -Is there any way to convert normal ARGB devices to Gen2 (example my Deepcool L360 ARGB Aio and its CF120 Fans)
