Hi there! I received an i9 9900 cpu and bought the GAMMAXX series LE500 240mm Liquid CPU cooler. After installing, it worked 100% for about a week, never switching off my PC. (37degrees celcius idle) Yesterday I shut my pc off for the night. Switched it back on the next morning and the fans were max and temps reaching 90degrees celcius without load. I checked thermal paste, it was making contact, screwed the aio back in, plugged the pump and fans back straight into my motherboard. (Pump plugged into ATX_12V_2X2SYS_FAN1 and fans into CPU fan) Started PC and worked 100%. Last night I shut PC off and this morning same problem with fans spinning 100% and crazy high temps. Why is this happening? I have a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X motherboard.

Hello All, First Time Poster! I am having some trouble figuring out the optimal case fan setup for my first build. I am having issues with my CPU reaching high temps (around 8-82c) while gaming with a 50ish% load. Even if that temperature is acceptable, I want to have more wiggle room, as I live in the Midwest and temperatures can rapidly change and I have little to no actual room air conditioning. I am thinking the stock wraith cooler I have is not enough, so I am planning to upgrade to a Noctua-U12-A; but now I am also wanted another opinion on how to setup my case fans since the exhaust from the 12A can’t go to an intake fan right? My case included 4x 43.2cfm 1k rpm fans, and I also got 2x Noctua F12 71.69cfm 2k rpm fans which I placed on the two open top slots on my case. Ideally I would like the front fans to stay the same (they are all idle non adjustable rgb so I don’t want them to be scattered if possible as is the rear fan) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mvz4Y9 Linked above is my current build, and attached is a basic sketch of my current configuration, plus what I had planned based on some more research. I could take pictures later when I’m back home if needed. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks all!

Greetings folks ! I scoured Youtube and the LTT forums and found a few threads about replacing AIO paste every 2 years as part of regular maintenance because they can sometimes dry out, but I couldn't find anything on whether or not there would be any benefit in replacing the stock paste applied to most AIOs (specially, the Corsair H150i Capellix) with something like a Thermal Grizzly in star pattern on Day 1. The main reason behind my question is that AIOs are built to support different Dye sizes from both Intel and AMD and therefore, the pre-applied thermal paste is unlikely to provide full coverage for both a 12700k and a Ryzen 5900. Also, I don't expect AIO makers to splurge on high-end thermal paste if they can get away with it. So would it be a best practice to ALWAYS replace the pre-applied Thermal paste on AIOs with a retail thermal paste ?

Hi. I have a Ryzen 5 5600x and I am looking to try and overclock it. I was just wondering which CPU coolers that I have would work best with this CPU. Would the Scythe Ninja Fuma 2 work, or should I stick with the 5600x stock cooler?

Hey, Right now I'm using a 4 year old 360mm AIO (Corsair H150i RGB PRO XT) with my i9 12900KS and while it's not thermal throtteling or anything it get's quite toasty. Around 30 C on idle and 95 up to 100 C during extreme CPU benchmarks but when using normally in games it's around 65-85 C which is still a little bit too hot for my taste. I was wondering if I could benefit from upgrading my cpu cooler to something like H170i Elite Capellix or perhaps another good cpu cooler with LGA 1700 support ?

Good day currently I have bought Noctua NH-D15 not Chromax to my i9 12900k variant Location Temp: Philippines Location Temp: 35-41 °C°F Room Temp: 35-41 °C°F No Aircon just electric fan my concern is my IDLE is around 40-50°C°F and at max performance it is thermal throttling 100°C°F sometimes above . I am using Noctua thermal paste. free with the NH-D15 what seems to be a problem? Do the Noctua NH-D15 cant handle the 12900k? should I change or switch to a better AIO?? but I have a phobia in AIO or should a change the thermal paste? my case is TUF GT-301 and fan setup is 3intake front 2top fan out and the rear fan out I upload screenshot of my system idle and max performance.. thankyou in advance for advice.

So I have gotten myself into a little bit of an issue. I had previously installed a 120mm Lepa AIO water cooler into my computer for my CPU. Well the pump just died yesterday in the cooler and I wanted to proceed with taking it off to replace it with a new cooler. I took the AIO off, it went fine up until then. I went to try and unscrew the plastic bits on the front of my motherboard and they won’t come off. I have tried to push the pins through the back of my board to the front and, nothing. I have tried to hold the pins in the back to be able to twist off the plastic knobs in the front, to no success. I guess the plastic pieces might be cross threaded? No idea. But what would my solution to this be? Should I just dremel the plastic pieces off? I really do not know what to do at this point. About the missing pin in the backplate, when I was taking the cooler off it just fell off. Guess I got lucky.

On Amazon their is a cpu cooler listed as AP-565-120 CPU Cooling Fan, CPU Air Cooler Intel LGA 1200, i7 10700K CPU Fan Cooler, 5 Direct Contact Heatpipes. What i see from this is a great cpu cooler build, since it has 5 copper pipes with a soild flat copper plate on the cpu. It looks like a great and possibly a quality build. To see its specs, its on Amazon, at this link: https://www.amazon.com/Aardwolf-AP-565-120-Cooling-Contact-Heatpipes/dp/B098NS7KBS/ref=pd_di_sccai_cn_1_sccl_3/133-4270649-7950931?pd_rd_w=ZzMdk&pf_rd_p=1ed8df3a-0df8-4988-98b9-252e4c99c568&pf_rd_r=BQHH7HYKP46G2T12V77E&pd_rd_r=5594b8e2-dbd6-4fe8-8fb7-b7c0267bec84&pd_rd_wg=PF12w&pd_rd_i=B098NS7KBS&th=1 The AP-565-120 seems good for just $21, disregarded the fan, as i can easily buy a noctua 120mm fan for $20 to improve just for a total of $41. Is this not a great idea, for the price? Since the heat spreader it self looks good no great.

I'm somewhat new to building a PC so please forgive me. I'm upgrading my son's PC for his Birthday this weekend. I've already purchased a new CPU and RAM. I'm guessing I need to upgrade his CPU cooler too right? One thought was the Cooler Master Hyper H412R ($32.99 USD on Amazon) which someone recommended to me since it should fit in this case he has. Another recommendation was this DEEPCOOL Castle 240R AIO Liquid Cooler ($59.99 USD on Amazon). Any thoughts and/or recommendations? Attached pictures show the computer in it's current form BEFORE upgrades.

Budget (including currency): 1.5-1.6 Lahks INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, AAA titles such as Witcher, RDR2, Elden Ring etc. Would also like to stream/use chrome/discord while playing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a 1080p 144Hz monitor which I plan to use for a while a later maybe 1-2 years upgrade to 1440p/4k. I'd like to play at 60fps above and stream accordingly. I have a keyboard and mouse as well. Parts List : Parts That I've already bought/Had from before : Intel i5-12600k MSI MAG Tomahawk Z690 - DDR4 ram Gigabyte AORUS 850W Gold+ PSU 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 500GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus Parts that I would Ideally want: Coolermaster TD500 Mesh ASUS ROG STRIX 3070 TI or ASUS TUF Gaming OC 3070 TI 32 GB Ram - Either 3200Mhz or 3600MHz would work Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Hi I'm planning on doing my first PC build in the next 2-3 of weeks or so. After using a laptop for the last 4.5 years which has served me well, I want to upgrade to a PC as I finally can. I've done a decent amount of research on what parts I want/need for my use case. My use-case is regular gaming with Valorant, AAA titles like Witcher, RDR2, Genshin, Doom, Sekiro, Eldenring, and light streaming. My reason for the CPU/Motherboard/Ram combination is to allow me to run chrome/discord/OBS in the background without having any issues while playing a AAA title. Now my main question is about the cooler. Everywhere that I've found the cooler online, the specifications mention that the cooler isn't compatible with the LGA1700 socket which is what I need. After looking around a bit, the Noctua website mentions that they either have hardware for LGA 1700 included in orders post 01/2022 but none of the online retailers mention this. Noctua also mention that they provide another mounting kit for the coolers purchased before this free of cost to people (NM-i17xx-MP83 for this cooler) but I'm not sure if they provide this in India as I can't find any official retailer for them. I would be very grateful if someone who has bought this in the last couple of months with a 12th gen CPU can share their experience with this. Another question I had about the cooler was whether I'd be able to fit the GPU in the topmost slot of the motherboard as the cooler is quite big. If not, I'd like some suggestions on coolers I can buy which would be a good replacement for this. And finally, a small question on which of these two I should choose: ASUS ROG STRIX 3070 TI or ASUS TUF Gaming OC 3070 TI? Would it really make any difference? The budget is not much of an issue, currently, I'd be spending around 1.5L given this parts list (If it looks less, it's because I've had some parts for quite some time and I'm not counting those). I don't mind putting in another 5-10k for a different cooler or GPU which would go with the rest of the list. I'd also appricieate any case compatibility issues anyone might be aware of. Thanks Thanks in advance to anyone who provides any advice. Please feel free to ask questions you might have to help me with this, I'll reply as soon as I can.

Hiya everyone. Looking for a one-up forum for best performance cooler Looking for: Best performance in Cooling. Not looking for: Quiet, Silent Limitations 1: Max width, length and height of 3M for the cooling unit itself. Limitations 2: Has to be self-sustainable. The tags include both exotic and cooler mods to me meaning custom ideas and concepts so go crazy! Use this as both a way to show your knowledge and also get together with the community!

Hello everyone! I thought about upgrating my prebuilt pc's cpu cooler and tought about getting the Noctua NH-U12s Redux since my friend got one aswell, we both have an i5-10600k. Should it be enough to play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village and Forza Horizon 5 without going in the 80-90°s? If I should get one should I use the pre applied thermal paste? Should I also use noctua's NA-CW1 cleaning wipes to remove the old paste? And since my prebuilt didn't come with an exhaust fan(the case is the cooler master MB511 argb), should I get one? Thanks!!

Hello! Some friend of mine asked me if the Cooler Master MasterAir g100m is good enough for a i5-10600k (no oc)? I tought I'd ask here since I couldnt find anything on google. Thanks in advance! (Also sorry if my topic is in the wrong section I'm still pretty new to the forum! ^^)

CPU - Intel Core i7 10700KF RAM - 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro Mobo - MSI Z590 Gaming Force GPU - MSI Gaming X 3060TI PSU - EVGA 80+ Gold 650W So I bought a Kraken Z63 cooler at Xmas, Installed it, didn't hear any noise from the pump and the fans weren't spinning. Tested the fans in the motherboard pins instead of the provided connector and the fans worked fine. Tried different SATA power connector and still nothing. Eventually sent it back to SCAN and they tested it and said it was a Faulty Pump and re sent another. 2nd Kraken Z63 - Same thing happened again, only difference was that the fans spun slightly (not much at all) and no noise from the pump again. Sent it back to SCAN and again they sent me another new one after testing the one I sent back. 3rd Kraken Z63 - Same again. When I power up the fans spin round once then stop. No noise from the pump at all - tried different SATA power cable that i know works, tried the CPU_FAN pins on the motherboard instead of the PUMP_FAN still nothing. Every single time I boot into bios to check fan speed and just see my CPU temps rise up to 80+ before I power it off because I dont want to damage my CPU. Apologies for the long post. If anyone needs anymore info I will provide what I can - I want to see peoples opinions before i just get my money back for this cooler - I can provide pictures if need. Thanks in advance

hi, I'm looking to upgrade from my AMD Wraith to a better and quieter cooler, temps around 40 - 50 idle and 70 - 80 at slight load and at heavy load up to 90 degrees Celsius. I want a cooler that doesn't sound like a rocket ship when I start up blender or davinci resolve. right now thinking of buying a noctua NH-U12 redux

Ok, First time on the forums, so I think I setup the tags thing right, but probably not (sorry) this is my first PC that I built, with a lot of help from a lot of different people (pre-pandemic and GPU shortage) I have an Intel i5 9400f, and it is currently running the stock cooler, which is louder than I would like, and a little bit warm (pretty much 65-75c under load, and 35-40c (mostly) idle) I'm pretty sure these temperatures are fine for a cpu, but not great. Now, I have decided that with about $75 in Amazon gift card credits, I want to buy a Noctua cooler If this is actually fine for temperatures, then too bad, I'm probably going to end up buying a cooler anyways I have already decided against water cooling, even though I know that it is probably fine, even with an AIO from a reputable brand, i still don't feel comfortable with it, especially in the case of a leak, which would drip on my GPU, which finding a replacement for, would be less than fun, even though it is a 1060 and not a 3090 (still lucky that I got it when I did, and the silicon in that thing is pretty high up in terms of the silicon lottery, so ) I have the NZXT h510, so I cant just get an NH-D15 and never have to upgrade coolers again, If I had a bigger case, than I would make the investment, but I don't need It now, and By the time I upgrade my pc, ill probably be okay with water cooling (still seems like... not the best idea) I was looking at the Noctua NH-L9x65 or the Noctua NH-L9i chromax.Black, but Noctua's compatibility list says only with good ventilation, which I guess mine is okay, but If I'm spending 50-70 dollars on a piece of aluminum with a fan, then I want it to work really well, and not end up just buying the more expensive equivalent of the stock cooler Sorry this was all a rant TLDR: Looking for a new cpu cooler (not water cooling) for an intel i5 9400f (preferably Noctua) in an NZXT h510, and don't mind spending 50-70 dollars, but don't really realistically want to go over 100-110 USD Sorry if i did this completely wrong, but if I didn't: Any suggestions?

Hi forum I have a i7 6700k in a ASUS ROG strix z270h and the CPU is cooled down by a arctic freezer 34 pull only. I wonder is the cooler good enough for the CPU or do I need to upgrade it if yes any suggestions?

Ahoy! (I hope this is the right category for this?) It's late at night and that means I am ready to upgrade my computer. I have acquired a Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler to replace my Stock AMD cooler, as well as a new case; the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact - or as I like to call it: a mouthful. I am prepared to build it, I got all kinda tools and everything, but I wanted to ask the community, what would your steps be to take on this endeavor? I hope me asking this isn't trivial or whatever, I am just a bit nervous is all. This is my first time doing a case transfer. Thank you for your help! EDIT: The upgrade has been completed! I successfully installed the new CPU Cooler and swapped all my components into the new case. It is wonderfully quiet and works flawlessly now. I will now note however the things that caused me issues or other noteworthy things: Firstly, the fact that there are 300 billion types of screws that came shipped with the case, are not labelled. I mean if you look in the manual it vaguely says what the screw is and where it goes, but the shape is not always clear.. I am still not completely sure if I installed the right screws into the MB, but they screwed in smoothly, so I guess it's fine? Talking about the screwing in, it was a nightmare. The screwholes barely aligned unless I forced the MB to rotate just enough so that the screws could fit inside. And what also did not help, was the fact that the top center screw could not be screwed in, as the cooler interfered with it. Sooo now I am missing one screw but I guess it's fine? Also the center screw could not be used. There's this nipple thing in the case which protrudes outwards, so that one screw would not be necessary. Soo now I have two screws laying about collecting dust I guess. Whatever. What was also a bit nightmarish was the power button. These tiny single-pin connectors were so tough to plug inside.. and to *stay* inside. What also didn't help was the location of the SYS-FAN1 connector. It's near the center of the MB. And the cable for the front-fans is too short to reach, soo I can't really control them in Dragon Center. If I were to get some fan hub I guess I could control them, but I honestly don't think that's necessary. That's it. It took me about four hours in total, from disassembling the old case and components to inserting them all in the new one. It was an enlightening experience, and I am very happy with the outcome. I would like to thank the user kb5zue for assisting me in this process. It is people like him that help me reinforce the belief, that nice people do exist out there, and we can all come together to help each other out, even the inexperienced. Thank you so very much. This is Ralph, signing out.

Hi, I got an old 3 year old H110i, and it has recently developed an almost constant burbling noise (i tried to listen to some of the air trapped in pump videos, it doesn't sound the same but who knows if that is a speaker / recording issue). It sounds like tat tat tat, then silent for a bit, then tat tat tat again. interval of something like 2-3 seconds each wave, but it sometimes does gets to constant. Not so much running water, almost like a fan getting caught on something but way quieter than that (I double checked to make sure that fan isn't the issue) It is mounted in a Core X9 in the top position above the CPU itself. Temps are still good (under 60C with a 5Ghz all core I5 9600k at 1.3V) , but when I play with the pump speed in iCUE it does change the sound a bit. The weird bit is that it ONLY happens under idle. When under load, the noise goes away. Which is somewhat strange as in iCUE the pump speed don't really change much. I tried doing some movement of the radiator to try and move the air bubble around but nothing helps. Is it just that with age the liquid is drying up and I am getting that constant bubble deal, but why is it only under idle and not load?? Or is it something I can fix easily on my end and no need for a new AIO?

I'm planning to upgrade my second PC, which is primarily gaming first, unlike my first PC, which is a mixed workload, here are the specs below: Intel Core i7-6700K Asrock Z270M ITX/AC Coolermaster Vortex 211p* G.Skill Ripjaw V DDR4 2133MHz (XMP disabled), 2x8GB Crucial MX500 500 GB (M.2 form factor) Toshiba 2x3TB HDD Galax GeForce GTX 1660 Super. iGPU is disabled. SilverStone SFX-L 500W Apevia Qpack3 1x120mm intake and 1x120mm outake Blu-ray Writer Windows 10 Pro 1 - I recently swapped out the Intel stock (copper base) to the Vortex 211p, because the motor is dying. Currently my sibling is playing: Halo series Cyberpunk 2077 Metro Exodus Warframe Forza Horizon 5 I may upgrade it to either i7-11700K or i9-11900K (it's $230 difference, for the bundle, which is the ASUS Prime Z590M-Plus). Unfortunately, most of the shops I've visited, no longer have 10th gen in stock, only 11th gen CPU. I mean, there's 10th gen, but only the Core i3 10th. I'm looking at top-down cooler design due to: Case design Need for VRM cooling Easier to dismount I've been trying to search for a good top-down design, but most of them are: Too bulky Incorrect fin direction Looks difficult to uninstall for maintenance purposes If it were any other case, I would've thrown a H212 (whichever the latest version, and not ITX case). Any recommendation would help!

Hi, everyone. I recently bought the DarkFlash Darkair White LED cooler as a replacement to the wraith prism cooler provided by Ryzen CPUs. The problem is I can't light up the LEDs of the fan and the front plate of the cooler because of the limited capacity of my motherboard (ASUS Prime A320M-K having no ARGB headers). Is there a workaround to control (or just turn the LED on) the LED/fan speed of my cpu cooler? Note: the cooler fan is working (spinning) except for the LEDs (not lighting up)

I have been looking on the market for a while and kind of been flip flopping around not being able to make up my mind trying to decide on new parts. So I waited to have a better budget and settled on 5800x and a new Mobo with a bit of flexibility for extra things. That's fine in all however I noticed I probably won't have a lot of headroom when it comes to the cooler (not wanting liquid cooled btw). It looks like the case I have has a maximum cooler height of 150mm but I am a bit stuck for choice finding the right thing for it. I was looking at the "Noctua NH-U9S" and seems to be quite small in height however it specifies on the site low turbo / low overclocking. Not sure how this translates to stock clock speeds but im sure that would be fine. Even if I potentially dip the voltage a little bit. Or I could go for a little bit more out of my budget for a "DARK ROCK TF 2" which is 134mm height, an overall better product and is compatible with the mobo. The obvious winner out of the two would be DARK ROCK but wanted to know if there are any other contenders under this size constraint as I haven't bought an after market cooler before. I do have another larger case with an older build in it that I can definitely fit a larger sized cooler in, however the current PC sits pretty much flush where it is now so I do wan't to keep this case because of that **Budget (including currency):** £50 - £80 **Country:** UK **Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:** Programming, Gaming / VR, streaming, 3D usage & productivity use **Other details** (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): AMD Ryzen 7 5800X MSI MAG B550M MORTAR / Wifi Corsair CC-9011075-WW Carbide Series 100R
