So my Open Hardware Monitor shows 6 different temperatures, plus the CPU core for my CPU. My 4th temperature is 102 but my core is 50.5. Should I be worried?

From two sources, this time: WCCFTech: Exclusive: Intel’s Desktop Roadmap 2018 to 2019 VideoCardz.net: Intel Core i9-9900K launches in Q3 2018 after all Pretty straight forward. Coffee Lake-S Refresh is in September. "Refresh" of X299 is in Oct/Nov, followed by the new A series Processors. My Thoughts: I really am amazed that Intel is bringing out the Xeon Platinum SKUs to the "High-end Desktop". But, what I'm excited for is the first person to delid what is clearly going to be a >4000USD A-series CPU. The Compensator clearly has a new CPU to work with later in the year.

Hi, I need to create a presentation on a subject of my choice for a job interview, and as you can tell, I've chosen Intel Coffee Lake. The interview needs to last 10 minutes, and the CEO who will be spectating my presentation has good knowledge on PCs so I can't miss anything out. I have a few questions to prepare for the interview: 1. What details should I be including for this presentation? eg. core count, die size, etc 2. I'm thinking of expanding my subject to Kaby Lake, what comparisons should I make between Kaby and Coffee Lake? 3. Is worth talking briefly about the previous generations in order as an introduction and then transitioning into Coffee Lake? 4. Is worth talking about overclocks? 5. Should I talk about Cannon Lake at some point? 6. What order should my information be presented in for my Google Slides presentation? Thank you all in advance for the help! Please gives as in-depth answers as you can, it will benefit me the most and get me higher chances of being chosen!

I am going to build a new PC ,have to decide between getting an i5-8600k now or getting an i5-9600k when it's released. Since the i5-9600k just has a 200MHz higher turbo clock(according to multiple leaks) than the i5-8600k, which can be easily made up by overclocking. Therefore , is it worth the wait? Help please

I'm starting a low cost build with an i3 8100 cpu which I see a deal for 98$ for it, It has become my understanding that Coffee Lake will drop in a month, and if so, Will the 8100 go lower in price? and by how much? What will the price of the 9th gen i3 be? Thanks in advance.

So i'm currently using the intel pentium g4560 and want to upgrade. Yes, i know that i'll also have to change the motherboard too. I managed to find a cheap b360 board so i don't mind. My question is since i'm on a super tight budget right now, should i just buy the i3 8100 and upgrade to i5 8400 in the future? Or should i just save up and keep the g4560 until i have enough money for the i5 8400?

Well, this is a little random, but it's from a legitimate source, so... https://twitter.com/Ashraf__Eassa/status/1029339603713581056 And thus the fabled Intel 14nm process gets another + after it. That makes 14nm+++. There was a rumor late last year that Whiskey Lake, the lower power part, would be on 14nm+++, so it does look like there will be another improvement cycle to the 14nm node. Cascade Lake is the next server release from Intel. It was scheduled for 14nm++, the same node as Coffee Lake, but it appears it has gotten even further enhancements from that. Cascade Lake-X will replace the Skylake-X line. Edit: Lenovo comes in for the confirmation. https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/faqs/pc-life-faqs/intel-whiskey-lake-and-cascade-lake-processors/ My Thoughts: For as much of a disaster that 10nm has been for Intel to get out the door, their 14nm node is the "Little Node That Could". Makes for a harsh comparison between 14nm, which is reaching Legendary status, and 10nm that still isn't out the door and 3 years late. Edit 2: It gets worse. https://twitter.com/Ashraf__Eassa/status/1029440772213563393 All of the jokes about the + on the end of 14nm are going to get worse.

Hey guys I got a great deal on an Alienware 17 R4 a few days ago. This is the 7700hq/GTX 1070 config. But I'm considering returning it and getting something with an 8750h/GTX 1060 instead for around the same price. Maybe the Alienware 17 R5. I'm thinking you could always upgrade the GPU later with the Graphics Amplifier external GPU. But CPU is soldered on MOBO so no upgrade ever. So I guess my question is, which of these will be better for gaming over the next 2-3 years? Should I keep my 17 R4 with the 7700hq/1070 or get something with an 8750h/GTX 1060 for the same price?

Hey all, my friend is a graphics designer. He needs a new laptop and he's very interested in the new xps 15 with coffee lake and a gtx 1050ti, he would like 4k and a super colour accurate display for around 2300 dollars. I'm not quite sure what to recommend. He has a wacom drawing pad that he uses and he doesn't have an issue with storage. He says 16 gig ram is preferable and an option for thunderbolt 3 to use his 1070 externally would be ideal. I thought maybe if he got an Asus gaming laptop with a 1070 and an 8750H for instance and used an external monitor for colour sensitive work that might be an option worth considering. What's your guys opinions?

Hello all; I was looking to upgrade my CPU from an i5-6600 to an i5-8600. In regards to overclocking (for those who ask), I am not really interested in it, plus I have never overclocked before, and I don't think I will in the future, but if you have any suggestions I am happy to take notes. On to the subject, now. With the help of other members on this site, I came to the realization that my current motherboard (MSI H110M PRO-D) is not compatible with the new i5-8600 Coffee Lake CPU. I in-turn then would need a new motherboard, so I was looking at the GIGABYTE Z370 HD3 https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813145041&ignorebbr=1&_ga=2.145558324.1682513420.1527553033-204270038.1527015807 but to be honest I do not quite know what I am looking for in a MOBO and what the difference is between others are. If any of you have any suggestions, I am all ears (preferably something not top-tier in terms of pricing). My other question is, would this motherboard (or any suggested one) be compatible with all my other hardware, CPU cooler, Graphics card, case, ect? Thank you for the help and suggestions Also, if you need links to my hardware I can provide. CPU:Intel Core i5 6600 @ 3.30GHZRAM:16.0GB 2133 Dual-Channel (DDR4)Mother Board: MSI H110M PRO-D (MS-7996)Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GBCase: Thermaltake Core X31 Power Supply: EVGA 500 W1CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro Series Cooling H75

I've been wondering which of these two is better in terms of daily performance. User data, not review websites. And when it comes down to it as a whole, is a true hex core usually better than a hyperthreaded quad core?

Hello All! I was looking to upgrade my Intel i5-6600 CPU to something a bit more powerful. I was originally looking at the Intel i7-7700k CPU because it can fit with my MOBO and plus it gives a considerable amount of more power. But I was also eyeing the i5-8400 Coffee Lake processor, but I would need to get a new motherboard with it. So is it worthwhile to spend a bit more and get the newer Coffee lake processor or does an older processor like the i7-7700k still a good choice for a CPU? Thanks, for the help an suggestions! Also here is my system: CPU:Intel Core i5 6600 @ 3.30GHZ RAM:16.0GB Dual-Channel (DDR4) Mother Board: MSI H110M PRO-D (MS-7996) Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Case: Thermaltake Core X31 Power Supply: EVGA 500 W1 CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro Series Cooling H75

And are the coffee lake line up affected by it. Been under the rock for quit some time and not up to date with the intel side news.

Hi everyone, so I want to change something about my PC but I'm not really sure what would be a right option. Currently my PC: CPU: Intel Pentium G4400 GPU: AMD Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5 model by Sapphire RAM: 1x8GB 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 HyperX black by Kingston MOBO: Gigabyte H110m DS2 DDR3 version PSU: 550W 80 Plus Gold Focus+ Gold by Seasonic I'm a CSGO but i experience huge frame drop and constant frame drops on this machine no matter which setting I use, I know that PC isn't anything special, depending on map in 5v5 I get between 10 and 150 fps, 10 because of drops, but i would like to get rid of them if that makes any sense . So my quastion is, what is better to do in this situation, should i just upgrade to i7 6700 or 7700 or even i5 kaby lake of skylake model or I should wait for some cheaper option of mobo for coffee lake , i3 8100 and DDR4 RAM? My budget is about 500$ but I also want to know if there is any possible solution for these drops but buying new hardware, I guess not but i have to ask haha. BTW Kaby Lake and Skylake CPU DDR3 RAM suggested voltage is rated at 1.35V mine is running at 1.5V. Could this be a problem my CPU i struggling, I mean i had higher average fps few months ago, I reinstalled windows 2-3 times in past 6 months but still, by Ulletical's csgo benchmark I lost average 40 fps.

So after about a month of planning, I finally got all of my parts for my new system. Here's the specs rundown: Specs: Intel Core i7 8700K CPUAsus Z370-A Prime MotherboardG.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB 3000Mhz RAMNZXT Kraken x52 AIO CoolerWD Black M.2 256GB SSDNZXT S340 Elite CaseTwo 120mm NZXT Aer RGB w/ Hue+EVGA GTX 1070 Ti SC Graphics CardEVGA G3 650W 80+ PSUASUS 1200AC WiFi cardPeripherals:LG 29UM68 29" Widescreen MonitorAlienware AW958 Elite MouseAlienware AW768 Elite Gaming Keyboard Logitech 2.whatever speakers w/ sub woofer that I've had for 8 years. So far I did a quick benchmark using Userbenchmark, and I got this: UserBenchmarks: Game 116%, Desk 108%, Work 104% CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K - 129.4% GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti - 120.5% SSD: WD Black NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB - 114.7% RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - 87% MBD: Asus PRIME Z370-A So overall, I'm pretty happy with how things turned out. As far as games: I launched Sea of Thieves at 2560x1080, with Mythical (highest) settings and averaged 95 FPS. I'm still about to test Doom, Skyrim, and Dead Space (my 3 favorites that I own). I'm also going to try out Rise of the Tomb Raider and Far Cry 5 pretty soon as well. Also waiting on my 2TB storage drive to show up, friend of mine is giving me his spare.

About five months ago, the processors i3-8100 and i3-8350K were already available on the 100/200 series motherboard, and then the other 8th processors such as i7-8700K were available for use on the motherboard half a month ago. These things happen in Asia. I wonder why nobody talks about these things? The pictures are from some BBS in Asia. Also, they have succeeded in making the Coffee Lake processor available on the laptop that has 100/200 series motherboard (Clevo). OMG! They have unveiled the perfect way about 6-core processor on 14th March! http://www.smxdiy.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=366&extra=page%3D1 I suggest you use your mobile phone to browse this link, because if you use the PC to browse this link, you will not see any images because you are not logged in. So I was scrolling through a classified listings site in my country, when I came across a pretty sketchy and according to my knowledge, impossible PC build. The PC this seller was selling caught my eye. Because it has and i3-8100 8th gen Coffee Lake CPU, but was on an ASUS H110M-ITX motherboard. Now if that wasn't sketchy enough, to finish the toppings on the cake, it comes with 16 GB of DDR3, yes, Double Data Rate THREE, RAM. Now, I'm quite aware that an ASUS spokesperson did talk about companies actually being able to use a BIOS update to allow compatibility with Coffee Lake, so it is a possibility, an extremely tiny one but a possibility nonetheless, that this person was some sort of BIOS god and managed to create a BIOS with support for these newer CPUs, but what I'm wondering is - how in the world did he make DDR3 RAM work with the 8th Gen Coffee Lake Core i3-8100, who's Intel ARK page clearly states that it only supports DDR4. And, how in the world did he even manage to fit the DDR3 RAM into the DDR4 motherboard? I was about 90% sure this PC wouldn't even boot, but somehow, after chatting with the seller for a bit, he sent me a picture with the computer displaying those exact specs! How can this be? It has to be a scam right?

Sup guys So I have a 8600k, and I'm having issues getting a stable overclock CPU just won't go any higher 4.7GHz, needing 1.35v on cpu to get Prime95 running fine, with high temps. I tried getting vcore up to 1.36v, but it just gets 100ºc at blend test and it fails. Well I'm not an expert on OC and the new bios voltage features these days (used to overclock on lga775, old times), so I attached a few images from BIOS and the Prime95 test. Any tips on what should I change to go a little higher?

I'm looking into finally upgrading from a i7 2600k to an i5 8600k but I'm a bit confused about the different motherboards and chipsets. The z370 motherboards are the only ones available at the moment, it looks like there are others coming soon that will be cheaper but what will be the difference and should I wait for them to arrive? Or should I look into getting a ryzen 5, although I've never been very interested in AMD's CPUs Thanks! Forgot to mention I will be wanting to overclock, is that feature exclusive to the Z370 motherboards?

Hey guys! I need a PC under 600 bucks which can perform good even after extended usage. I want it to last a while... I'm using it for programming Python. I don't do anything graphically intensive, so I may not need a graphic card if the CPU has integrated one. And the PC is strictly for programming. I need not need a monitor as I already have it (20 inches) I would like my build to have the latest processors so that it can be upgraded later on... I have also heard that the budget motherboards for the new 8th Gen processors is around the corner. So those in my build would be welcome too. A Ryzen is welcome too but I'm worried about the GPU prices as a Ryzen needs a GPU... A laptop would also be good, but laptops are underpowered in comparison to desktops(at the same price range). So I'm a bit worried about laptops Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I’m planning on buying a prebuilt pc with a gtx 1070 and i5 8400. It’s prebuilt so please don’t suggest other cpus because i can’t change it lol. But.. can this processor combined with the gtx 1070 deliver 100+ frames on most games? I don’t mind tweaking settings a bit. I know the 8400 is a beast in gaming but is it even good enough for 1080p 144hz? If i need to provide some more info on this : Gpu : gtx 1070 Cpu : i5 8400 mobo : MSI Z370-A Pro Z370 ATX Ram : DDR4 16gb 2400mhz Storage : 1tb hdd 250gb ssd Psu : coolermaster 700watt Cpu cooler : Cooler master Hyper 412 if anything else in this pc isn’t compatible for 1080p 144hz too, please let me know

Hey guys, Wanted an opinion on whether I should get an i5 8400 with a GTX 1070 or an i5 8600k with a GTX 1060 6gb. I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks
