I recently installed a Nzxt kraken x53 non rgb and it came with two 120mm Aer P radiator fans with chamfered intake and fluid dynamic bearings one of which has begun to make a horrible grinding noise to the point where I had to turn it off in the bios. I would obviously prefer to have both fans running to increase my cooling potential. I even removed the fan from the radiator to see if was an orientation problem and while it did quite down it nevered fully went away.

So I kinda disconnected my case fans right now because they were too loud. They were only stock fans as well. However, now its summer and stuff will get warmer, I think its healthier for my pc to do a bit more cooling. (rough specs, Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060, samsung evo ssd 1tb, tho there might be an upgrade to a higher end GPU, like 3070ti or smth like 40XX) My case is a fractal design define r5, I plan to do it in a positive static pressure configuration to avoid dust (which is a slight problem rn lol), meaning one intake at the bottom and two in the front, one fan out at the back. I cant really open the top since I always put stuff on there, so the only other option with slightly less pressure would be to open up the side hole that this case has and populate it with an output fan, but that would be even more fans and also not ideal noise-wise. Also, all intakes have a dust filter. Its 4 fans I want to buy, and I dont want to spend above 100€, but below that would be even better... Meaning the max price is 25€ per fan. That should be fine even with maglev right? So my question, what maglev fans are the best ones rn in my price range? tbh I am kinda overwhelmed by the ammount one can find. They dont need rgb since I wont see them anyway, which only gives me more options. My only requirement is them being fairly quiet and long-lasting as well as PWM so they can be slower or even off in idle config. Edit: forgot to mention, they should be 140mm as well, since I am unsure if 120 will fit. Probably yes, but the ones rn are 140, so why take the risk. And is it worth it to use a fan hub? I have 4 headers, so idk... Thanks for the answers in advance!

Hey guys! I'm currently working on a build in a lian li lancool 205 and everything seems to be in working order except the case fans. I've plugged the cables from the fan hub into their respective connections on the motherboard(ROG strix b550a) but the case fans are not spinning or lighting up. What should I do? I've tried plugging the fans in separately without the hub and they at least spin. Could it be a bad hub?

Hi there! So I think my case honestly needs more fans as well.... the only cooling solution I have is one fan built into the case, my CPU cooler and my GPU fans. (Yes I know dreadful) Im truthfully not sure how many fans I can fit on this case? I know I definitely can add one more. Im hoping for two at the front (Built in case fan included) and maybe 1 at the back if poss. My current build is this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/yVjcqm Im just wondering on what fans people suggest? I dont exactly need RGB as nothing else is really RGB. Just prefer functionality and preferably cheap if poss. Im from the UK so it'd need to be from a UK provider! Thank you everyone who can help!

I have a ASRock B550M-HDV and six case fans that all have 3 pin connectors, but they all also have the Molex connector. I connected the Molex connectors all to the power supply, but for some reason (I'm thinking that it's because the motherboard has no 3 pin connector) the motherboard's BIOS does not recognize the fans, so I cannot tweak their performance, so they are stuck at full power, which is very loud. I am in the process of switching my motherboard to an MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI, as the ASRock has a faulty PCIe slot. But the MSI PRO has only one 3-pin connector, and it's apparently for RGB. Should I just return the fans and get six 4-pin fans, or stick with the ones I have and figure it out? Any help is appreciated, please don't ride me too hard on my "noobness", I am decently new to PC building.

Budget (including currency): Just fans. As long at they're under $50 a piece Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Anything I run Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey everyone, I have a case called The Beast from Monster Labo, which usues a completely fanless design to passively cool the CPU and GPU, but it can only cool the GPU up to 250 W passively. If you run 2 fans as exhaust at the top, you can cool up to 320 W, and my goal is to cool around 300 W. In the video that LTT did with the case below, if you go to 20:04 in the video, you can see where he adds fans to the case and runs them at 800-850 RPM and is able to achieve the 320 watts of cooling for the GPU. So my question is, what are the most silent 140 mm fans out there that can still move a decent amount of air, and how in the world do you just set a fan to run at a steady RPM? I have an ASUS MoBo and for the life of me I can't figure out how to tell it to just stay at a certian RPM for the fans. Thanks for any help or advice!

I've been looking for some rgb fans to put on some radiators and case for a month now. And so far I haven't seen anything that would be ideal for a pull configuration. Basically not having the frame pointing into the case. So far the SWA fan Ex is the only fan that does what I want. I know it's very early in its life but does anyone have thoughts or opinions on the fans or reasons to avoid them? PS: Or even alternatives that clearly I have not seen yet

Hi. So I have had the silverstone rl06 redline case for a while now, but I feel like it would be nice to get some quieter fans. Also maybe some egg fans with more colors than just red. So I had a few questions 1. Is aftermarket case fans often better than stock fans in cases? Currently I am looking at the “arctic p12 pwm pst a rgb 0db” since I can get 3 fans for the same price as 1 Corsair ll120, but is the Corsair worth that much extra, or is the performance the same? 2. is it the case or motherboard the dictates how many fans I can plug in? 3. right now I have 3 front fans and 1 in the back, but if I bought 6 new fans would 3 in the front, 2 above and one in the back be better? thanks for all your input. Also let me know if you have any good suggestions to some good case fans

Hello! I recently finished my very first (stressful) PC build, however there is still one issue and I have no clue what causes it or how I can solve it. I searched on the internet but not really anything stood out as something useful. Since this is my first build there is of course a chance that I just messed up somewhere while building it. So, my issue, there is a lot of fan noise coming from my case (Fractal Torrent) as if the fans are spinning at max speeds (~50 dB). Based on reviews of the case it should only get this loud when temps are getting very high. I already contacted Fractal customer support but since I don't know how long it will take to receive a reply or if they even know the issue I thought I might as well also try to ask here. Below some specifications regarding the issue: - I let the fans run for over 10 hours now. No noise improvements. - Try wiggle the case fans to see if any of them are loose, they all seem to be screwed in well, no wiggles. - All 5 case fans are connected to the case's fan hub, from header FAN1 to 5 (according to the manual fan 1 decides the behavior of the other fans connected to the hub). Fan hub is connected to the motherboard (Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero) in fan header "chassis 2". - No adjustments were made to the fans or fan hub. - Using the bios fan curve control, I set the fan speeds at 20% lowest possible up to 30C degrees. According to monitoring software my case fans are turning at 500 rpm minimum. - After some testing, it seems that the 2 180mm case fans are quiet. The noise only appeared when I used the 3 140mm fans in the bottom of the case. - I hovered my hand over all 3 bottom fans. The front and back fans were turning, but I didn't feel any air getting blown out on both sides. The middle fan however was blowing a lot of air, as if it was running at max speed. It seems the middle bottom fan is possible the culprit, however I don't know what's causing it to behave differently from the other fans when they are all connected to the same fan hub. Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated! I put a HWMonitor screenshot (while idle) in the attachments in case that gives any information.

So my computer is in a rough state right now and has problems with cooling. I want to put my case fans below my gpu(the gpu's fan is broken and doesn't spin at all) so it doesn't thermal throttle. In doing so, I had the idea of removing the side panel so the rest of the system gets "passive" cooling. So my question is, will my computer need front and back fans if the side panel is off or will it be relatively fine. (btw my cpu is fine and doesn't have any problems)

Howdy there good peeps of LTT My mobo (MSI B450M-A PRO MAX) only have 2 fan headers, One of them is used by the CPU cooler and on the Second on I currently running a splitter cable through which I can connect all of fans but the issue is that I can't control there speed this way. In BOIS or through MSI software that shows up as only two fans connected. What I want is a solution through which I can plug all 5 fans in but still be able to control my fan speeds individually. The catch is the budget. I know that corsair makes an hub called Commander Pro XT but it's $50 and I am not sure if the mix match of fans that I have will work with that but it's out of question as I am not gonna spend $50 on that alone. What I want from you guys is advice in finding a hub that is a solid good reliable product but is cheap (As cheap as possible without compromising quality) and a good bundle of five 120mm fans that are quite and will work with the hub. OR I am not sure that product like this paired with any fan hub (I don't know which hub can be used with these) Will give me the option to individually tune each fan through software like "Fan Control" and if they do Please do let me know of a reasonably good brand that have a bundle like that. I don't want nor care about any RGB whatsoever so this will help lowering the price too. Would highly appreciate if you could recommend me products (preferably with links) that will work together and give me the ability to control each fan. Hey everyone! First time builder here. I recently purchased parts for a new build. The 200r was highly recommended for the quality/price of it. It has 1x120mm fan in the front and 1x120mm fan in the back. I bought 2x120mm Arctic F12 Silent (3pin) to add to my case but I'm not sure where to put them in order to optimize performance. The Corsair 200r has two available spots on top, two available spots on bottom and two available spots on the sidepanel. Also, I have a Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo CPU fan. From my quick research, it seems that a rule of thumb is to fill TOP before BOTTOM or SIDE, so I'm thinking put one on top (Pushing Out) and one on side (Pushing Out)? Also, I'm not sure if this information is necessary but I have 2 cats and lots of carpet so hair will be present... I don't know why I'm sharing that since dust and hair will probably make its way inside my PC but maybe it changes things! I appreciate any help I can get! I'm here to learn! Cheers!

Hello looking for better air flow and positive pressure. 2 120 intakes in front pushing through the cpu cooler radiator. one 120 exhaust on top and 120 rear exhaust )where everyone’s exhaust is lol temp are ok but looking to make this ideal. Currently has negative air pressure when the fans get going. 20801i gpu so it pumps out some heat. 9900k seems to be cooled fine by liquid with rad where it is. any suggestion for best possible air flow and making it positive pressure. can likely add a pic when I get home

note: English is not my first language! so, I am kind of new to the computer world, I can basics. So one day I bought a pre-build computer from lenovo (Lenovo Legion T530-28ICB) and experiences that the case is warming up to the point there i could burn my hand if i touch it under loade. I tried to increas the RPM on the fans that is already installed in the systems, but I could'nt because i can't find anything about fans or fan info in the bios, i tried to install SpeedFans but the program did'nt pick up the fans. I opened the computer, all fans have 4 cables and what i have seen, 4 cable is 4-pin, and 4-pin always have a PWM cable, right? Can i somehow control the speed of the fans? or should i replace them with others like noctua or cooler master. This is the front intake fan:

I want to get the Inwin 101 to put my current build in, but I'm not sure how to configure the fans. I also want to upgrade my air cooler to a 240mm aio. The case has two front fans, 3 bottom fans, and an exhaust in the back. What's the best way to configure this case if I were to put the 240 aio on the front? System Specs: Ryzen 7 2700x Scythe Ninja 5 (soon to be a kraken x63 or x52, trying to see if the 280mm will fit) Gigabyte aorus elite b450 16gb 3000mhz corsair vengeance (upgrading to trident z rgb 3600mhz soon) Gtx 1070 blower style (basically got it for free from a package deal and it's definitely a step up from the 750ti I had in there previously) (wanting to get a 2070super soon) Evga SuperNOVA g3 650 80+ gold Recommendations?

What fan configuration would you guys recommend for better airflow? I've currently got the top 2 radiator fans setup at intakes with auto speed in the bios. Rear fan running at Full Speed Exhaust and Front 3 Fans running at Full Speed Intakes, AIO pump running at full speed. My only concern is I'm not sure if I should have the radiator fans as intake or exhaust? Photo is attached. Thanks for your help. Heya guys, Not sure if anyone was waiting for it, but the last time I heard, Lian-Li's new Unifan design was supposed to come out "Q2 2020." That was last reported in CES this january before COVID really took off over at their factory area. So I though, hey, why not send a message and see if they would tell me either an updated release window or maybe even a date. You can read the correspondence below, but spoiler alert, they said release window is now Q3 2020 and that they were at 100% at the factories. Message sent to them Hello, I have searched online about any information regarding the release date of your uni-fan concept last shown at CES 2020, and the last information heard was Q2 of 2020. Now that we are entering Q2, considering the increased impact of COVID-19 to most factories and distribution, is that still so? Also, if you are able to share at this time, a more narrow release window? Thank you kindly for your time and any information you are able to share. Sincerely, *REDACTED* ---------- Reply back from them Hello *REDACTED*, Uni-fan is the new product that will be launched in Q3 J Our factory in China affected by COVID-19 in Feb. But we already back to work with 100% capacity in the middle of March J Thanks! Best Regards, Sandy Chen TEL: *REDACTED* FAX: *REDACTED* Skype: *REDACTED* www.lian-li.com

So, I’ve been browsing for information recently for my future build. After looking at my motherboard (ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero; yeah, it’s overkill. Every other option i wanted was out of stock), I realized it only had 3 case fan headers (CHA_FAN), yet I have 4 fans. I did some research and build guide watching, and I saw that you can plug a fan into the AIO_PUMP header, and I believe (as long as you aim to the right like with the case fans) you can plug a 3-pin fan into it too. However, in my research I found some setbacks. I saw in my mobo manual that the AIO_PUMP header does not support Q-Fan Control like the case and cpu fan headers. Instead, it shows that it runs at full power, and looking online, I confirmed that. I saw that you can add a custom curve to it to override that, but I didn’t know how to do it in the ASUS BIOS (the thing I found was for an MSI mobo: ). So, my questions are: A. Am I right in everything I said thus far? B. Do I need to do anything so that the 3-pin fans still change speed based on temperature like the 4-pin ones? C. How do I either add a custom curve to the AIO_PUMP fan or give it the same functionality as the ones plugged into my CHA_FAN headers? D. If I have to add a custom curve on the fan, is there a way to copy the other fans curves so that they are identical? E. My configuration is a Corsair 460X RGB with the 3 included SP120 fans plus one extra. Which fan should I plug into the AIO_PUMP header, if it matters? This is a loaded post, so thanks for any help you can give. Stay healthy! EDIT: I would also prefer to avoid using a splitter because I know there is a way to do it normally with the AIO_PUMP, I just don’t know how to do it on this mobo.

Hey, I was just installing my new silent wings 3 in my case. I was using the anti vibration pads that came with the Fans, and then i noticed that a cable was too short to reach the motherboard pwm connector. So i wanted to mount them different so the cable would be long enough but the pins in the rubber vibration pads just wont come off. Does anyone know what to do in order to remove that pin?

Hi there, i just installed my first pc build this monday, but my cpu temps were really high in benchmarks and while playing warzone. Like 90-95c hot. My idle temps are around 40-50. Most time 45c, but spikes up and down when opening programs Its like 70-80c in csgo and valorant and like 80-85 in fortnite. all on the highest ultra settings and fixed at 144fps. So because of those temps i just installed 2 140mm arctic p14 pwm pst fans in the front of my meshify c as intakes. 1 140mm arctic p14 pwm pst on top as exhaust 1 120mm stock meshify c on top as exhaust 1 120mm stock meshify c at the rear as exhaust. PSU is facing down CPU cooler is amd wraith stealth so stock Is this case fans setup good or should i remove something. BTW i have 5 of those 140mm but i can only install 4 in this case, but i installed the 120mm up top because i couldnt fit the 2nd 140mm up top, because the cpu power 8 pin is in the way and i cant really bent it because its too hard. Could someone also help me with the fan curves and tell me if i have to turn something else on or off? I want to build a new pc, and I'm trying to figure out a case to buy. I looked at the Antec NX800, but I'm a little confused with the fans and led controller. My motherboard only has one fan header and no rgb/argb headers. Can I still connect the led controller? How does it work? I tried looking it up but I'm really new in this area and I couldn't understand.

I'm planning to buy an AIO for my PC, which is running on Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660, Gigabtye Aorus elite x570 and XPG d60g 3600 ram. I'm really liking the looks of Deepcool Castle 240 rgb AIO but I'm also planning to get the corsair 3 pack ML120 fans or maybe even the QL if I save up. But if I took the Deepcool, I wouldn't be able to sync it up with the fans since deepcool only works with Mobo software from what I know. But if I took corsair AIO, like the H100i, I would only need to use Icue and have more fun and flare with the RGB (And also have control when to shut it off when I need to) So, should I just get the Deepcool and mixed it with Corsair fan or should I get the Corsair one? I can't really decide and like to know some others point of view lol

So, I'm looking at building a new PC. Have been for a while. I want to make sure everything will fit without a problem. This is the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jmich96/saved/9W9t8d - Will the NH-D15 fit with both fans, with the RAM installed? - Will I be able to fit 15mm (slim) fans under the GPU? - Is the NF-S12A or the NF-F12 optimal for the rear exhaust fan? Also, the motherboard (as all my reasonably priced options) only has 1 fan header available for a case fan. I'm only left an option to install a fan hub. Is the fan hub in my part list optimal? Can someone link me a smaller (but still reliable) PWM fan hub? I'd really like one I could mount on the rear side of my case, where it is unseen, and plug it into the bottom (not CPU) fan header.

With the imminent release of Ryzen 5 in April I have decided to replace my current build with a new Ryzen build. I will be using the Phanteks P400 Tempered Glass case and the CPU will be cooled by a Swiftech H240-X2. This case has the motherboard mounted higher than usual due to the full psu shroud making top mounting of rad impossible. My question is, with the rad mounted in the front of the case would it be better to use the rear three fans as intakes and blow all the air through the front, possibly sacrificing CPU temps due to already hot air being pushed through the rad, or still use the front as an intake and introduce warm air into the system rather than cold air? Full proposed build: -Ryzen 5 1600x(with a moderate overclock) -Asus Strix RX-480 OC 8GB -Asus Prime B350 Plus Motherboard -Swiftech H240-X2 -16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB -Evga Supernova 750 G1 -3 additional Noctua 140mm A-14 PWM fans for the back and the pre-installed fans on the AIO (Not sure if necessary but will give a good idea of the heat and cooling solutions I will be working with)
