Hi there! I could use some recommendations on how to go about building a PC from a 1980’s IBM Acrylic Monitor Stand. This stand used to be my grandfather’s when he was an IBM Executive from ‘69 to ‘03. He passed in Jan. Of ‘23, so I want to build essentially “The Last New IBM PC” in his memory but am not sure how to go about it. Its intended purpose is to handle like a mid-tier gaming PC of today’s standards with IBM blue-and-white LEDs. I know most of the hardware will need to be laid flat unlike a modern case, as well as the whole thing will need to be grounded to the power supply individually. I believe air cooling can be pretty well done with fans lining the sides, but I could be wrong. Drilling holes is required no matter which way you look at it. The dimensions are 16 in. X 16 in. X 3 in. Inside height. Please, do share some ideas so that I may start planning out this build.

Hey all, Our school is starting an esports team. They are willing to build 16 machines but we want to get the cost of each machine around $800-1200. Games being played are not crazy graphic intense. Rocket League, fortnite, brawlhalla, MC, and possibly in the future cod and CS2. We just want to make sure they last 4-5 years. We are reaching out to the community to see if they can recommend us some builds and prices, Newegg, Amazon, etc .. We have extra money for monitors, keyboard, mouse desk, chairs. If anyone is interested in submitting builds around that price range for the tower only we would be appreciated

So I’ve recently gotten a gaming laptop (Can you guess which one tho?) and got a desk with a monitor some LED lights with a mic mouse and keyboard (Can you guess what ones they are). Since this is my first sort of gaming set up what’s your opinions on it? What could I do better? (Sadly cable management is something that doesn’t exist in this set up)IMG_8121.heic

Hello Guys I was looking at my cables whime the pc was on and tried to move some out the way but accidentaly touched a gpu fan.there was no display afterwards. I restarted my pc and its working fine for now. Could i damaged something or shorted something? Is there a test to see it. I can normally boot on the pc and play games.

Budget (including currency): 3500£ Don't have to reach it obv xD! Can also go slightly over budget if needed. Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Want to run most games in 4k ultra settings. ( cyberpunk, warframe and most AAA titles etc ) always running 2 monitors. Also streaming for friends. Sometimes OBS video editing. Other details RGB is very much welcome. Only need Pc we got monitors ( 4k and 1440p ) mouse etc are not needed. Also note got 1 unused yet WD black SN850 nvme with heatsink Gen 4 1tb. Would like to put it in. Edited due to fiance deciding she prefers trinket pft >.> please forgive me for that. On to the build: Hello everyone as title says revisitng after almost 7 years. Last build You beautiful humans did for me runs till this day : https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/RKsKLD . Which I am utterly greatful for. Figured it's time to upgrade for me ( I really want to game in 4k on max settings ) so came seeking advice. Decided to put extra budget and make 4k gaming rig with some RGB that will present itself nicely. Besides the 1TB nvme which I own already would like 2tb as extra to have 3tb in total. I Would love to rig last at least 5+years like previous one. Question about watercooling is it really bad to have nowdays? Are fans better nowdays more reliable? Want to have enough airflow as well in build extra doesn't hurt. Will order parts on prime day ( maybe something will go on sale 10th/11th this month ) Could you also explain briefly why You chose these parts as well. Sorry for asking so much and for editing it randomly. ( After build will be done I will come back and show it in here ^^ ) Best regards and thank you in advance.

Budget (including currency): 1700 Euro Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Deep learning Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have a monitor that is 2k and 144hz. I hope you're all doing well! I'm in the process of putting together a new PC build and would greatly appreciate your feedback on these builds. I will be building my pc for the very first time. So, I am excited (also bit anxious) about building my own. Here's what I've got so far (Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4070, Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker). PCPartPicker Part List: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/9yvvfy CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF 3.5 GHz 14-Core Processor (Purchased For €270.00) CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK620 DIGITAL 68.99 CFM CPU Cooler (€77.90 @ Alza) Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B660-F GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard (€218.89 @ Amazon Deutschland) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory (€109.99 @ Galaxus) Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Purchased For €108.00) Video Card: Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB Video Card (Purchased For €599.00) Case: Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case (€109.90 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: Asus ROG-STRIX-850G 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For €96.00) Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE 47.7 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack (Purchased For €44.00) Total: €1633.68 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2023-09-24 01:40 CEST+0200 I'm mainly planning to use this build for Gaming and doing some Deep Learning tasks (I have to stick to 4070 due to budget reasons) and I have already purchased some of the parts (marked above). I am also fan of RGB. That is why I am preferring RGB as much as possible on my build. Here are a few specific questions and concerns I have: Do you see any major flaw or any concern in the build? any bottle neck issues that you can see? I am not sure about the CPU cooler. I have read that Deep cool ak620 or be quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler is very good for intel 13600kf. Do you have any suggestion for a good RGB air cooler that is good for this build. How is the motherboard? I don't plan to do any overclocking. I can save some money by going for ddr4 version of the mother board and RAM (build here: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZHB9N6). However I am thinking that after few years ddr5 will be standard, hence potentially I could use the ddr5 RAM in the future build. Would this make sense?

Budget (including currency): Currently ~5k GBP but can be much higher if it will have real benefit Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, everything from Minecraft to recent AAA and everything in between. Also some programming & AI work. Probably going to be transferring files between it and my MacBook Pro a fair bit so Thunderbolt is nice for the fast transfer speeds. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Planning out a bit of an ultimate PC build, only peripherals I currently have are a Logitech G Pro Wireless & a Thunderbolt 3 Dock from Anker, both of which I use for my laptop atm. Want to build something with top of the line performance, that'll have a good amount of longevity built from scratch. It's also been a while since I've built a PC, so something not too difficult/complicated to build would be nice. No real preference for case/aesthetics, it would be nice if it looks good but that's secondary to performance to me. Below I've put what I've come up with on PCpartpicker, but I'd love suggestions/feedback, as I'm really just guessing/reading some reviews/hoping it's all compatible & good. Likely going to buy within a month unless there's something coming out for really soon which would make waiting worth it either price or performance wise. Thanks! So, I want to build a PC and I have found the parts I want. what I want to know is if any of these pieces are incompatible and any potential workarounds if they are. Budget (including currency): around 3000 - 4000 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for/others: So basically i had like 2 other posts abvout upgrading (1 about a year ago and the other like back in may) so sorry about posting so much >< Long story short had an electrical fire at old apartman and pc burned down. So i wanted to build a new one asap but an oportunity came and i bought a friends old pc for dirt cheap (100€) which had almost the identical specs of my old pc only the caase is different. I plan on using the new pc mainly for gaming, but i will use fl studio, blender, unity, ue5, will do some programming, myb stream and video edit a bit (highlights for friends and a few requests) The current pcs specs are here: - MOBO: Asus ROG Strix X370-F Gaming - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700x - CPU cooler: Be Quiet! Dark rock pro 4 - RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb 3000mhz - GPU: Asus ROG Stirx Geforce GTX 1080 - PSU: Corsair RM750x 750 Watt - Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB m2 ssd, WD Black 1TB HDD I already have a keyboard, mouse and headset but i want to buy a new monitor. Im thinking about getting a 1440p monitor but not sure which one to get tho, any reccomedations? Oh and recently i got a brand new PSU that i won (FSP Hydro Ti PRO ATX 3.0 1000W 80+ titanium) so i wont be needing any, since i can just use this one. For CPU i dont know what to go with. Should i buy a ryzen 7800x3d/7950x or should i wait for the 14th gen intel which comes out soon? (I just dont know what to pick honestly couse i dont want it to burn down like youtubers showed 4090 card and amd cpus) I also put together a part list with an amd cpu lmk what do you think. ( https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/2Y9y4M ) Idk if its any good or not but i need a ton of storage and would want to only use m2 ssds. So it would be great if the mobo had 3 m2 ssd slots that i can use. I'd prefer an aio for a cleaner look, min 32gb of ram and 1 faster m2 ssd for workloads, the others would be used for games and such.

Hello LTT Community, I am rebuilding a Mackie DXB 200, it's essentially a console that hosts it's OS on Windows 32Bit Systems. Currently, I plan to have the system run Windows POS Ready 32bit in the endgame, and I am compiling components based off of an upgrade list Provided from a group chat. Due to TOS i can't really share the guide I'm following but I can share the purchase list from Ebay! My main concerns are that the parts are scarce and i want to be clear, i want to follow the guide word for word to avoid FF-ing shiz up. Apparently the Mackie Software is just that unstable and finicky. The RAM is the culprit in question. I will be Able to buy either: 1. 1x Stick of 4gb 2. 1x Stick of 8gb 3. 2x Sticks of 8gb for 16gb 4. 4 Sticks of 8gb for 32gb I know a 32bit system is only going to be capable of 4gbs, but I want to make use of dual channel on the MB. Is it safe to drop the 16gb set in my MB? Or should I just stick with one stick of 4gb ram? Another question would be if I am good with the components Here? It looked like nothing was incompatible, but a second pair of eyes would be nice. Thanks guys!

Hey! I need everyone's opinion on what processor should i get for my new GPU! I am from Hungary with an 800k Ft budget, which is around 2200 USD. (not really important ) The only thing i will be using my PC beside minor tasks is heavy gaming. After all these years it feels like AMD is in a good place and i decided to try a full AMD build. The GPU implied is the AMD Radeon 7900 XT. I will only be using one monitor at all times which is 1080p and 240Hz (free sync). I might upgrade later to a 21:9 1440p or a 16:9 4k monitor with 120/120+ refresh rate. The thing i am most worried about is bottlenecking... What are your recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Budget (including currency): Around $500 USD Country: US Gaming: Horizon Zero Dawn, Hitman World of Assassins, Alan Wake Remastered, Spider-man 2, Death Stranding, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War etc. (a mix of newer linear and open world titles as well as some indie) Emulation (Yuzu, RCPS3, PCSX2) Programs: Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier mainly), Blender, Unreal Engine 5 Current Build: CPU - i7 4790 Motherboard - PC5F7 RAM - 16gb GPU - Zotac 1070ti Mini Case - Optiplex 9020mt Storage - 500gb SSD, 4tb HDD PSU - EVGA 750 GQ 80+ Gold Planned PC: MOBO - Gigabyte B660M AORUS ELITE AX DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard CPU - i5-12600K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor OR i3 (12th Gen) i3-12100 Quad-core (4 Core) 3.30 GHz CPU Cooler - White NZXT T120 RGB 50.18 CFM CPU Cooler RAM - White Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 CASE - White NZXT H5 Flow RGB ATX Mid Tower Case Existing Parts/Bringing from current PC: PSU - EVGA 750W GQ 80 Plus Gold Semi-Modular Main Storage - WD Blue 500GB SATA SSD Secondary Storage - 4tb WD Blue HDD 5400 RPM GPU - Zotac 1070 ti Mini (Dual Fan) Main Monitor - 22" Sceptre 1080p 60hz Secondary Monitor - 20" Sceptre 1080p 60hz Keyboard - CoolerMaster SK650 Mouse - Razer Death Adder 2013 I'm looking to get the parts for this new PC from now till early January. My main goal is to build a lower budget machine that's future proof to upgrade down the line. I know this won't instantly give me the highest quality gaming due to the 1070 ti and 1080p low hz monitors. But those will be upgraded down the line. I stuck with DDR4 as it's cheaper and I believe will perform great for the price even when compared to DDR5. As for the motherboard, I was looking for again mid range price with an LGA 1700 socket while retaining M.2 slots, RGB and fan headers, many USB 2.0, USB 3.0+ and USB C ports/headers, built in Bluetooth (the wifi is unnecessary but seems to come with the Bluetooth which is a must for me), BIOS USB. I also want something that will Aesthetically match the rest of the build including the GPU. A benefit of the case I picked is airflow, it comes with two front panel RGB fans and the dedicated 120mm GPU fan as the 1070 ti runs very hot even with 2 fans and down clocked in my current PC. If anyone has recommendations on changes in parts additions etc. that would be greatly appreciate. Especially if you have experience with Emulation on something like the i3 vs. i5 listed!

Budget (including currency): $2,000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Diablo 4, FL Studios Other details: Currently my best friend is running on a 5+ year old machine with a Ryzen 7 2700x 3.7ghz processor, a 1080 ti, and 16gb of RAM. Unfortunately he's running into crashing issues and we can't seem to identify the root. So building a new PC is in the discussion while he finds an alternative for the old machine. That being said, I pulled a list on PC Part Picker of what I would recommend for his budget of $2,000. However I know that sometimes parts work in theory but not in practice, so I wanted to run it by a community to get additional thoughts. I've attached a screenshot of the listed components. Thanks!

Budget (including currency): £1000 (ideally £900-£1000) Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I have generally decided to go for an Intel chipset just due to the type of loads I will be placing onto the PC. I will be playing games such as F1 23, Forza Motorsport (both with an Oculus Quest 1*) and FPS such as COD, Apex etc. I am also studying engineering so using CAD software is a requirement, although that is another reason as to why I'm choosing Windows and Intel. Also, I shouldn't expect it to be much of a dealbreaker as my current laptop with 8GB of RAM and Intel Integrated Graphics can handle it very well. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I've got a 144Hz 1080p display and all other peripherals I need, although I would want to ability to be able to use 1440p and possibly even 4k in the not so far future. I'm likely to buy around Christmas time and so advice on the prices around that time would be great (I will also likely buy parts on Black Friday if there are any amazing deals). This is the parts list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VHBCJy, any advice is wanted and very welcome! * Off topic, can someone please tell me as to whether or not, if I download games from the Xbox desktop app, I can use VR on them, and do you just plug in your headset and your ready to go?
