Is this a pretty good build? I already have a case and the power supply that is listed along with some mechanical hard drives for extra storage. Hello I really need help finalizing my build for content creation, coding. So far I have two versions, but both of them are missing the GPU as I have no clue which one to choose and which one would fit my needs and budget the best. Should I choose Ryzen 7 3700X or Ryzen 5 5600X? Should I go with 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL16 for RAM? For PSU, is 550W going to be enough or should I go for 650W? I also need help finding a good monitor. My budget for the whole project is 1700-1800€, but for the build with the monitor is around 1200€ as I still have to buy a pen display - Huion Kamvas which will be around 250€ + peripherals. Please, help me with the fine-tuning of this project, as I would like to start learning and working on it in December. So for my first time PC build, I'm building the $500 budget gaming PC from one of Linus's recent videos. (https://youtu.be/3dEfc9LL9bQ) I'm looking over the parts list in Parts Builder, and I noticed the one conflict is something that Linus mentioned in the video: "Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." If I'm using a Ryzen 3 3100, what specifically will I need to get in order to make this work? Also any changes are welcome based on what you see fit in the build also want to know if the mobo is any good for an mATX one.

Budget (including currency): $300 - $600 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch, Minecraft, OBS, eSports titles, OBS, etc Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have all of the peripherals that I think I need: mouse (Logitech G305), keyboard (Steelseries Apex 5), mousepad (Steelseries large), headset (Steelseries Arctis 3), and I'll have a fine monitor by the time I finish building this rig . So this is JUST about the PC parts and rig as a whole. I currently use all of this on a 2019 Macbook Pro 15" (school and work, not changing, I love macOS sorrynotsorry) and on my Xbox 1S (very limited mouse and keyboard support). I would like to move over to PC gaming with the new console generation, so I'm hoping to only spend around what the new consoles will cost at launch hopefully with similar (if not better) specs. in terms of games I play now and plan on playing: I spend a lot of my time paying Overwatch (Xbox), Tomb Raider (Xbox), fun indies (Xbox/Switch), fighting games (xbox, switch), and adventure games (usually Switch). I usually skip AAA's, or play them on my xbox, so this thing doesn't need to be a beast. I would love to play good looking games around 60fps with high resolution, or competitive games at around 144fps at medium resolution. Long story short, this doesn't need to be crazy lol. I'm also pretty handy with trouble shooting and fixing funky hardware, so I'll be using suggestions from this to look for sales, deals on ebay, craigslist, etc. over the next year or two. Let me know if you're running something that it sounds like would work for me, or if you've got some ideas to share I'm not in a hurry, so have fun! (I'l probably check back in on this every day or so) Some specs/ guidelines that I'm using: - Budget, so so very budget. Ebay and refurb are my best friend - low(ish) power consumption - cooling doesn't matter (I just want it to be easy/ low maintenance) - AMD v. Intel doesn't matter (Kinda leaning AMD but idc) - I love the idea of upcycling and reusing material (cases or used products or whatever I can get away with) Tl;Dr: 1st time budget gaming rig using discount/2nd hand parts, no peripherals needed, for esports titles Thank you!!

$1,200 - $1,400 USA Photo editing - Lightroom and Photoshop (layers, blending, stitching) for A7 II RAW files / Gaming - WoW BfA, Diablo 3, PoE, DotA, LotR, ESO, CoD, BF1, Witcher, Dark Souls (in order of importance). Will need all components of a PC build - monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers (if not integrated with monitor) and/or headset, case, and psu. Main objective is compactness and upgradability. For example, I can find the Ryzen 5 2600X for a great price and B450 boards are cheap - these boards can also be used for a future upgrade to, say, Ryzen 7 3800X; although, keep in mind most B450 boards I am seeing for Micro ATX don't go past 3200 memory speeds and the sweet spot for the Zen 2, as I am led to believe by studies, is 3600; moreover, this also brings RAM into the picture as I would like something that can scale to 3200 C14 and 3600 C16. Since "future proofing" is what I am mostly after, in terms of upgradability, the new 4000 series AMD chips will not be supported by B450; additionally, if the new 4000 series has a new 'sweet spot' for RAM, I would like my memory to have the ability to OC past 3600 stable. RAM to be considered is 32GB with the board allowing me to add an additional 2 sticks to total 64GB. Monitor - if possible, 27" 1440p 120Hz/144Hz IPS. IPS since this will essentially double as an editing monitor and color accuracy is important. I would ideally like to only be switching out CPU and GPU in the future to reduce how much money I 'lose' out on. Most importantly is your experience and feedback. Feel free to leave constructive criticism on my ideas above as it would help me understand more about PC building. Thank you all for the time you took to read this.

I'm pretty excited to run this past you guys and see what you think because it's almost been 8 years since my last build. I have $800 in Amazon Canada e-gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so this is a "mostly" Amazon.ca only budget build. Since it's been awhile I just wanted to make sure that everything i've got makes sense, and double check that I haven't made a terrible mistake with any of my parts. Here was my criteria for this build: I can't spend more than $200 out-of-pocket. Everything else has to be spent with my Amazon gift cards. I'm really only going to be playing CSGO and Valorant on it, besides some workstation use. 200+ FPS is the goal. The build needs to be upgradable to higher-end 3000 series Ryzen CPU. Must be able to at least handle a 2080 Ti or a 5700xt as a future upgrade. No Ketchup & Mustard PSU cables. I've broken the build prices down between CAD & USD because I was hoping somebody could tell me if i'm getting a relatively good value on these parts compared to my neighbors down under. I have a Intel i5-4590, a Corsair 8GB RAM and a ASUS H81 Motherboard Lying around and thought I'll making a Gaming PC out of it by adding a RX 460 to it. I need a Power Supply and thought of using a small 450W PSU which isn't really rated since I don't need to connect the RX 460 with additional Power. Hi, I'm looking for a complete AMD build for my friend and which should be adequate enough to be game for next 4 years with decent performance (at least 40 fps only) and if no, then shall I make him wait for ryzen 6/5 whenever if its going to launch. If you wan't to know the budget, it's INR 55k, so suggest us by going into in.PCPARTPICKER.com as stuff in USD doesn't help because of heavy import duty. P.s. - We're going for ASUS Dual-Fan Radeon Rx 480 4GB OC Edition AMD Gaming Graphics Card with DP 1.4 HDMI 2.0 DUAL-RX480-O4G DUAL 4GB All kinds of suggestion are welcomed (we can rest with intel too). I want to run pcsx2 and dolphin at full 60 fps and also would like to run older titles such as world at War. I have a ps4 to run newer games but that would be a plus if I could run those too. I'm stuck between which processor to buy, a 7th gen pentium, i3 7100 or should I just go ahead and get a i5 7500. I'm trying to stick to a 400-550 budget so I don't know if I should buy a 4gb rx 480 for 180$ and i5 7500 because that takes up alot of my budget. Any feedback is appreciated. I've also been under the impression that emulators are heavy on cpu so Idk if I should spend less on the gpu and more the gpu. Thanks

This build came about as a fix to some, admittedly, first world problems. First of which, My son had an aging XBox 360 that took several minutes to boot up, and even then had trouble connecting to the local wifi. Secondly, His school had assigned him a web based reading program that doesn't seem to work well with his Cheap $50 tablet. So i decided it was time for him to have his own PC. We set out to build him a machine that met a few key requirements. Schoolwork was top priority, so basic web browsing (with age appropriate limitations), word processing/ Spreadsheet functions. Next on the list was the ability to Stream Movies ie; Netflix and Youtube. Lastly casual gaming such as, Minecraft and some slightly older Lego games. With that all that (especially the gaming part), and our meager $300 budget, used parts were the way to go. We started at Craigslist. Almost immediately scoring an Intel Pentium G4400 Dual-core 3.3 Ghz processor, still sealed in the box, for just $40 (U.S. If you were wondering). And with it's LGA1151 Socket, this provides and Easy upgrade path in the future. Next we went to our local Big box store and managed to get a Msi H110m-a1 Micro-ATX motherboard open box for another $40, giving us 2 DDR4 DIMM slots, a single Pcie x16 slot, and a Pcie x4 Slot.Things were looking pretty good from here. Moving on, we purchased a single 8gb stick of Ballistix sport 2400mhz DDR4 ram to leave a spare slot, once again thinking forward. That unfortunately set us back $55, being the best deal we could find, making it the single most expensive part of the build. Needing something to house and power all this, we took to Newegg. Snagging a flashy, but functional Diypc Solar-M1-r for about 35 bucks. Offering support for a full size ATX motherboard, 2 3.5 inch hard drives and a supplementary 2.5 inch drive as well as Two 5.25inch drive bays. It gives us plenty of room to work and expand down the road. Additionally ordering ourselves an EVGA 430w 80+ white power supply for another $35+shipping to supply all the force lightning the Lego evil emperor needs . For Storage we managed to get ourselves of a 320gb hard drive for free from a derelict laptop that a family member no longer needed. So finally we needed something to draw the frames. It was back to Craigslist, we eventually scoured up a Gigabyte Gtx560Ti OC edition with 1gb VRAM for a scant $25. Not the best card available But it is more than adequate to run light gaming loads at 720p with no problems at all. Utilizing his 32 inch 720p lcd tv as a display saved us the cost of a monitor and even gained a few inches of viewing display for those late weekend nights watching Kung fu panda. For the Operating system we again took the Free route, opting for an inactivated copy of Windows 10 Allowing Me as Dad to use my Digital parenting power to limit his exposure to... well most of the web. To the homework end we chose Apache Open office as our free Microsquish alternative. Adding up to only about $245 with shipping we were able to include the Logitch k270 wireless keyboard and mouse combo at $30 and just cause we could, a 1 foot Logisys remote controlled Rgb strip at 17 bucks. Bringing us to the screaming cheap total of just... Drum Roll Please.. $292. Links to the products we use will be shown below, and No I was not sponsored by anyone for this build. I was wanting to get a PC upgrade and have a budget of $1000 USD and don't know if i should go team blue or team red. I've already set on a radeon rx480 but don't know if i should spend the $200 on a core i5 6600k or go for a Pentium, or just get a fx-6300 and put the extra towards something else. I'm mostly going to be doing video editing and some moderate gaming and want it to look awesome too. I would really appreciate some suggestions on and decent PC for under $1000. And please use some amazon links if possible. Thanks!

"In total this build cost me 210.97USD and took less than 1 hour to complete." This was a build I did as a fun project to make a decent 'desktop use' computer for the least money I could, but wanted it to be something I could replicate, at least to a certain degree. It ended up looking something like this: The main goal was to pick up a computer for around the price of Windows 10, with windows 10. I was able to grab this for around 119.99USD. As you can tell there was a mislabel on the CPU, it listed an Intel Core 2 Duo E7600, and shipped with an i3-2100. This mislabel makes me a little more wary of refurbished listings, but I won't complain about a small jump in performance. I then picked up a r7 240 (didn't trust the integrated) and a Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow for the boot drive. These cost me 45.99USD and 44.99USD at the time of purchase. The setup was very simple, I shoved the hardware into the included case, installed Windows 10 pro (for which the key was included), installed the software and drivers I needed, and I was done. The finished product looked something like this: While it's not too pretty, it gets the job done for a reasonable price point, I use it mainly for game development, programming, and basic tasks like web browsing. It powers threw all of these tasks easily, this doesn't mean much since I use a 2D engine and basic programming has never been considered hardware intensive, but I still consider this a success. In total this build cost me 210.97USD and took less than 1 hour to complete. I also ran some Firestrike benchmarks just for fun:

Building a budget PC is really a headache when you already have a PC So...my parents bought me a pre built PC 4-5 years back Specs : i3 2100 Intel DH61WW A Kingston 4GB DDR3 Seagate 500GB HDD Mercury 450W (I think this is some local PSU...not gonna keep it anyway) Never had a GPU, so..was living a life within 20fps, finished some games including Assassin's Creed 3, Far Cry 2 and Just Cause 2...but all the games at the next level are almost non playable So I decided to do something for it. I have two options: 1. Upgrade the current system by adding a dedicated GPU 2. Get an APU now and add a GPU later If I've to add a GPU to my i3 system, I'd buy the Radeon RX 460 and if I'm gonna get an APU, it would be the A10 7700k (I'll add a GPU later when i can afford it) The games I'll most likely play are: Assassin's Creed Series, GTA 4 and 5, Resident Evil 6 and 7, NFS Series, Star Wars, Witcher 3, Middle Earth, Far Cry Series, Just Cause 3, Crysis Series and Tomb Raider. I'm okay with 1280 x 720 at medium settings and 30+ fps (It would be a blessing lol). I use my PC mostly for Gaming and sometimes for Video Editing(Rendering time doesn't matter...just want the job done). My motherboard is not working now, so I gotta get a new mobo anyway. I'm from India btw and my budget is 200 USD (Mobo + GPU/APU) Since the APUs have a good future and the above mentioned GPU performs better than the iGPU, I can't get a balance between these two. I really need help with this asap (rebate for the Asus rx 460 ends on 28th..so.) Please help! thank you in advance

I'm looking for a cheap 4 core 4 thread or more and preferably less than a 32 nm Lithography and more than 3ghz. I've been thinking of getting the x5670 but as it is from 2010 so I'm not sure. If you find anything for the same price point please tell me

So I've slowly been putting together a build for my next gaming PC. I'm on a fairly tight budget so I'd like others to take a look at what I've got here and see how it holds up.
