I am wondering if it is worth building a PC that will only be used for web browsing, basic word processing etc. Is it better to buy prebuilt or to build?

Hi, I bought a Samsung 840 EVO 250gb and want to migrate with the software it came with the data from HDD to SSD but it came with the message: ''Cannot locate a Disk with a Windows OS installation.'' I did some research and saw that I needed a Basic Partition to do this. But I cant find a way to convert a Dynamic partition to a Basic partition without deleting the whole Windows partition. Anyone tips? Thanks.

How can I store code, I need to be able to use a "while" loop for a fight scene a lot of times and I don't want to have to copy and paste it so many times. I am at school, and I can't use anything else than IE right now so I can't paste the code or a link to the code so just imagine a few (like 30) lines of code that needs to be used a lot of times.

(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-03-06 18:19 EST-0500) as far as the graphics card goes i have a radeon HD5450, not a great card but when i bought it it was very cheap and a big upgrade from my dying radeon x1600 Pro. the over all goal with this build is a cheap rig that i can upgrade as i get the funds, and after doing some research i found most games still use less then 8gb of ram, and very few make use of quad cores so far. the games i've been wanting to play range from older ones like fallout 3 all the way up too planetside 2. i'm no graphics monger, i'm mainly interested in smooth frame rates and decent load times. i feel this build leaves me room to grow and expand without breaking me wallet wise. what are your folks thoughts on the matter and what would you swap out of this list? keep in mind my first upgrade would be a newer graphics card after this is built. probably to an msi r7770 radeon.

I am working on a TCP Messenger in Visual Basic. I have created a client and server which uses TCP Clients and Listeners to send and receive messages. The client and server will successfully communicate over the local area network, however the client cannot communicate with the server if the server is hosted on a different network. I have forwarded the port (45576) but the client can still not connect. I checked the port using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and the port is closed. I'm guessing this means the server isn't listening on the public IP just the local IP. I would like the client to be able to communicate with the server over the Internet / Public IP. I would also like help in creating a contact system. The client will be able to see who is online and will be able to send private messages to specific users (Like Skype). I have tried to create a system but the server would no longer broadcast messages so I reverted the changes. I have attached both the server and client source code to this post. Hi guys, I have this java project where I am creating a bank and when i call another class, the variable in the first class resets. I don't really know why. The first screen prompt the user to enter their AdmNo and PIN which is transferred into the Database with no problems. Then, the second screen will have a prompt to enter in a pattern as a secondary password. When this happens, the variable storing the identity of the person(array) is being reset. Database is extends to the pattern. I've gone over and over the code again and again and can't figure out why it's printing my function as 0 when it's compiled. I will be doing a full water cooling loop when i can afford it but for now i have tried to keep it with a budget and still got some looks about it. So i was doing some work on my NAS which had a bad fan in the PSU, and after sometime the fan just wasn't cutting it anymore got to the point where it didn't even spin properly on its side. I just finished replacing the fan with a Delta fan i got a fair while ago now, which by the way is pretty loud (4000 RPM, 120mm). Though i would join the forums make this my first post, throw some pictures up for you all to see and explain it! This particular NAS system runs FreeNAS 9.10, and well does the usual thing you would expect from a NAS which is store files, share files, etc. Most of the installed HDDs are in RAID arrays using ZFS, if anyone is interested ill post more details on what RAID levels i am using and a bit more in depth information about the setup on the software side of things.
