So I got myself a new gpu and i got 3 display port and 1 hdmi, my monitor only has one hdmi but I experienced something strange in games while playing, it s like a shadow or something like that following the things on the screen even tho this happens only on fifa and csgo even on fifa recordings I was wondering if I get an display port adaptor and connect it through that will the displayed image be like I'm using display port or still hdmi, will the adaptor be able to transfer the amount of information that a displayport cable does?

I've recently got another model M, this time an ISO one the adapter i got along with it is a cheap chinese one with some problems: - holding one key and pressing+releasing another key while still holding the first key, makes the first key get picked up as released as well - the ISO key between shift and z does not work i don't have a PS/2 to usb adapter because i used native PS/2 until recently, all 'good' and recommended adapters floating around, being praised on the internet (including the 'blue cube' and others) are impossible to find since they aren't produced anymore i need a new adapter that supports the extra ISO key, does NOT have 1-key-overroll issues that make it impossible to play any type of keyboard-controlled video game, supports hot swapping, (and has a low latency if possible). recommend me something you can buy on amazon or ebay that ships to germany, thanks for answers! oh yeah i almost forgot, (i think) i need an actual converter and not just a dumb adapter with wires and plastic inside it, since my model M's controller doesn't support usb.

Hi everyone, Around two years ago, I purchased the following monitor on Tmall: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32975586687.html I was really disappointed when, shortly after using it for the first time, coloured vertical lines appeared on the screen: I included this image in a reddit post where I explained the issue and the troubleshooting steps I'd tried, but was unable to find a solution to the problem. Eventually, I gave up, and the monitor went into storage...until recently when I stumbled across the following post on this forum: I tried adjusting the power cable while it was connected to the monitor just like Vamo_Elysian did and sure enough, re-positioning the cable does temporarily cause the artifacts to go away. I hadn't even considered that the power adapter might be at fault, but it looks like that could be the case. My question is, do you think my current power adapter is faulty, or do you think it's output isn't suitable (too low/high)? I don't want to waste money on an adapter that's exactly the same if that isn't the problem, but I also don't want to do any damage to the monitor by undervolting/overvolting (if that's even possible, I don't know much about electronics ). The power adapter in Vamo_Elysian's post is rated for 19V & 3.42A (65 watts), whereas the one this monitor's currently using is rated for 12V & 4A (48 watts), which is quite a bit lower (translation) : The only information I could find on the monitor itself was this (translation) : The connector looks like it has the same inner diameter and outer diameter as Vamo_Elysian's one: Any help with this would be much appreciated

Hello, I am trying to recover data off two old hard disk drives. I’ve read about SATA to USB adapter cables and the hard drive adapter cases that I could plug into another computer via a USB port to retrieve the data. I’m not really sure what device i should purchase to retrieve the data. Does anyone have any recommendations? These are the two hard drives I have - HTS548080M9AT00 https://www.newegg.com/hitachi-gst-80gb-hts548080m9at00/p/1B0-006B-00012?&quicklink=true MK8007GAH https://www.newegg.com/p/0ZK-08C1-04FU5?&quicklink=true Thanks in advance

Hi! I've just got a new Acer Predator Helios 300 with the RTX 2060 card, and also got 2 new Acer Predator XB271HUAbmiprz Nvidia G-Sync monitor. So this is a triple monitor setup. I have one monitor connected with a display pont cabel, using an added display port mini to diplay port converter, and the oter monitor is connevted via an HDMI cabel. The main problem is that the monitor connected with the hdmi cabel is limited to 60HZ, and can't do G-Sync. I was wondering, if is there any solution, to connect both monitors with a display port cabel, so booth can run 144HZ and use G-sync. The ports on the laptop are: - 3x USB 3.0 (1x Power Off Charging funtion) - 1x USB Type-C (USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps) - 1x HDMI™ 2.0 port - 1x Mini DisplayPort 1.4 - 1x 3.5mm headset/speaker + microphone - 1x Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45)

I’ve been helping my stepdad set up a laptop dock in his home office for WFH. His laptop is slightly older - a Lenovo Flex 5-1470 - but it does have one USB-C 3.0 port. He bought two 1080p monitors that use HDMI, and a cheap USB-C dock from Best Buy. The dock would only allow one monitor to display at once, and when he called the support number for the dock, they told him that the dock he had (which supported up to USB 3.1 gen 1) supported simultaneous HDMI and DisplayPort output but not simultaneous HDMI, and that he just needed to buy one of their more expensive docks. I’m understandably suspicious of that claim. I’ve been looking online to see if USB 3.0 has support for multiple displays over a single connection, and haven’t been able to find any information other than “you can convert USB-C to HDMI” Is it possible to connect multiple displays to a single USB 3.0 connector? Keep in mind this is 3.0, not either generation of 3.1, and both displays are 1080p.

So I have and ASUS H81M-R and I want to get an SSD (m.2 to be exact) but I don't have and m.2 slot. I saw this product in a Croatian tech store link: https://www.instar-informatika.hr/pcie-adapter-for-two-m2-s-ata-drivesraid-drives-2xm2-ssd-host-pcie-x1-v20-card/IT-KCSSD4/product/ . Its a pciex1 to 2 m.2 slots. My concern is would it work with an m.2 ssd, is it reliable and is it as fast as a normal m.2 slot?

I just upgraded to a 3950X and I am using a molex adapter to 4-pin because my PSU only have regular 8-pin. Is it ok to keep using it like that ? Or should I really just get a new PSU to avoid any kind of problems. Thank you !!

So I wanted to get for a family member of a mine a eGPU such as the Razer Core X. I have a GTX 1060 3gb laying around that I don't need anymore, and prefer to give it to him. Problem is he owns a Lenovo Z50-75, boasting a powerful quad core AMD APU (Lol). Is it possible to like get a adapter of some sort that wouldn't necessarily affect speed? Such as a 2x usb to a 1x Thunderbolt 3. If that sounds confusing, I mean an adapter that uses 2 USB Type A ports, and somehow splits the data (More or less equal) to the thunderbolt 3 connection? Will there be any problems at all? Idk, I don't feel like it would be necessary to buy a whole laptop with better specs, neither a laptop that has thunderbolt 3. Thank you for reading this! p.s are there any alternatives for this too? That I can somehow improve PC performance for him? Specifically GPU wise?

so, i just got 2 new Philips 241E9 FHD 75Hz IPS 24in monitors to go with my other one (total of 3) all 3 are freesync. all 3 have hdmi x2 and vga on the back of the monitors (no display ports) so my first issue was i needed adapters since my gpu (rx 5700 xt gaming x) only has 1 hdmi and 3 display port, so 2 monitors (my side ones) are having to run through Astrotek DisplayPort to HDMI Active Adapter Converter to make sure eyefinity works (since it needs active display port adapters in this case for some reason). this has introduced some issues, where the two outside active display port adapter monitors do not 'support freesync' even tho they do when not in eyefinity, so it seems the adopters either don't support it (i'd expect them to for the price i paid...) or there's something i'm not doing right because even with the middle having freesync on (with and without eyefinity), when i open a game they all get some pretty horrible screen tearing no matter if i use vsync, radeon enhanced sync, frame limiting etc or any combination of them all, there is still screen tearing pretty badly, even windowed borderless was tried to not avail. if someone can help me with this it would be great, spending so much money and things not working kinda stings haha

Hello, I'm using an Asus Hero VIII Maximus motherboard (not the new alpha one or whatever they called it) and I recently purchased the Phanteks Neon Digital RGB Strips, not realizing that they use the 5v 3-pin connector to even run them. My motherboard doesn't have a header for this, at least none that I could find. Does anyone have a solution this that you've used yourself, or know a good solution that you've seen presented somewhere that I'm unable to find. Thanks to anyone who attempts to help find a solution. It would be much appreciated. I can say for sure though that even if I can't find a solution for it on this system I will definitely use it on a new build later.

Hi I couldn't find anything helpful on the web so I want to ask here. I bought an USB Hub which is connected to my laptop (MSI GL65 95E) by USB-C, link here: USB Hub. All usb 3.0 in this adapter works, but when i plug my monitor (ASUS VZ249HE Ultra-Slim) to HDMI port in this adapter, there is no display. When I plug this monitor directly into HDMI port in my laptop, it works, so HDMI cable and monitor are fine. I thought that USB Hub is broken so I got second one, but still, no display on HDMI. I tried updating drivers, not worked. I tried this hub on 3 different monitors, 2 hdmi cables, 2 laptops, but i can't get this working. Windows updates also didn't worked. Currently I am on KB4497165. I bought it to add second external monitor to my laptop, so using only HDMI port in my laptop isn't solution. On screenshot below i marked this hub with yellow highlight, just to be sure that system "see" this device and usb-c port. P.S. Sorry for bad grammar, as you can see on screenshot, english is not my main language. If something is not clear, I will try to explain it better or provide more informations.

So I had just gotten 2 new monitors and my GPU only has one HDMI port so I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this one) and when I went to use it there was no signal on the new monitor I had it plugged into, I then went and check that it worked with just a normal HDMI cable and both monitors do work fine, however when I went to try out the adapter on my old monitor it worked just fine, does anyone know what could be causing this? (These are the new monitors I just bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07774L6TT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this is the old one https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1133147-REG/samsung_s22e310h_21_5_led_monitor_with.html)

Hello, my Phanteks P400A Digital comes with a D-RGB Hub, which is basically a single 3pin 5V JST daisy-chain with the three included fans hooked up to it. This is how the connector looks like: Now I want to attach my CPU-fan to the end of the daisy chain, but it has the "5V-Data-Gap-Ground" pin layout, which is commonly used on motherboards. It's the right one in this image: I already did some research, and I only managed to find a "3pin 5V JST to 3pin 5V (gap layout) adapter" on AliExpress: But as the shipping to Germany takes over a month, I'd rather like to craft my own adapter and that's where I need your help: Which parts do I need to do this and how do I need to connect them? TL;DR: I need to craft an adapter from "3pin 5V JST" to "4-1pin 5V female".

Do those lightning to type-c adapters even work? I need one for my ipad 6 and I've come to understand that they used to not work prior to ipados 13. So what about now? They are quite cheap from the chinese market, but here in my country (Bulgaria) they are actually expensive. So I don't wanna buy a brick to throw around. Can anyone confirm that the lightning (male) to usb type c (female) adapters work (for data transfer and charging)? Thanks in advance! P.S. These things should be pennies, not the bulgarian equivalent of 15 dollars....

Hi all, As the title implies, I've got an idea for a laptop mod that is somewhat impractical but is just crazy enough to maybe work. In my Alienware 17 R5, I've got an extra 2240 (I think) M.2 M-key slot in my laptop that I am not going to be using for storage for the forseeable future. Additionally, on the same side of the laptop as the port is facing, I've only got one USB-A port and would like some expansion or docking capabilities. What are the odds that some adapter liek the aliexpress link below has, would be able to function? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000706475269.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.eec04e13it2pWx&algo_pvid=3c8ef2f6-19a7-4a6d-bbe6-ca59aa87f021&algo_expid=3c8ef2f6-19a7-4a6d-bbe6-ca59aa87f021-22&btsid=0ab6d67915884801557695820e54e6&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ Imaging having a PCI(e?) 4x slot in the side of your laptop that you could plug an extension in at your desk/docking station for say usb expansion, HDD connection, or any other PCIe 4x device. Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks, AJ
