I know that a lot of people have been having some serious issues with 980ti drivers almost to the extent of bricking their cards. Does anyone have the newest driver 375.70 and is it safe? I've been running 361.75 for the paast couple of months because i was scared to update them.

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Gigabyte 1080 G1, I was using it for about one week without problems. Then on Saturday while playing Forza Horizon 3, the screen froze, I pressed the shutdown button, the PC was shutting down and responding, but the image was still showing the frozen game. I turned it back on, it goes up to windows loading and then reboots. Then I went to safe mode, removed the drivers with DDU, rebooted installed drivers again, and while installing the drivers, the monitors went black. Ok I thought I will try a different card, I put my MSI Lightning 980ti in and it worked without any problems. I put my 1080 back and after booting its just showing a black screen. BIOS and Safe mode is displaying correctly. After a while I decided to put the 1080 in the second PCIe slot and it works! I have a z87 MSI Mpower MAX motherboard, so the second slot is x8. I was gaming all Sunday without any problems. On Monday I tried a linux live cd with the card in the first slot, no issues. I rebooted the PC and the card works in the first PCIe slot again. After about 4 hours it froze again (while browsing reddit) and won't boot unless I put the card in second slot. Event viewer just says "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered", no other events before that for one hour. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this? Is it hardware related or drivers? I will try to install a clean copy of Windows to see if that helps.

Trying to flash my 980ti as a last resort before RMA'ing the thing. Since a few days fans are out of control. They either stay in silent mode so at 0, or they ramp up to 100 under any load. So trying to fix that with a bios flash. Gigabyte gives me download for official BIOS Link:http://www.gigabyte.de/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5472#bios Problem is gigabyte utilities dont work. Both EasyBoost and @-Bios cant find my gpu and thus cant backup or flash my BIOS. Now I know that nvflash can be used BUT... The Gigabyte Bios comes in .f4 files and all I've seen people use with nvflash were .rom files... Has anybody used a 3rd party app for the official gigabyte bios or is it impossible?

Hello, I was recently thinking about creating a water cooled system and I want to know what type of radiators I will need. My plan is to water cool the i7 5960X, 64GB RAM, 4x980Ti GPUs, and the asus Rampage 5 edition 10 MoBo. What would you recommend for a radiator configuration? Thanks in advance for the answers. Also I aim to overclock the sh*t out of the CPU and GPUs.

Hello fellow patrons of the LTT forum! I have my new(ish) build and I want to upgrade the graphics card, and I don't really know which is better, just getting a new 980ti and putting it in SLI with my current 980ti, or sell my current one and get a 1070. My current system specs are here in PCPP and there you will find any pertinent info regarding my current build (monitor, processor and such)

My Build (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bV9zzy) Between two specific models of graphics card (will add amazon links) which cools better? Right now I have great airflow in my case (Corsair 750D) but when I play Battlefield 1 my GPU overheats with high graphics settings and with max fan speed on the graphics card. And when I say overheats, I mean, goes to 108°F and that's the lowest, slowly it will rise and then... black screen and computer restarts. In order to fix this problem, I set my graphics to low and I max out the fan and the temp will stay stable at 108°F. I will also add links to my build and I game at 1440p (2.5K? 1.5K? lol idk 2440p/1440p I think) Anyway, should this be here or the air cooled sub-forum? Which of these has better cooling? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YDAYOK0/ref=twister_B00Z07KXCI?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 (980ti) or 1070 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GX5YWAO/ref=psdc_284822_t1_B00YDAYOK0 Should I go 980ti SLI? Will that help my temps? Or just get a watercooled 980ti?

I already have a Evga Gtx 980ti Sc card and am running at 4K on a 40" Samsung. I've found a local EvGa Gtx 980ti FTW for $350 and was thinking about buying it and sli'ing the two. For that price do you think it is worth it and will there be any problems with one being FTW and the other not? Thanks

So my friend and I have been playing ark for the past week, and everything was fine until yesterday. Im not sure why (which is why im here) but I have been getting 35-45 fps no matter what my settings are, and every time I turn, it dips down to 5 fps. I have a 5820k,980ti, and 8GB ram. Not sure if its relevant, but I also moved the game to my ssd recently. Edit: The game also keeps crashing.

Hi guys, I really hope that someone can help me out. I'm one step away from trying the oven baking method of reviving dead graphics cards but thought I would reach out for help before doing so. My PC: i7 3820 (OC'd to 4.4) MSi 980ti Gaming 6G x2 in SLi Asus Rampage IV Gene Motherboard Corsair Veneance DDR3 1866mhz Vertex 4 SSD (Windows 10) Samsung SSD (Games) Fractal Design Newton R3 1000w Phanteks Evolve Enthoo Tempered Glass Custom EKWB water cooling on CPU and GPUs, using a 240mm and 360mm rads and EK Vardar fans. Issue: PC was running on both cards on air just fine for months. Decided to go onto water for reduced noise levels Installed customer water cooling loop but with one card only due to shortage of the 980ti TF5 EK GPU block. Worked perfectly on one card. Finally, got second GPU block so installed it onto card and then added the card to the PC. On in the same day I got the oculus rift and played it all day with no issues, though did not turn on SLi, mainly because I forgot to in all the excitement of getting the rift. The next day I sat down to play witcher 3. I remembered that SLi would be off so I opened the Nvidia Contol Panel and activated it. Launched witcher 3 and it ran for about a minute and then the computer shut down. My initia thought was that the overclock had failed. (+100 clock, +200 memory). PC would power up but no video signal. Got error code "b2" on the LED display and also have the "VGA LED" lit up on the motherboard. What I have tried: Reseated RAM - no effect Tried single stick of RAM in different slots - no effect Removed CMOS battery for a minute to clear it - no effect Tried using only one graphics card at a time... GPU 1 ONLY (the one I used on water whilst waiting for waterblock 2) - same error messages GPU 2 ONLY - WORKING FINE I jumped into the BIOS and reset all settings to default (F5 key, save and exit) ---- It appears at first glance that GPU 1 is dead. Any ideas for how I can revive it?

Hello Everyone! I had my build for a while now (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qpCvM8) And i was wondering if i could put my own custom water block on the gpus. I dont mind if i void the warranty on the cards. I was thinking of putting a Thermal take one on their (https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Pacific-Reference-Transparent-CL-W094-PL00TR/dp/B071RT5P7V/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1504130584&sr=1-2&keywords=980ti+waterblock) I just dont know if it will fit. Thank You! I was thinking of doing something like this

Hello there. After updating to 388.00 or 388.13 driver on Windows 10 (Fall Update) nvidia control panel doesn't show up, msi afterburner doesn't see gpu, games doesn't launch or runs at 5fps and weirdly sleep option from shutdown menu is missing. I have EVGA GTX 980ti SC+ with flashed bios For now it seems that driver doesn't install it just deletes old drivers but doesn't install new ones. Older drivers works just fine. I tried 1. Clean install drivers 2. Deleting old ones with DDU and after restart install new ones. 3. Reinstalling clean windows 10

Hey, i´m updating my pc for editing 4K footage in Davinci Resolve 14. Blackmagic recommends a GPU with 8GB or more. Because of the bigger videocard i think i also might need a new PSU. My system right now is: MB: Gigabyte Z87X-D3H CPU: i7 4770K CPU Cooler: Scythe Katana 4 Videocard: ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX black DDR3 8GB PSU: bequiet! Straight Power E9 400W HDD: 2x Seagate Baracuda 1TB SSD: Samsung 840Evo 120GB Wings: 3x bequiet! Shadow Wings 120mm PCI Express WLAN Adapter and a Blueray Player So what videocard and what PSU would you recommend for my uses? I consider a Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8GB. Cheers

Hey, recently I made a post asking for help...Long story short someone tried to sell me a gtx 1080 that was not a 1080. Now I am here and I have 3 opportunities: waiting for an Rx 580 Pulse(243€) from Amazon FR (out of stock - preordered by me), getting a RX 580 Red Devil for 265€ or a 980 Ti AMP Extreme (one year old) for 280-300ish€. --> I've a freesync Monitor. really need an advice because I am sitting here without a GPU for 1 1/2 months already and idk if it's worth to get any of those tbh.

I want strong single graphics card performance, as I play a lot of unfinessed games that can't utilise SLI (Also I only have one PCI-e slot on my mobo). So in this instance, is upgrading from a 980ti to a 1080ti worth it? (Also worth considering I can sell a 980ti for roughly £350 and buy a 1080ti for about £650)

Hey guys. Over the past 4 days my system has been on the fritz. I have dismantled, rebuilt and reinstalled many p[arts and copies of windows 10. My PC has 2 980tis in sli and i have been swapping between them and the igpu. Basically i kept launching the fresh install of windows and every time i launched a game of did anything graphically demanding I got a blue screen of death (actually not just blue, at various points, red, purple, magenta and cyan of all things) , specifically i got this launching overwatch consistently. the display was fine for general usage such as browsing google and windows operation. Anyway I swapped to my second 980 ti and, it worked fine, overwatch launched and played fine (to double check i swapped them back again and the first crashed again and then swapped back to the second and it was fine). So does it sound like my first 980ti is a lost cause?

Hi All, I have been having a few issues recently with warranty, i sent off my card almost 2 months ago to the re seller, they then sent it off to Asus. Yesterday i get a call from the re seller about a partial refund, they offer me £224, i originally paid £450, unfortunately due to terms and conditions, i am unable to get a full refund, and no replacement as 9 series is now EOL. I am now needing to go on a GPU hunt, used or new, but at a reasonable price, i can probably go to £400 currently, have you got any suggestions on what i should do? Cheers, ShavedCloaca

Hey, I plan to delid my i7 7700k to put liquid metal in it and i thought why not as well do it with my evga 980ti hybrid but i'm wondering if I need thermal pad for the stuff around the die or if I can disassemble it without needing to remove the factory ones(also, would I see a difference in temps and maximum overclocking if I change them, if so, wich one should I take) thanks already for the reply

I’m currently watching SYW and was wondering whats better a 1080 or a 980ti in sli

I just recent got a 980ti since I decided I wanted to upgrade my computer as the GTX 770 and R9 270x were unable to keep up with PUBG and other new demanding titles. I would prefer something with more than 4 cores to be able to potentially handle streaming while gaming. Also must be mITX (no Intel X99/X299) since I intend to then save up for an evolv shift and a sfx psu. Should I wait for coffee lake or go for Ryzen? The conflict is that I may be able to get a very good price on Intel chips since I have a friend who has employee discounts.

Okay, I currently have a Strix 980Ti, had it around 18 months, paid £360 new. Recently I've been looking at 1080Ti's and the cheapest I can find, that's reference (EK aluminium block is likely), is £680. The new card is around double performance in some situations, for less than double the price. Would you recommend a 1080Ti for that price? (Might consider selling the 980Ti and make some money back)

Hey Guys i have a question about what i should buy in the future. I own an EVGA 980 ti hybrid atm and i am super confident with it but i want to add more horses to my rig soon for 1440p gaming (144hz). So should i SLI my 980 ti or sell it and buy a GTX 1080 TI. I saw a lot of videos online but i cant decide what i should do, cause the performance is equal in games that support SLI. I mostly play Triple A titles so are my chances good with SLI scaling in the next years? Thank you a lot

Hello guys here's my problem : I've got a 980ti G1 gaming and it as electrical buzz (coil whine). My power suppy is an antec HCG-850M (seasonic rebrand) which isnt cheap. My monitor is a 144hz down clocked to 100hz (I dont like jumping fps). I play with V-Sync on and my gpu is buzzing during menu, gameplay, loading time ... maintains 100 fps all the time. Is there a way a can reduce the whinning other than : Changing psu, using headphone (I'm a speaker guys LUL) TY

Had an interesting year of GPU goodness. I bought a XFX RX 480 GTR Black edition for around £165 at the start of the year just before the mining boom took off, loved it and then sold it onto a miner for a cheeky £320.. Then managed to snag this, a GTX 980Ti with a non functioning LED for £250.... which turned out just needed a new wire soldered in (dont worry its tidy now with shorter wires!) So from the initial £160 i dropped on the RX 480 to the profit and then purchase of the 980Ti i've shellled out less than £100 and have a 980Ti.. This leaves me at a bit of an impasse with what to do next? I dont think there will be that much - if any difference - in looking at a 1070 or Vega 56, and even the Vega 64 / 1080 seems to be an awful lot of money for not a great boost in performance over the 980Ti So what should I do? Sit and wait a few gens for Navi or Volta? whip off the MSI cooler and custom cool and chase those higher maxwell clocks? swap air for water?

Will a Ryzen 5 1600x bottleneck my 980ti? I currently have a FX-8350 8 core processor, and I believe it's bottlenecking my 980ti, because I notice significant framerate drops in games with the same level of graphics, but which are way more cpu intensive. I also want to play games like Arma, and my processor doesn't handle cpu intensive games well. Obviously Intel would be a better option, but I'm on a budget here. Would a Ryzen 5 1600x be a good option? What are some quality low price motherboards to go with it? And what ram frequency do you recommend, considering I will have to upgrade to DDR4.
