Yep, It's 2020 not 2012, I know. I'm currently running an FX 8350 at stock with 16GB of DDR3-1600, paired with an RX 550. I've got a decent 80+ 500W EVGA PSU and waay more storage than most people with this hardware, in total 3.3TB of useable storage, most on spinning rust but I have a couple of SSDs in there. Basically, in what I think are GPU-bound titles, for example VALORANT and Overwatch (and maybe some Minecraft too), I'm wondering if I'll get much value out of a 5700XT right now, though I know I'll be very CPU bottlenecked. I am likely to upgrade to a 3600, maybe when b550 is out, but I only have the funds for the gpu OR the cpu at the moment, and as I'm playing mainly esports titles, I was thinking the gpu was a better option. Should I pull the trigger now, or wait until I can do a full system upgrade? I'm also wondering if I'll see similar improvements in FPS to yesterday's video, upgrading the Optiplex for VALORANT. I'm currently getting 70ish FPS, but with some interesting frame times.

I just purchased a Sapphire Pules 5700xt and after playing some games I noticed that the fans seemed to be pulsing at high RPM. After listening for a few minutes I pushed the fan speed curve higher and the pulsing became worse. The pulse is uneven but has a constant rhythm, which leads me to believe that the fans are spinning at different speeds. Is this a known issue and is there any known fix? or did I receive a bad card?

Hi, So I’m currently buying all the parts to build by first gaming PC. I’ve purchased the XFX Radeon 5600 XT Thicc 3 graphics card for £275 however upon further research I’m seeing some bad reviews. I’ve been recommended the Sapphire Nirto+ 5700XT 8gb for £435. Is the Sapphire worth the extra £175? I can still easily return the XFX.

I mainly want to know if the PSU will be enough. No intention to OC and I wouldn't normally worry about it but I read online that in a synthetic load the 3600x can draw 145w????? If that is true then RIP me edit: Decided to buy a better PSU. If AMD themselves recommend 600W who am I to judge. No point skimping 40 bucks extra on a PSU when your computer costs many times that. I have been building a PC for a while now and I had decided on the rtx 2060 but i then decided to change to the XFX 5700XT raw II because its around the same price but I'm somewhat scarred about buying it because its very cheap compared to other 5700xts and it had a lot of reviews on the amazon page saying the cart was incredibly loud or broken when they got it. It appears to be from the official XFX amazon store. Hello! I'm in a strange situation, I need a new GPU as I recently got a Lenovo legion y44w-10 ultra-wide and my GTX 1060 6GB simply wont do any longer. I would like to go with a RTX 2070 however here is the issue. In my country the RTX 2070 is currently almost $200 more than a 5700XT (Msi Rx 5700 Xt Gaming X 8G). I really want to go an Nvidia card so I convince myself that an RTX 2060 / RTX 2060 supper would do just fine. I go to check prices and they are also more expensive than the 5700TX!? And by $100 average too. The best I could find was an RTX 2060 (non-super) for the same cost as the 5700XT. Usually because of the unreasonable GPU prices I get locally I ship from the US, but as our currency has plummeted in value and shipping costs increased it is no longer feasible. Should I just get the 5700XT as it seems to be a good card and its value is close to msrp?

Hey, it is time for an upgrade. this two configurations are basically the same price here in Brazil. What do you think is worth more the money for gaming + streaming? 3600x 2070 super vs 3800x 5700xt? I am more inclined to go with a better CPU, but nvenc for streaming seems appealing. I can't do 3800x with 2070s. I am already over the budget. Thank you

Hi 3 years ago I decided to build my own computer. With some help I did good and it runs great. But I have a feeling that I want to upgrade in the near future. I have: CPU: i5 6600k CPU cooler: Mastercooler hyper 212 evo GPU: evga gtx 1060 3gb PSU: Be quiet! pure power 9 500w 80+ silver Motherboard. Msi z170a pc mate RAM: corsari 2x8 gb 3200 mhz and 2 ssd... I have thought of getting a rx 5700xt because it is very popular and many recommend it. But it cost 5000 kr (Swedish money) which is 500 dollars. So instead of upgrading my cpu to for example Ryzen 5 3600 with a new motherboard (or something else that is better for me). I want to just upgrading my GPU (and PSU ofc). But can I? Are my 6600k capable of handling the 5700xt or is it too weak. I read on a site that my cpu will degrease my gpu performance with 20%. Idk if that is false or true. Or doesn't it matter (I'm a noobie that's why I ask). And remember that in Sweden it is much more expensive than in USA or UK. And im not rich. So if it works with just 5700 xt and not getting a new cpu I would be very happy. I want to play at 1080p, use 2 monitors and I will mostly play fps like Warzone or other random games. I want my computer to hold for future games. I would really appreciate advices or anything you can tell me. Thanks in advance!

So I just bought the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT to replace my dead GPU. Before i bought my new GPU, I have read posts and reviews that 550W is fine/enough for the 5700 XT(which i think they're referring to the reference model). The wattage calculators also says it's fine. But what's stated on the box of my GPU is different story, it requires 600W minimum and in which it concerns me a lot. Currently i have the following PC specs: CPU: i5-7400 MOBO: MSI B250-M Mortar CPU Cooler: Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Royal (2x8GB 3200mhz) PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 550W SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 256GB HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda Case: NZXT S340 Case fans: 1x Thermaltake Riing Fan 120mm(static red) 1x PCCooler RGB 120mm 1x NZXT case stock fan 120mm Also since my CPU is a bottleneck on my GPU, I'm planning to upgrade to Ryzen 5 3600 in a near future. Is my PC fine? Or should I get a new PSU with higher wattage ASAP? Thanks a lot! ?

Sometimes it can be mid game but normally at startup my screen turns green all of a sudden. I have downloaded driver for my 5700xt don't what it could be wasn't a problem with my old 1080ti.

I was planning on upgrading my 980 Ti to either a 5700 XT or a 2070 Super, possibly a used 2080 if the deal is good enough, and I came across a like-new Radeon VII for $450. Is it worth going for that over the 5700 XT or 2070 Super at that price? I'm aware of the potential noise and heat issues with the VII, and I know I can get the 5700 XT for less, but with tax the 5700 XT will cost roughly the same or more than the VII. Warranty is a potential factor but my last two cards have been second-hand and had no issues so its not a massive concern of mine either. Any advice? Edit: I'm using the system to game at 1440p 144 Hz with a Ryzen 7 3700x build for context.

I completed the following build late July. Board: ROG Strix x570-E Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 612 Memory: G Skill X Flare DDR4 3200 CL 14 (2x8) Storage: Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (2x500gb in raid 0) Video Card: 5700xt Reference Case: Corsair Obsidian Airflow 750D Power Supply: EVGA 850 G2 80+ The memory is just holder over memory until I expand to 32 gbs at 3600. Everything has been fine, except for the video card. The card is a little hot and noisy, but manageable. However, at stock settings, it crashes at least once a day, not even pushed to it's limit. Seems to be a random occurrence, maybe tied to up-time, as it doesn't occur when bench-marking. Blue screens and green screens, with multiple stop codes identifying the drivers as the issue. Even when it's not crashing, entering a full-screen program causes either horrific static or a terrifying 5 seconds of blank screen. The card can't handle even the simplest of over-clocks. Dropping 50 mVs without increasing clock speed causes a crash and reversion to stock settings. I can get the video card clock speed up to 2100 boost, as long as the cooler is running at a speed that makes the noise unbearable. Wattman freezes after a couple of adjustments, so I'm constantly killing it in task manager and reloading profiles. So my question for the forum is this. People with experience with AMD, will the drivers eventually solve these issues, or do I need to replace the card? Will replacing it with a 5700xt with an adequate cooler solve my stability problems, or am I SOL with the drivers interacting with my machine? My primary workloads are Unity and Visual Studio, with some Photoshop and Premiere as a hobbyist. I don't need 4k gaming, I mostly play 4X games and 2.5k at 60FPS is enough. I'm an AMD stan, but am I better off just selling the card and going Nvidia? Thank you for your time and patience. This is only my second build and I'm still a little noobish.

I currently have a BenQXL2411 144Hz 1080p monitor which I bought in 2015 which has been perfect.I'm looking to upgrade my rig but the monitor only has DVI and 60Hz HDMI. My preferred GPU would be the 5700XT which doesn't support DVI.I could buy an RTX 2060 Super card at the same price with a DVI port with a little less performance and stick with my current monitor.Should I be looking to upgrade my monitor to a display with HDMI 2.0 or better with displayport to use the 5700XT? With an RTX 2060 Super/ 5700XT should I be looking at a 1440p display? CPU would be a Ryzen 5 3600.If anyone has any recommendations for 144Hz monitors feel free to share but not looking to spend more than 300$/£ if upgrading is my best option

I'm trying to build my first gaming PC by using a 5700xt. I've been waiting for the custom cards to be available. The red devil and pulse are not in stock anywhere, but the ASRock Challenger OC is available on Newegg. This makes me suspicious because the card is not sold out. Are people waiting for better cards or did the company just make good on stock demands? How is the ASRock Challenger regarded?

So it's been 2 and a half weeks since I bought my XFX Radeon RX 5700XT it has been nothing short of hell ride since the thing showed up at my apartments drop box back on the 18th of July. It has gotten to the point I'm just going to return it and abandon my Team Red Build and buy an RTX instead. None of the driver releases have fixed any of the problems I'm having, I even went as far as upgrading my 650w powersupply to a 750w Corsair RM 750X thinking it was a power delivery issue which it wasn't. Prior to that I believed it was just the card reacting badly to monitoring software. Wrong again, and now I've narrowed it down to my Rog Strix X470 F Gaming's boards bios not working well with the card and I'm half right but bios rev 4808 BSODs my PC so back to rev 5007 and my 5700XT not being able to run any game beyond 1080p mid settings. I still have time to RMA which expires on the 17th of August and if by next week the drivers arent fixed that card is going back and I'll just wait till costum AIB's or worse ruin my whole build and buy NVidia.

5700 XT with Image Sharpening & 80% GPU Scaling => 2080 TI performance! In my endless wait for 5700XT AIB card, I have weighed a lot of back and forth between 5700 XT and 2070 Super, given that I have a 3440x1440 screen (~ 90hz) and want some future proofing. Something that has not been extensively tested and discussed is Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS) combined with GPU scaling for DX9 / DX12 titles (potentially DX11 if the technology becomes popular). I have tried to gather all the sources I found and try below to try to summarize the results / conclusions of these. TechSpot/Hardware unboxed did the most comprehensive review and Igor have also made a walkthrough of the image sharpening features compared to DLSS (links in the end) Radeon Image Sharpening In comparable tests, RIS wins in almost all games compared to Nvidia's DLSS (possibly the exception of Tomb Raider where DLSS delivers well). Noticeable improvement in sharpness in games without major downsides (some vegetation may be a little too sharp). Nvidia's DLSS only works in combination with Ray Tracing where the GPU is valued, and DLSS steals a lot of performance from the card while this is near intangible for 5700 / 5700XT (max -1.5% performance in FPS drop) A huge advantage for Radeon is that it works for all DX9 and DX12 games without any need for local customization in all games. GPU Scaling & Radeon Image Sharpening Most sources I linked to below have tested 1440p upscaled to 4k resolution and they think it is a very good tradeoff for close to 50% performance gain, but you can easily see the difference if you zoom in and compare native / scaled resolution. Hardware unboxed tested alot of different gpu scaling options and found the 70-80% scaling sweetspot where its very hard to spot quality differences between scaled and native 4k. 80% scaling provides a 27% FPS boost with hardly no noticable quality loss! 5% Overclocking should easily be reasonable for an AIB card Combine this with an AIB card that creates clearly better cooler solutions that should at least create overclocking space of 5% (with only automatic overclocking as I interpret it based on this test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08QgzHFBjq0) Summary: Overclock + ~ 80% GPU Scaling + RIS gives comparable performance as a 2080 TI card! This gives a base performance of 105% + an additional 27% FPS boost to very small identifiable quality loss! In Sweclockers 5700 XT Test the 5700 XT was tested in 4k with ultra-settings DX12 among a series of games to get a performance average over a multitude of titles. They got a total of 123% performance (compared to GTX 1080). Multiply this by 1.05 for overclocking and you land at 129. If you then use ~ 80% GPU Scaling and RIS giving you a 27% boost to 164, which is very close to the 2080 TI performance (169) !! Just the fact that this is an on / off button for all DX9 / DX12 games (really hoping for DX11 during the year) is a huge benefit to the NAVI cards (works for other cards too but with a bit more performance loss than <1, 5%). This really makes me await the AIB cards and most likely will run on a 5700 XT. With a little cheating you reach the performance equivalent to a 10,000 SEK card which should give you a fairly strong performance with this card for the foreseable future. One trait you lose is of course Ray Tracing, but all cards except possibly 2080TI today find it difficult to deliver a stable 4k experience with ray tracing. For my part, I have no problem waiting until Ray Tracing breaks through before investing in that technology, and then a $ ~450 card is a decent investment until that day. Surprised that no more people have tested this, seeing how striking the results are. I welcome your thought and conclusions I have the following reviews as sources: https: //www.youtube.com/watch? V = Yi-_T3vsv-Q & feature = youtu.be & ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=581&v=7MLr1nijHIo https: //www.sweclockers.com/test/27832-amd-radeon-rx-5700-och ... https: //www.igorslab.media/ultimativa-visueller-vergleich-zw ...

rtx 2070 super AMD 5700 XT or NVIDIA 2070 Super (Gigabyte Aorus) ?
ac88 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hey everyone, I want to upgrade my graphics card for my AMD Ryzen (gaming) build. right now i have a "ASUS Dual Radeon RX580 O8G" i bought a couple of months ago brand new, that makes a lot of noise, and has this coil whine (weird sound) everytime im playing a game. ( i only play triple AAA games ) Im thinking of buying the new GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 Super but im also looking for a silent card? i already know it's slightly better than the new AMD Radeon 5700 XT and that its also a huge price difference (almost € 200,-) plus+ the AMD 5700 XT are all blowerstyle gpu's for now..... still waiting.... So now my question is, Should i go for the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 Super? and does it make less noise than an AMD 5700 XT? My Build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i RGB Platinum AIO WaterCooler MOBO: ASUS X470 Motherboard MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB - 3200Ghz / POWER SUPPLY: Corsair HX850 Monitor: ( current + yet to buy ) LG Ultrawide : 2560x1080 / 75 Hz ?GamingMonitor? : 2560x1440 / 144 Hz i hope somebody can help me with this, Thankyou in advance... -
I have a simple question, will 3rd part manufacturers make navi 5700's and 5700xt's with a cooler other than the current blower style one ???

So basically my friend wants a PC for school work and light gaming but in a few months he will be getting a bit more money and then wants to start streaming. So my idea was to have a weird build that he could just open up, drop in a 3600x and a 5700xt and not have to worry about anything except cooling (which he is considering getting something like the dark rock pro when he has the money). Anyway this was the build i threw together and was wondering if it is decent, i build it while keeping in mind he dosn't want to spend to much money on the main components (CPU and GPU) which would just go to waste when he gets the better parts. Here is what i have come up with - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Tech_Void/saved/#view=xT49GX There is a weird thing with the memory, but he wants to get everything from amazon (since he has prime,it has decent return policy, ect) and it just didn't work so i entered my own price (the exact price from amazon at the time). Thank you for reading this.
