I've currently got a Logitech x530 hooked up to my PC, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121126 and a Logitech x240 that is gathering dust. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121010 I was wondering if there's anyway possible for me to merge them creating a 7.1 system? (I would say 7.2 but I don't think my onboard sound on my z77a-g45 supports it...) Anybody else attempted this sort of thing?

Hi! I just built my rig and I have no speakers for it. I intend to spend no more than $80 on it because I am also saving up for additional upgrades down the road*. My choices: Swans HiVi M10 @ $73 Altec Lansing VS4721 @ $72 Logitech Z623 @ $78 I converted the speakers' prices in my country to USD. *Seagate Barracuda 3TB, Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (White), Corsair K65

Looking to replace my Logitech Z623s down the line anywhere from 6 months to a year from now but I wanted to get an idea of what I should save up for and what would be the best for my needs/wants. I'm looking for either a 2.0 or 2.1 setup. I don't care much for muddy, overwhelming bass. I like a flat response with balanced highs, mids and lows. I will be gaming, listening to different types of music such as different types of EDM, Post Hardcore Metalcore and other subgenres of rock similar to this, Classical, Theatrical, Jpop/Jrock, classic rock, etc. etc. I listen to just about every genre of music as long as it sounds appealing imo. I'd like to be able to turn it up really loud with minimal distortion if any at all. The Z623s sound okay but when I listen to most anything, the satellites start to clip/distort really badly so I have to keep it below 75% volume if I don't want to hear terrible distortion. My spending limit may be up in the $500-$600 USD range more or less. Also I'd like for my next set of speakers to be as loud as or louder than the Z623s and I know they output 200w. I think it's 150w for the sub and 25w for each sat. I want to say I'm slowly becoming an audiophile, but I'm not really that snobby about it. I just like really nice sounding speakers so that I can fully immerse myself in the music that I listen to and the games that I play. I was considering Audioengine A5+'s or KEF X300A's which the X300A's are $100 - $200 over the spending limit I posted but if they're well worth it I may consider.

Hi, I'm thinking about putting together a small 2.1 system from the following: - Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers - Yamaha YST SW 012 Advanced YST II - SMSL SMSL SA-60- some mixer for more inputs (optional) It will be used for music most of the time, but movies occasionally. It will be used in the living room, but the room is relatively small. Do you think it will be worth the 300ish €? Feel free to recommend different components too. Thanks

I'm looking for some good bluetooth speakers, and I cant seem to find any that meets all criteria. I hope someone here can help put! Criteria: 2.0 / 2.1 system. Black and simple/stylish design. Mini-jack and/or USB Bluetooth to use with phone (WP8.1 and Android) That last one really narrows down the options Price Is not a big issue... I'm not rich tho I found these: http://uk.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-t30-wireless http://uk.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-t6-series-ii I would like some more options, with some more convincing reviews. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi there, Basically I currently have a 2.1 set that i've been using for quite some time, and i'm looking to get a good 2.0 set. My question is that, can I use the sub woofer that came with the 2.1 set? The idea is to plug the subwoofer to the pc and the 2.0 set to the pc to get the extra sub. Thank's!

Hey guys! So I found my old surround sound, and i was wondering if i am able to connect all of this to my laptop? (HP Omen 15). I use an external monitor, and from what i know i could just connect via HDMI. However, i have a old receiver and there is no hdmi port, so is there still a way to achieve true 5.1 surround? Or would i get stereo? Would i need to a buy a new receiver to achieve this? Thanks!

right now I'm leaning towards a 2.1 system to provide for some shaky bass while watching movies and just casual gaming and such. oh and what I'm looking to buy right now are the Swans GT1000, they look good, allegedly sound good, and are at a good price point for me at about $170 so what would you guys recommend? I see a lot of recommendations for bookshelf speakers (and I was actually planning to go with a pair), but the lack of a subwoofer made me think if it's worth buying especially if I want some nice mini home theater experience in my little bedroom. what do you guys think? I'm also open to hearing about 5.1 or 7.1 setups if they're really worth it, and at a price point of about $200, more if it's really really worth it. so just to mention, the purpose would be for movie watching and casual gaming with other people from a distance, since I'll be using headphones for more up close and personal gaming and video editing.

at the moment I'm looking at the Swan GT1000 which are at about $170 if converted from the price here in the Philippines primary use will just be for watching movies and shows with other people from a distance, since I'll most likely use headphones for personal stuff like gaming and video editing. it doesn't have to be an all in one system like it's sold as 2.1, it can be 2 speakers and 1 different subwoofer if that's a better option. and I don't know about getting a DAC/AMP, what do you guys think?

I want to get some speakers for less then £100. I've been looking at the Logitech Z623 but they are a bit pricey for 2.1s. Short and simple.

Well hello there I got a quick question concerning my phone and my powerbank. My powerbank has a 1.5 and a 2.1 amp Output and I am wondering if I can use the 2.1 for my Sony Xperia S. Will it hurt the battery much? It should charge faster or not? Glad to hear if you know which one to use and if it really matters. Best regards from a cow

Hello, so I'm looking to upgrade my sound system. Currently I'm debating about using straight a stereo system, (PC-DAC-AMP-mordaunt short Mezzo2) or a dedicated 5.1 system (PC-Dedicated sound card-AMP-Kef eggs). I'd mainly be gaming, but I'm struggling to find actual numbers around games on PC which fully support 5.1 systems. Would a 5.1 system actually be worth investing in against a proper stereo setup. Thanks in advance.

okay so I've been running into some trouble here in the forums... whenever I ask for a suggestion to something I'd want (a speaker for example), the people here are kind enough to give me suggestions that seem to be great. however when it comes to buying the product(s) I end up getting frustrated because I can't find them locally (Philippines), or the item would be too expensive. So this time instead of just asking what should I but and whatnot, I'll post a list of the available items so that you guys can just choose which is the best. and please don't just choose the most expensive lol. even though there are some that are $100+ I would say that my preferred price would be at just around $100, but if the $100+ is justifiable, like it really has the sound quality that the others don't, then by all means vote for it. here are some hopefully useful info on what I'm looking for I'd prefer it to have "natural" sound, if that makes sense? like it just sounds like how it's suppose to (the speakers, or maybe I'm also talking about the source). another way I think of saying it is that I want it to have crisp clean sound, not necessarily on the bass side especially if it's unnecessary added bass... for loudness I'd also prefer it to be loud enough that I never have to turn it up on full volume, if that makes sense again... and features... I really just want them to be good ol' fashion speakers, I don't know much of what features that would really benefit me in any way (it would be nice if you could share what features would probably give an edge) and I can go either 2.1 or 2.0 or whatever else is there as long as the price remains sensible. and of course sensible that it won't look like much clutter.

Currently using $15 Logitech speakers with my PC and well, they just don't cut it, to say the least. They're actually not bad for $15, but there's not much base and not very clear. Long story short, I'm looking for decent quality 2.1 speakers for under $100. I'm not an audiophile, but I do appreciate and prefer to have good sounding speakers with solid balance and clarity. So, what do you guys recommend/suggest in the $50-100 price range? Any brands I should stay away from? Thanks, MEC.

As the title above says, what are your thoughts on this Speaker set-up? Keep in mind im from Aus. Now if you have anything close-by to that price, say, no more than $30 more, then hit me up with suggestions. Hints: I enjoy my bass, Punchy and Deep. Cheers fellas'

Hello everyone, Well... I had some 2.1 speakers that they died and I'm looking for some new ones around 80$ / 60 EUR. But the think is that they are so many that I'm afraid that I will make the wrong choise. So... any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Hey there! Unfortunately, my old loyal speakers died some days ago and I'm now searching for some new ones. I'd prefer 5.1 but for only 200$ i doubt you can get some real quality ones so a pair og 2.1 would be fine. I'm not a huge audiophile but i want some quality sound from them! So i was wondering if you guys got any suggestions to which i should buy?

Is it possible to get 2.1 output from every program using the realtek manager or some other program? It's possible to set 5.1 then turn off rear and center speakers, which would make it 2.1, but then it only outputs to the sub channel with content that has a dedicated LFE channel and doesn't for any naturally 2 channel content (itunes, youtube etc.) There is a bass management selection but that is terrible, as it trying to remove some of the low frequencies from the front speakers by selecting the small speakers option. I guess what I am after is something that will play 2.1 from downmixed 5.1 properly, allow me to select a high pass frequency for the fronts, and divert bass from 2 channel content to the sub channel with crossover frequencies of my choice. If I can't do this with software, is there a sound card or DAC with this functionality?

I have a friend who is legally deaf, and wanting to find a PC speaker system that might play nicely with his hearing aids. He's currently using a pair of Astro A40s, though his selection was mostly based on comfort and control at the time of purchase. He says audio provided by the A40s is good enough for him to enjoy music and talk over Skype, but he's wanting a speaker solution when he feels like taking them off. I know speakers will never capture the quality and direct sound as headsets in most cases, but... With this in mind... Higher frequencies he doesn't do too well with as the audio becomes incredibly indistinct and starts to blend. Bass, however, he can hear fine. Lower frequencies seem to not muddy up for him. Another example would be; When I speak he can understand me very easily. When my girlfriend speaks to him, he has a hard time distinguishing her voice apart from other people. For these kind of details... I'm at a complete loss on what to recommend, if there really is much of a difference at all within this price range or any price range. Familiarity is out the window with me on this one. I'm mostly looking at 2.1 sound systems that have somewhat directional speakers with an inline bass and treble controller. Any recommendations for anything like any of this? Appreciate any and all answers, everyone. Thanks a ton, fam! - Ape EDIT: Thanks, Dizmo. Anything $200-ish or less. My bad, completely overlooked that detail.

So I was messing around with the speaker configuration in Realtek HD Audio Manager between 5.1and stereo as well as changing plugs. I'm just a little confused on why it sounds a certain way on certain configurations, I have a Logitech z506 (I kind of regret these, popping sound on centre speaker) for watching youtube and general use. 5.1 with everything plugged in: Music is on running 2 speakers and sub, I get this, music is only 2.0 or 2.1 channels; gaming is set on surround, ok; youtube playing on all speakers, ok? 2.1 with everything plugged in: Everything is set only on 2.1, ok. 5.1 or 2.1 with just one 3.5mm (green): Music plays on all speakers but rear speakers have no vocals and centre sound like its acting as bass? Youtube is on 2.1 + centre? I kind of like the fuller sound but youtube has a bit of distortion on rear but is this suppose to happen? Also what speakers would be better if I can't get rid of the popping sound or if Logitech can't help me? Something around the same price point would be nice ($80-$150)

Not really sure what I am looking for... I know youtube only plays in 2 channels but I was wondering if there was a setting I am not seeing within the win7 audio settings or if I need to do it through a program that renders it in real time? Only 2 channel to 5.1 converters I have seen is to re-render sound tracks after the fact. Not sure if I am wording this right but I pretty much just want my youtube videos to play through all of my speakers.

Hey guys, So I am getting some Swan M50w 2.1 speakers tomorrow for $120 which I thought was too good of a deal to pass up. http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=443 My question is what DAC under $150, preferrable $100, is there that I can get that will be suitable for these speakers. I realise it's not the same as driving high ohm headphones so no real need for an amp but I'd like better quality than just onboard. I have seen second hand Essence STX cards going for about $100 but I would prefer a portable solution that I can use with my laptop and phone if I even need to. Thanks in advance!
