Hi all i just got a GIGABYTE AORUS Xtreme GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce and installed and and very impressed with its performance over my GTX 1070. I do have a questions i am seeing idle temps of 41c and load temps of up to 65c in a room with a temp of 26.6c. I have seen only a few reviews of this card and those put in at idle closer to 30c and load around 50c. Anyone have thoughts around this? Should i be concerned? As a side note with FurMark with a 30 minute run i saw no thermal throttling, it just seems a bit warm for an AIO.

Hello, I am a MoGraph artist and I recently started using GPU renderers, (Redshift and octane) , and its time to update my system after 4 years. I choosed my build carefully, I choose Threadripper because its so powerful and has 64 pci-e lanes. So I can use my 4 GPU, 16x16x16x8. Anyway here is my list, I would love to hear your recommendations and comments. MSI GTX 1080 TI GAMING X 11GB GDDR5X 352Bit (4-way SLI) ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME X399 AMD X399 Soket TR4 Ryzen™ DDR4 3600(O.C.) AMD Ryzen 1950X Threadripper 4.0Ghz Corsair 32GB(2*16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 (x2, I couldn't find set of 4 in my country) Thermaltake Toughpower 1500W 80+ Gold Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 1TB WD Blue 1TB 545MB-525MB x2 Corsair Carbide 540 Corsair Hydro H115i Edit: I also do editing, encoding, all sort of stuff, so it has to be perfect.

Hi there, I'm currently running 2560x1440 144hz using MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X (stock clock) and mainly use it for playing PUBG (getting average around 80-100 ish fps). Considering Volta will be coming in the next few months (hopefully), is it sensible to upgrade to 1080 Ti now? The rest of my specs is in my signature. I will be paying around $480 usd for the upgrade in my country. Thanks !

I bought a TCL 43S405 and the option to enable HDR in the display settings is greyed out and I can't figure out why. My PC is running a 1080 ti and I'm using an HDMI 2.0 cable via Amazon Basics. https://imgur.com/DVHJfEd BUT the DirectX diagnostic tool shows that my panel supports HDR. https://imgur.com/dbrihZn Even then, when I open the DxDiag file, it shows the display color space as P709, which means it's not advance color. https://imgur.com/bMVICWi

Hey forum, I'm building a new rig and while doing my research i found i didn't know as much stuff as i thought i did.. I don't know how pcie lanes work.. Soo I watched Linus video on this : PCIe Lanes - PCIe 8x vs 16x in SLI And now i wonder : The 8700k only has 16 PCIe lanes. From what i understand the GPU will use 16x lanes in the best scenario but could use 8x Several questions here : 1. How many CPU/PCH lanes does the mobo have ? And how do you find that number ? 2. Will the M.2 use the PCH lanes ? 3. Does using a 1080ti with only 8x lanes affects its performance? 4. Can I do SLI with two 1080 ti's and an M.2 with this setup? Also, 5. is this M.2 compatible with the mobo, and is it any good ? I'll use it for OS only Rig : ASRock Z370 Killer SLI Intel® Core™ i7-8700K Processor ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce® GTX 1080 TI 11GB OC Edition Adata XPG SX8000 <- M.2 850 500gb ssd 32gb ram 1000w psu Thank you guys

Hi guys I was wondering which one of these card is the best in term of noise 1. MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X : https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814137113 2. MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio : https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814137250 3. Asus Strix 1080 Ti : https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814126186 I can get those three cards at a roughly same price ( USD $ 950 ish in my country ), and would you recommend the cheaper variant such as: 1. MSI GTX 1080 Ti Duke ($912) : https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814137142 2. Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti White Triple Fan ($813) : https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814125955 Tell me what you think !

So I had already decided on what monitor to buy (Acer Predator Z301C 29.5-inch Curved UltraWide FHD (2560 x 1080) NVIDIA G-Sync Monitor, 200Hz, 2x3w speakers, HDMI & DP) but Im having second thoughts and would like more opinions, especially regarding your thoughts on if ultrawide is worth it, gsync, what frequency is the best, etc. I play fps and mobas, mostly PUBG and Rainbow Six Siege altho I go back to CSGO sometimes. I plan on overclocking my 1080 ti and the 15 8600k Ill pair with it. This is my planned build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ if you were curious or have some tips and I went small cause I need to fit the pc into a carry on bag so I can't build ATX. Thanks in advanced.

So I just bought a 1080 ti from newegg and I should get (and it said I did) a copy of destiny 2. Now I have a few questions about this - How/Where do I redeem the code - The system doesn't exist yet so can I download it and play it on my current system and still be able to play it on the new one (like steam) - Will the code expire If anyone knows the answers to these questions please let me know And I put this in general discussion because I didn't think it fit anywhere else, but feel free to move it if it would.

I just finished rearranging my monitors and have ran into a bit of a problem with getting all three monitors working at once. First, here's what I'm working with: MSI 1080 ti Gaming X 2 - Dell S2716DG 1440p 144 hz gsync monitors 1 - ASUS ROG PG27A (4k gsync) Not sure if this is needed, but running off a MSI X99A XPower titanium MB, 6850X, and too much ram. Earlier today, I had one dell and the asus running off of displayport, the other dell using HDMI, and my vive in the 4th hdmi slot. Well when I plugged in my monitors something changed. I had the one dell plugged in running off of an HDMI 2.0 cable , then plugged in the Asus display port cable, no problems. When I put the last display port cable in though, the Asus monitor went undetected and the last dell turned on. I unplugged the dell and the asus turned back on. Tried swapping ports, cables, but every time the asus would start saying there was no signal and Nvidia control panel stopped detecting it. I swapped the dell's cable for an HDMI and it's working fine, but I kinda need that HDMI port open for me to use the Vive unless I want to search for my mini display port cable, which I don't. Anyone know why this would happen? If I need to give better explanations, I'm more than happy to. I don't care if the Dells aren't running at 144 hz, although if there was some way to make that happen again... well I'd love you forever. I miss not being stuck on 60 hz refresh. Thanks in advance

Okay so I've been trying to get my hands on the Zotac GTX 1080 Ti PGF edition for a balls to the wall RGB build that I'm planning. I know that the card is supposed to only be marketed for china only but it's the only card out there that has well this much RGB, I don't really care that it has two somewhat like Chevy logo's on the front side. I don't really care about the price as I said it'll be ball's to the wall, currently planned to have two Asus Strix 1080 Ti's in the build and its almost $10,000 on pcpartpicker. Though I'm not sure if I can have two 1080 Ti's in the build as I plan on using the Cooler master Haf H500P case that should be on the market next month?? I know this build is and will be overkill for anything in the future. Just would like to know if anyone has heard of anything new or knows of other RGB cards. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wqF3Yr - Yeah I figured that the PSU wasn't going to work but will update it soon..

Hello, I am a HUGE Apple fanboy and I have been using iMac's since 2009s first 27inch iMac release. However, after watching Linus Tech Tips I am starting to get excited with the idea of building a custom PC. However, while comparing Apples to PCs, the iMac always seems to be a better value with significant benefits. I have my eye on one particular PC setup I have been thinking about getting over a new 2017 iMac and I would like your opinion. *Screen quality is the most important factor* Minimum Size 27inch 4K First I will compare the iMac vs PC in price (Canadian $) and specs 2017 iMac $3,241 +TAX CPU - 7700K GPU - Radeon Pro 580 8GB RAM - 2400MHZ 24GB SSD - NVME m.2 512GB Screen (Built In) - 5K Resolution, 60HZ, 10bit, 500Nits, 27inches Custom PC $2,800 +TAX | Monitor $1,400 + Tax | Total $4,200 + TAX Canadian Computers and Electronics Custom 1080ti build - link CPU - 7700K GPU - Nvidia 1080ti 11GB RAM - 2400MHZ 32GB SSD- NVME m.2 250GB HDD - 2TB Monitor (XB321HK)- 4K Resolution, 60HZ, 10bit, 350nits, 32inches The problem with the PC is that I will need a high quality display to go with my high performance new PC tower, a display that will easily put my budget over $1,000 more than the iMac at minimum. iMac Pros -Can run both Windows 10 and MacOS -Perfect and easy tech support -Amazing resale value -Amazing industrial design -No Viruses -Monitor Included -5K Screen iMac Cons -Lower performance graphics card -None Upgradeable (Except RAM, Maybe CPU) -Smaller Screen I am just not sure which one to pick, they are both amazing machines.... Please help me pick. The custom PC is almost as much as the iMac but that isn't including the price of a 4K monitor. What do I use the computer for? Really basic stuff... Browsing the internet Playing games (Starcraft 2, EVE Online, Minecraft, VR)

Hi I am building a no compromise vr build exclusively for vr and video editing and was wondering which would be better to run in it for what I need, two 1080 ti oc or two Vega. I'm using a thread ripper 1950x and 64gb DDR4 3466mhz

Hello! I have searched the entire internet for an answer and even posted about it on here, but no one is able to tell me what the hell is going on with my 1080 Ti. To put it simply I get less than 200 fps in TF2. Yes it's 1440p, but I'm running a 1080 Ti, a 1080 Ti. You might be wondering why I only said tf2. I only said tf2 because I was playing the other day after not playing for like a year, and I could tell I wasn't hitting 144hz at times. I am positive that it is a GPU problem. Any last ideas before I RMA it? P.S. Thermals are fine Alright I guess I was wrong to only use a game from 2007 as a benckmark. In PUBG I get around 60 fps, and in CS:GO I get around 200 also

From videos, and what I heard people say, im not sure if its true or not, but higher end GPU's tend to more likely have coil whine, have very higher temperatures, stressful, short lifespan, and etc I want to get a 1080 ti, but im not sure if its worth it or not.

Hello I've been looking around the web for the dimensions (length x width) for the package and the die of the GP102-350-K1-A1 (GeForce GTX 1080 Ti) and/or the GP102-450-A1 (Nvidia Titan Xp), and so far, Google has only returned area size of the die in mm2, which tells me nothing of the width and height of the package. I can try and extrapolate the thickness myself, so don't worry. Measurements have to be in millimeters.

Anyone have the Zotac 1080 Ti Mini? experiences with it?
Dingleback posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi All, I've seen the Zotac 1080 ti mini on sale where i am for what i think is a damn good price (A$1029) and so was considering getting one to upgrade my now rather anemic 660ti. Does anyone here own one and can share their experiences? I understand it gets quite hot and potentially noisy compared to larger cards but i'm interested to hear from others if that's actually a legitimate issue. Also, is it really that much of a benefit that its only 211mm? i mean a lot of even many of the tiny m-itx cases make allowance for a normal dual slot 268mm card...or would having all that extra breathing space from it being shorter help to counteract its small heatsink etc. It'll eventually be going into a SFF i7-8700k, 1440p gaming build... -
Hey guys! Basically I've been looking for some hardware to upgrade my pc for 3D rendering (GPU based). It came to my attention that a 1080 Ti is better than the Titan X (P,p) in case of rendering performance. Is there any significant difference between different manufacturers? Because there are pretty high differences in price (for example): -11GB Asus 1080 Ti: ~770€ -11GB MSI 1080 Ti: ~820€ (source: "mindfactory", a german market for pc parts) Both of them have the same amount of cuda cores. So is it worth to invest an extra amount of 50€?

Hi! I have 32" 1080p 60hz TV, GTX 1070 & i7-6700k at the moment, but seriously considering upgrading to 1080ti as some new titles (Ghost Recon Wildlands) struggle to run constant 60 fps with my 1070 even on 1080p. I also like to play heavily modded games which can really punish any card atm. Before anyone says it's overkill, I'm planning on buying new TV or monitor for gaming at some point, but that's not a priority atm as anything below 60 fps won't do (and yes, i'd like to max even crappily optimized ubisoft games and also i'd be happy to play games 1080p maxed years from now). Thing is does anybody have experiences with 1080 ti + 1080p 60Hz TV? How to tackle screen tearing? Does fast sync work? Normal v-sync doesn't work in online fps, which I mostly play, because of the lag it creates. I got pretty bad tearing with 1070 before i found drivers that worked best (in case of nvidia, not always the latest), but 1080 ti will be pushing hell of a lot more frames into those (most) titles that doesn't struggle with fps. Also will EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2 PSU be sufficient with 1080 ti + i7-6700k?Thanks in advance!

I have noticed that in some games (namely Escape from Tarkov and PUBG) i get much worse fps than I should i feel like. My gpu usage sometimes goes up to 99% and then i geat great fps, but mostly I get a not so smooth experience with somewhere between 50-70% gpu load. And before everyone start typing "CPU BOTTLE OMG" i have tried running my 7700k at 4.8Ghz and there is no difference to stock, I never get 100% usage on my cpu and never 100% usage on a single core either. Mostly it's at about 50% on one or two cores. I'm not throttling and i'm constantly at the speed I set on the cpu. I'm using an Asus Poseidon GTX 1080 ti and a 7700k with 16gb of 3000Mhz Corsair RGB ram. My resolution is 2560x1080 (Benq XR3501). If it matters I use a pair of 480gb Kingston A400 ssds in raid0 (bois raid). Note that in games like BF1 i play on ultra preset (no DX12) and 125% res scale and get 100fps. Now I know BF1 is much more well opimized than the early access games I named earlier but still. 70fps in pubg with 120% res scale and everything on high except Textures, AA and View Distance which are on ultra. My friend playing with the same settings @1440p (7700k @stock and 1080ti as well) gets 20 more fps. As I said I don't get even close to 100% usage on any core of the cpu. Thanks in advance

I was wondering how I should set up my fans in my Evolv Atx TG, I have access to 4 Noctua NF-F12 and the 3 140mm fans that came with the case. I am only using aircoolers atm but I will be getting a custom loop somewhere between now (27/9 2017) and christmas. What would be the optimal way to set up my fans so my gpu gets sufficient airflow. The temps on my 1080 ti are a little to high for my liking and even with a ambient temp that is ca 17c i still hit 85-90c if the temp limit is at 90c. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
