Hey I was recently playing an intensive game (Witcher 3) at 1440P on my overclocked 1070ti. And noticed that my monitor completely lost signal after a few seconds of gameplay while audio continued to play. This happened each time I tried to play it. I also tested on Jedi: Fallen Order and the issue repeated. The only way to get signal back was a complete restart. Temperature was around 80C at approximately 90% utilization. I have since downclocked the GPU back to stock and that has seemed to fix the issue, not sure for how long though. But as it has been working fine for almost a year and a half without any issues and then suddenly got the black screen today, should I begin to start looking at a new GPU? Or are there other steps I can take to lengthen the life span of the card. Totally 100% actually SOLVED this time. TL;DR: If your card will not boost, always shows perfcap of power, and MAYBE boosts when slammed with a massive challenge. It's probably a power delivery issue, and if it's not your PSU or cable, odds are it will take some soldering that if you are not VERY comfortable with, I wouldn't recommend. /TL;DR I've seen this same issue across the internet with no solution, now it appears we have one. So, after a lot of head scratching and moving things around, I noticed that there always seemed to be a pwr perfcap reason with this card. For a time I could reliably get it to boost the clock if hit with enough load. I already had a 2070 super on the way and intended to give this card to my wife. When I moved it to her machine, things seemed to go back to the worse state where I could almost never get this thing to operate properly. In a last ditch effort to save the card (and my wallet) I decided to take the whole thing apart again. I replaced all of the thermal pads with Arctic MX-4 compound, cleaned everything AGAIN. And resoldered the power connections and a few of the components that looked a little "less than brand new" all on the power delivery side. Now the card operates properly, the power delivery side of the card must have been somewhat degraded, and is now basically new. OLD POSTS AND UPDATES FOLLOW: Not solved: Appears I jumped the gun a bit. The card functions properly now but it appears only in synthetic benchmarks and some games... As it turns out, if you don't slam the GPU with quite a lot, it won't boost at all, even up to base clock... Older games or lower settings will keep it running at 139MHz and sometimes you'll get abysmal FPS. Other games, or going to absolute maximum settings, everything seems to end up okay. Any insight is appreciated SOLVED: everything I did is listed. last thing MAY be what fixed it, I can't be sure at this point. My ASUS ROG Strix 1070ti started behaving strangely about two weeks ago now, just overnight. I load up a game (Overwatch in that case) and the game runs at about 12FPS I started investigating and noticed that my GPU clocks were not going above 139MHz I decided to try to test this, and noticed that when I launched furmark (I have an old version 1.19.1.0) that just launching the application (not the test) the GPU would start boosting assuming there was a game or another benchmark running in the background. After searching around I found that some people had success "locking" the clock of their cards in this situation using MSI Afterburner (I only had ASUS GPU tweak installed) so I attemped to do that. Locking the clock speed there didn't do anything, until once again, I launched this version of furmark. MSI Kombuster, btw, has the same issues the games do. If I launch furmark, the KOMBUSTER test starts working properly, but it doesn't do the same thing as furmark does and force the GPU to boost. It seems odd that one application will force the GPU to behave properly while others won't and seems to point me to some sort of software system issue rather than an actual defect with the card (although I did do some investigation there) Actions taken thus far: re-flashed the BIOS on the card used DDU to uninstall drivers Rolled back to an october release of Nvidia drivers uninstalled the latest "quality update" from MS Disassembled the card and cleaned the power contacts etc. Placed the card in my wife's computer (does the same thing with the latest nvidia drivers and windows updates) Completely uninstalled the drivers AGAIN, and reflashed AGAIN, currently running on windows provided nvidia drivers as they appear to be an even older version than I can find from Nvidia. it should be noted that once I do force the card to a higher clock successfully everything appears to run fine, the GPU doesn't over heat, everything appears to be fine reported by GPU-z and HWmonitor I'll record a video of what happens to try to avoid any confusion shortly and provide a link. Edit: Video Link as promised. UPDATE: "Reset" windows 10 with the option to keep my files, reinstalled drivers, not much else, got afterburner and kombuster for testing. (MSI's tools are much better than those from ASUS) After I did that there was still no change, except that I noticed it seemed that every so often when I would ALT+Tab while running the stress test, it would just start working. I checked GPU-Z to see if anything there would help and noticed a constant PerfCap for power... so I decided to play with that some more. I did the typical up the power limits to 120% and that didn't seem to help. I'd read somewhere that playing with the voltage dial on 10 series cards didn't do anything really, so I decided not to play with it. UNTIL I DID, I enabled that in MSI Afterburner and set it to +20%.... Not sure what that did, but my card just started clocking normally again. Naturally, because I don't know when enough is enough, I started working through overclocking the thing and crashed everything ? this of course, reset all my overclock settings when I rebooted... HOWEVER EVERYTHING STILL WORKS not sure if somehow the voltage limits got screwy somehow in the firmware and flashing the firmware didn't help, but that seemed to jog it's Memory ? I did see another post about this same issue with this card on this forum, however there were no solutions. Maybe now we have one! testing with MSI Kombuster is fixed, but appears not much else. Games still don't force this GPU to come out of idle speeds.... things that work: MSI Kombustor Unigine Super Position (OpenGL/DirectX game and benchmark modes) The Witcher 2 Metro Last Light Redux Overwatch on ultra at 150% render scale (still get over 100FPS, but this should NOT be needed, lower settings should provide higher framerate, not lower) things that DON'T: Overwatch at sensible settings Dishonored L4D2

Hey guys, I just upgraded my GPU from a GTX 970 to a 1070Ti, I tought it would help in games (BF5 that I play right now). It's actually better but I think my CPU overclocked at 4.6Ghz(temps are on average around 60-65c, sometimes goes up to 70c on one core) is my bottleneck, it's always at 95-100% usage in BF5. I overclocked it with AI Suite, not manually for now. I play with a 27 inch monitor at 60fps 1440P. I get an average of 50 to 65 FPS in BF5. I didn't overclock my 1070Ti yet, but it doesn't even run at 100% usage, might still overclock it but I don't think it will make a big difference. Do you guys have any ideas how I can improve my FPS in game? Hey guys so I'm planning to do a budget oriented type of build. I can afford a 1070Ti founders edition and I would like to know if a Ryzen 5 2600X could cause any bottlenecks for my GPU because I'm really concerned as I can't afford to go up to a Ryzen 7 with my budget.

Which GPU should I choose a Zotac Mini or Zotac Amp or a EVGA SC?

After what is now almost six years of using a laptop with GT 650M, I've decided to do an upgrade, a big one. I am planning to buy 2600X and pair it with GTX 1070Ti. My first intentions were to buy Turing once it comes out. However it just isn't what I was hoping for and those prices, I don't even want to talk about that. Yes, ray tracing does look good, but that is kinda useless when you cant afford it.:D. So I quickly reopted to Pascal and I think that 1070Ti is a card worth buying. Since I want to do some 3D and videoediting besides gaming, AMD is better choice for me, especially now, when prices of Intel CPUs are so inflated I've already bought the mobo, because I got a good deal on it - I got the AIO gratis with it. There are also some other things I want to discuss. I am still not sure if I should buy the GPU now. 2070 benchmarks are just around the corner so I'll wait at least for that. However there are also rumours about yet another Polaris refresh, that could maybe lower the prices just a bit. Or maybe the prices will rise owing to US tariffs - I know that EU isn't directly affected by them, but what if manufacturers decide to increase prices here too by few percent to make the difference between EU and US smaller? I was also thinking about waiting till 7nm GPUs arrive. Like getting something really cheap now and upgrade next year. On the other hand I really don't want to wait any longer. Almost every day I see a game coming out which I'd like to play but my PC can't handle it. So, that's basically it. What do you guys think?

Hi guys! Just looking for some advice for a planed build. I'm a complete PC building newbie... but here goes. I'm looking at: An AMD Ryzen 5 2600x, because I plan on upgrading my CPU before 2020. Will this be a bottleneck? A Nvidia GTX 1070ti. Should I wait for 2070/2060? 8 gigabytes of Corsair Vengance LPX DDR 4 3000. Is that enough for 2018? A 240gb samsung 970 evo. Is that going to be too small? An ASUS B450-f Strix Gaming. I wanted dual m.2 slots and a nice mobo. Should I just buy a ryzer card and use that instead and get a cheaper board? A NZXT H500, maybe I'll get the 'i' variant. Is that a good chassis? The rig will mainly be for gaming, web development and other bits and bobs. So I recently upgraded from a 970 to a Geforce GTX 1070Ti. I played Black Ops 4 on my 970 with no problems, but after upgrading i get really bad frame issues, even when making all the settings low and changing settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel. And I deleted the old drivers using DDU and installed the latest ones already. At first I thought something must be bottle necking the system, but it didn't make sense to me that a newer card would perform worse. When I did benchmarks, UserBenchmark for example said my computer is perfect for gaming (see below). With Black Ops 4, some areas are over 170 FPS, but other areas make it come down to like 90 FPS. Moving the aim around like crazy and shooting makes it drop to 50 anywhere. (see attached screenshots) In DOOM (2016), the FPS is usually over 100, but certain action parts (glorykills for example) make it drop to below 60. In Fallout 4 (where the FPS is capped at 60), some outdoor areas make it drop to mid 50s. I don't know how to use a lot of hardware monitoring software, so I included a screenshot of HWiNFO of my GPU during a match of BO4 Multiplayer. I turned on CPU and GPU time in BO4 and saw that the GPU time was always more than the CPU. Since the higher number means it's taking longer to process a frame, does that mean the GPU is the bottleneck? I'm just not sure what the issue could be after trying to google it for a while. Any help would be appreciated. So far what I have found is (boxing day prices) an EVGA GTX 1070ti SC for $499 CAD and an EVGA RTX 2070 XC for $689.99 CAD. (Looking to stick to NVIDIA due to some exclusive rendering tools that AMD doesn't support) Any suggestions on what I should chose or if I should opt for a completely different card? Evening all fine people here at the forums. I have a big problem, I recently ordered a Cerberus 1070ti for $250 to use with my Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX. The card seems to be about 0.5-1.0 cm to thick for my case. I have no return on the card and need a solution. Will I be able to use ex. an Asus Strix stock cooler on the Cerberus card to make it slimmer. I think that my GPU will hit the plate differating the case and the PSU. So planning on a build from what I have left over. I have a i7-6700 non K. Would a gtx 1070ti paired with 16 gb of ram and a Samsung 27" curved 1920x1080p monitor work. Worried about bottlenecking or even screen tearing while playing games. Any thoughts. Thanks. ?

which one will have a best performance without OC that GPU 1. asus strix 1070ti advanced 2. gigabyte 1080 g1 gaming i know it is really overkill for 1080p 60hz gaming, but i really want to play ultra graphic without worried for maybe 2-4 years because until now i'm still playing some game always with ultra low setting with 720p resolution *lol is it enough to use 650w gold PSU to handle 1070ti or 1080? I have a r5 2600 and a 650watt g3 and I'm primarily a production person. Should I get the Rx vega 56 or the 1070ti? And is 650watts enough for the vega card?
