Hi all. I'm looking at possibly getting the RX 480 8GB upgrading from a MSI R9 270x 2GB OC gaming edition. What I want to know, how do I connect my screens? I'm using a gts 250 to get the 4th screen working atm. All 3 PC monitors are DVI or VGA, And the 4th screen/TV is HDMI. The main monitor is using an active dp to DVI adaptor. So what I'm asking is how can I get all my screens connected to the RX 480? With preferably detailed instructions? Thanks

Hey guys, As my old speakers are driving me crazy more and more, I'm looking for some new ones. I need them mostly for listening to music (not producing myself) so it's OK if they suck for gaming, because I usually use my headphones for that. I'm currently living in a really small room and that's why the speakers have to be placed in a corner, so if it's a bass-reflex design it should be at the front and not facing the corner. I really like a strong bass but also mids and highs are important to not just be there, but be clear and powerfull. Bluetooth is not really needed and just a waste of budget to me. Both passive and active speakers will work since I already have an AMP. The price: Nothing more than 600€, less is very welcome since I'm just a student. I plan on getting a job i the next months, but still 600€ is a lot of money. However, if you guys say it's worth spending 600€, I will do so. Side note: It will take a long time for me to save all the money so I might just buy the speakers next year after christmas and my birthday in feburary. So if there are any speakers coming out later this year just let me know and I will have a look at them if they come out Already a huge Thank you for your recommendations

What is one of the main reasons why a person would choose a gaming PC over a gaming console? I mean besides the Massive amount of games you have access to online. For a PC gamer one of the main reasons they choose PC gaming over console is for better graphics! Right? I mean, this is why we spend $300 to $600 on one single part of the system. The GPU. Some even spend more then that if you are lucky enough buy multiple GPUs. As a PC Hobbiest who has built a few gaming PCs. In my experience i'm finding that there is a added cost to PC gaming that is NOT covered in the total cost of buying a gaming PC or in prebuilt gaming systems. (Example ibuypower pcs) Many don't even consider or take time to include this part in their total PC gaming budget. This one part they are forgetting is crucial in getting the "maximum" PC gaming experience in my opinion. That additional part and cost would be the gaming Monitor. Yes! This is the shiny thing that really is the most important component of your build. The display is the experience, right? That is if you want to separate your gaming experience on PC from home consoles. If you think about it, one of the main reasons you buy the newest and most popular PC game is for the graphics. Am I right!? For example - Star Wars Battlefront. Great game visually. Available on home consoles and PC. I've played it on both. In my experience there was absolutely no comparison that the graphics were WAY better on my PC then on console. It made for a much better gaming experience and it was sssooo much easier to pick out the snipers way in back or hidden in the high detailed bushes. For those that want to know my test was done on a Xbox One and my personal gaming PC. I used the same 1080p Samsung 2ms response "non" gaming monitor for both. Even with my non gaming monitor my overall gaming experience on PC was better but there were plenty of issues when I played. This has nothing to do with my gaming PC. I have a GTX 970 which is a beast GPU. Not the best but definitely a good Graphics card. My PC is able to max out settings for most games at 1080p and some at 1440p but while gaming I run a lot into what is called screen tearing or lag. It is extremely frustrating. This is because my monitor can't keep up with what my GPU is outputting. Now for many games you can turn on Vsync which dumbs down the GPU so your monitor can keep up. This is not what I am looking for when I game on my PC. Having experienced this I have looked into getting a new gaming monitor only to find that many cost almost as much or more then my PC itself! This is where I have a problem. I watch a lot of YouTube. Mainly PC/Hardware reviews buy many famous and semi famous YouTubers including Linus Tech Tips, Jaystwocents, PaulsHardware, Austin Evens, Tek Syndicate and Awesomesauce Network just to name a few that I personally watch and are some of the more well known reviewers. I feel that a lot of build logs and reviews will say "You can build a console killer gaming PC for just $400, $500 or $800!" Or "check out this new GPU that cost $300 to $600 add it to your PC and get better graphics!" Whatever your budget is. Those that follow believe this is what they need to up their gaming experience and move to PC. So they save up some cash however long that takes and build their new PC or buy the new GPU. What is not generally considered is that the reviewer is testing the "gaming experience" on a high end monitor. I'm talking 4K IPS with GSync/Freesync running at least 144hz or more. Keep in mind this is not the reviewers fault at all. It makes sense for the reviewer to review this way because they are testing what that PC/GPU can do if you have the best equipment. Problem I'm seeing is that these reviews never cover what monitor the buyer should have or what they should consider buying when they build this PC or buy a 980ti GPU and include that in the cost. Side thought- Doesn't this also defeat the purpose of the FPS benchmarks if their monitor is not capable of keeping up with the GPU even at minimum 1080p? At least minimum specs would be nice so the viewer knows what they need that will support what the shiny new graphics card is outputting. As a tech savvy PC gamer I know what to look for but many times first time builders get so caught up in the build they forget about this most important part. Manufacturers don't make it easy either. The cheapest very low end 1080p gaming monitor I can find will run you around $200 but that is only bare minimum. More decent monitors are going for about $400 -$500 and high end will burn $1000 or more in your pocket. Yikes! The main problem is not the graphics. At minimum nowadays most monitors are set up for 1080p but the monitors ability to accept the output of your rig to keep things smooth and non pixelated is not there. So consider you are a first time builder and the video review you just watched for a PC you want to build is for a $500 console killer PC. If you do consider the monitor then the true cost is $700. For a $800 build, it's $1000 or more depending on the monitor you choose. Makes buying a high end gaming laptop seem worth it. Considering they are portable, take up less space, come with a trackpad/keyboard and laptop monitors are built (usually) with the hardware in mind. After watching so many build videos and GPU reviews I feel this is something that should be included more when doing a reviews. There are plenty of high end monitor reviews. Not so much for the lower end market and again, this is never covered in build logs or GPU reviews. I even think manufacturers should add something to the box so the buyer knows what they are in for. For many, paying $500 for a decent monitor isn't possible. Explaining your purchase decision to a non gaming spouse can also make you look a little insane! If you have ever asked a non tech person who wants a gaming PC if their monitor can support what their GPU is outputting they generally have no clue. They usually hook it up to their outdated monitor they probably got from a friend or bought on the cheap. Or they hook it up to a regular TV which is not much better. The buyer is then force to deal with the low end viewing experience of their monitor after spending a small fortune on the PC. Something they can get for much less if they bought a console. The question is are they getting the full experience of the PC/GPU they just spent a bunch of money on? I think not! Anyway, this is just my thoughts this subject. What do you think? This is my first real forum post and I wanted to see what the community thought on this subject! Feel free to post your thoughts below or offer suggestions for what you think would be a good solution. Thank you -James

I need help, I was planning on saving up for a gaming laptop (since I am more mobile with my things) and wanted an opinion as to what I should buy. I thought of saving up for the new Razer Blade 2016 laptop since I heard its very good for gaming. Would this be a good purchase or is there a better suggestion? Also, with the laptop should I get a monitor? if yes, which would be recommended and if not then okay. Thank you very much...

Then i'm looking for another two smaller 1080p monitors also preferably IPS with refresh rate not mattering again. Thank you for any help you can give, don't really have a set price range but around spending $600 all together is probably best.

Part 1: Hey guys, I'm trying to connect one monitor to two 16 port-kvm switches at the same time. Is it possible? Are kvm switches the best way to go? The computers I'm hooking up only have about 2-4GB Ram so I figured I wouldn't use software to do the connection job. Part 2: Also, what kind of Ethernet Switch setup should I think about? If I'm running 32 computers taht hook up to the internet what kind of router should I buy? How fast should my modem be? Thanks for your time and consideration. (I'll understand if you can't answer the Part 2 of the question seeing as how its not under this forum's topic.)

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what sort of ultrawide I should get. Honestly, this is the first time that I will be picking out a new monitor for my rig and I was wondering what sort of features are the most important for gaming. I normally don't play competitive titles so I'm looking for the best image quality for exploring games like Fallout 4 or Skyrim. My computer should be able to handle 3440 x 1440 so that shouldn't be a problem, but I also know that programs running in 1080 will appear fuzzy and less detailed even at the highest setting so I'd like to hear the experiences of people who actually had these issues. Bottom line, I'd like to hear the parts of a monitor that give the best gaming experience ranging from a curve, resolution, refresh rate, or freesync/ G-sync.

Hey there, I've gotten a kink in the coiled (telephone-style) wire of my beloved Sony MCR-7506. The kink is very high up the wire, close to the cans themselves. I've tried to untangle it a dozen times but only make it worse and then have to work to get it back to the original problem. I've attached some pictures. Anybody got a technique? Thanks.

Next year I will be building a skylake 6700k gaming computer with a TBD graphics card. I have no clue where to start when buying a monitor. G-Sync? V-Sync? Refresh Rates? Frequency? I understand all of these terms, and the many more that describe monitors; however, I don't know what aspects come into play in certain situations. For example, I'm not a competitive fps player, so do I really need a high refresh rate? I really don't know where to start comparing or looking for a monitor that I want and need. I play games mostly like rocket league, modded minecraft, League of Legends, DayZ, Skyrim, GTA. So, as you can see, I'm not in dire need of the fastest and best monitor for First Person Shooters, but I do want to take advantage of all the performance my GTX 1070 has to offer. Could you guys help point me in the right direction so I know how to start looking for monitors and what features to pay attention to. Thanks!!!!

Hi guys, so i bought a rig a bit over a year ago and as of yet haven't really needed to upgrade everything. i bought all the components for the tower and got my mouse and keyboard free with my GPU and my Motherboard respectively. This whole time I've been using a crappy TV which only outputs 50hz and I'm finally getting round to upgrading. I play a lot of fast pace games and watch a fair bit of sport so i want at least 120hz with a decent ms. (My rig will output way over 60 fps in certain games if you were wondering) I'm thinking about getting an Asus XB240H; https://www.scan.co.uk/products/24-acer-predator-xb240h-led-tn-panel-144hz-1920x1080-1ms-100m1-350cd-m-speakers-dp-hdmi-mhl-dvi-blac Just wondering if anybody knows of any 120Hz monitors that are any cheaper? Basically i dont want to pay more that £200, ideally more in the range of £150 so for you Americans lets just say under 200 dollars. Also I'm after a headset, I've got my mind set on a SteelSeries Siberia 200; https://www.scan.co.uk/products/steelseries-gaming-siberia-200-white-headset-50mm-drivers-integrated-volume-control-for-pc-ps4-xbox- Again I'm wondering if you know any that are a bit better for what i'm paying? i don't mind raising the price a little for this one. Thanks.

Hello! I am currently drastically looking around for a new monitor for my new build to come. Unfortunately living in Australia prices on hardware is very expensive, in this case with monitors. I'v been looking around in Australian stores and Newegg ( Aus ) for a: 27+ Inch G-sync 4k @ 60hz ( atleast. ) 5MS refresh rate ( or less ) IPS For the price equivalent too $750 United states Dollar. or about $980/1000 AUD So my question is, is it worth paying so much more for a monitor with g-sync with all of these specs? Is G-sync worth it compared to not having it ? Do the benefits justify the price difference between a non g-sync and g-sync monitor? Thats where i need you to help me, thanks in advance. Tpg

So I am currently designing a PC for my brother. He works at a fortune 500 company doing graphic design and various other things on his now 5-year-old computer. He has been saving so his budget is around two thousand give or take a couple hundred. I created a build on PC part picker (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ggQMZ8) but the main question I have is whether he will need a better graphics card or more graphics cards to run 2 4k monitors at 60hz each. He mainly focusing on adobe applications, but he will be working with a couple 3d design apps as well as running aftereffects and some more intensive video and graphic design editors. He usually runs about 2-4 applications at once so that's also something to consider. His main concern is that with his current computer load times for boot up and opening applications are really slow. I think that an SSD will solve that but I don't know if anyone recommends an m.2 drive.

I'm looking for a nice budget (preferably under $200) VA monitor that works well for gaming. I recently purchased the HP 25xw, an IPS panel, and although the colors and gaming performance are great, the IPS glow is very noticeable (returning the monitor). This seems to be the case with most IPS monitors, so I'm looking into VA. I'd like to find something that I can get for under $200 that has a low enough response time that I don't experience ghosting. I know it seems like I'm asking for a lot on the budget that I have, but stuff like ghosting and glow, as well as tinted colors, are very noticeable to me.

So I am looking into purchasing a dual monitor mount to hold up my two Acer Predator XB271HU. Price wise I could do no more then 250 USD and I can't do a wall mount. Any suggestions? Please and Thanks

Okay... So I'm looking for a FHD (1920x1080) monitor with decent response time (under 15ms), okay refresh rate (60Hz and up, I mean most monitors nowadays are 60Hz and up right??) and a size of at least 19" ( the bigger the better, I was going for 21"-24", but that may be asking too much)... Any suggestions? Also, I would prefer if it is a new monitor, I kinda don't trust used ones. Thanks in advance.

I just built a pretty good new gaming PC and I can't decide on what size or ow many monitors I should get. Should I get 3x 27 inches or 2x or should i get 3x 24 inches or 2x or 2x 27 inches vs 3x 24 inches I seriously can't decide. Btw I mostly do gaming and graphic designing stuff, also I multitask a lot.

So I am so very close to pulling the trigger on a 1440p G-Sync monitor. It would be awesome to get an ultrawide but I think that's a bit ways off. So is 4K at the moment for me. Right now I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD 1080p 60Hz 32" TV. It's good for console gaming but I cannot wait for the day that I don't have to keep VSync enabled on PC and I mainly game on PC these days anyways. I'm stuck though. Buy the monitor now or wait till near the end of the year for sales. Are there good sales on top tier monitors or do they usually keep the $600-$850 value/price? I am also unsure if I should buy it now or wait till I build a new rig sometime next year with an i7 and GTX 1080(or Ti), etc.. With Pascal should we expect some update to the g-sync technology or is it going to stay how it is for a while still? Monitors have been getting superb the past few years but it seems they are slowing down a bit. If I buy now then that will prolong when I will be able to build my new rig and there may be something better by that point as well. At the same time it's getting harder and harder to hold off on a 1440p G-Sync. My current rig won't like it very much though: i5 2500K, 8GB RAM, GTX 780, Samsung EVO 480 SSD and I don't want to incrementally upgrade anymore. I will have more frame dips playing on 1440p than what I currently have on 1080p but the G-sync will help with that and I won't have to worry about capping the frame rate with v-sync on Overwatch or whatever else. So I need some advice on what one or two good G-Sync monitors there are(I know ASUS ROG is pretty solid), and if I should hold back till end of year sales or closer to when I build my Pascal rig next year, or if it's pretty safe to purchase now. What do you think? Thanks for you input!

Currently I have a 390 nitro and an i5 4690k. Right now I have a really crappy 5ms response time ips 60 hz asus monitor. I play games like counterstrike and overwatch so I am wanting to get something a bit more fit for fps games. I have found a few monitors in my price range. 1. http://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PF-24-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XBEI?ie=UTF8&keywords=144hz freesync&qid=1465269439&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 2. http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2411Z-Monitor-Supported-seamless/dp/B00ITORITU?ie=UTF8&keywords=benq gaming monitor&qid=1465268389&ref_=sr_1_5&s=pc&sr=1-5 3. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B013CRPUBQ?psc=1 4. http://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PQU-Ultimate-Performance-Professional/dp/B00HY7PAUC?ie=UTF8&keywords=aoc 144 hz freesync&qid=1465268583&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 BenQ is a really trusted brand I know that much but the other monitors have freesync which would be nice to have. What monitor would you recommend out of the four. Are nixeus and aoc good quality brands that I would be fine trusting. Or should I give up freesync for what I am assuming is better build quality overall with BenQ. Thanks for the recommendations!

Alright, I have an odd question here, and I'm sure someone here has the same as I do. I have 3 monitors all different sizes. 1 TV: Plasma, 42 inch 2 TV: LED, 23 inch 3 Monitor: LED, 20 inch They all run at 1920 by 1080 pixels. How can I get a wallpaper that spans across all the screens without it looking blurry on any of the monitors. Every time I try a 5670*1080 wallpaper and apply it, the wallpaper look very blurry on all the monitors, I even tried a triple 4k. Any ideas guys?

Am I the only one that finds it annoying how they call it "4k" the resolution is 3840x2160, which is indeed better but aren't all the other resolution names defined by the pixels in height? ex; 1080p, 720p, 480p, and so forth. But 4k gaming at decided do round up the 3840 pixels in width to what many may initially feel is 4000 pixels tall in a 16:9 ratio. Am I correct or am I just misinformed?

I’m going to get a GTX 1070, and I was wondering if G-Sync is required for a fully enjoyable experience? I was looking at getting the 24” Acer Predator Monitor (XB241H), but I kept reading that the difference between 1080p and 1440p is huge and I should invest in that. Then I started looking at the Dell S2716DG, but then I kept reading that TN’s colors are crap compared to IPS. So now we’re looking at spending nearly $700 which is a little outside of my price range. Then I kept reading that G-Sync isn’t really needed with 144Hz monitors. So my question is if I can’t afford something like an ASUS ROG Swift, what should I sacrifice? I don’t care if it’s 24” or 27” What should be my order of importance when choosing a monitor? For Example: 1440p > 144Hz > G-Sync > IPS. Or if I should REALLY squeeze my budget and get the whole 9 yards… I pretty much play many types of games from Overwatch, to Mirror’s Edge, to Civ V, to League of Legends, to Fallout 4, to Undertale…. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey guys, I've decided to go for a QHD superwide and I am now torn between the Acer X34 and the ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q. From what I can tell they are more or less identical, with Asus being slightly more costly, albeit for better aesthetics. Which is better? Or is there a better choice than either of them? Any advice would be great! Thanks!
