  1. An audio interface helps a lot wth this microphone. I found that using a stand alone power supply has the mic cut out often enough when I was doing vocal recordings that I got a Uphoria UM2 from Behringer. Its a nice budget interface that will improve your audio set up and give you a good upgrade path when you decide to go with something better like a MXL 990 or AT 2020.
  2. Its not to bad buying a used video card but if I remember what Luke said in a Scrapyard Wars video correctly look for keywords that indicate if it was heavily used and may not be up to snuff like folding at home. And if I got that wrong just be careful. Yes worry if thats the case.
  3. the 380x from Powercolor https://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr9380x4gbd5ppdhv2e
  4. The increased storage is better than the performance increase from the Black drive and if you're storing games on it they dont need that extra performance.
  5. Hey Im looking to get some new headphones and I saw the HD598s from Linus' review and wondered about all of your thoughts. Should I get them or are there better? I am nt bg on bass and like good clear treble. Also what DAC or Headphone amplifier wold go well with these? Thank you.
  6. I see nothing wrong here but I got to ask are you just gaming? I imagine not.
  7. Big fan of the classified boards but asus deluxe board is a good board as well.
  8. The 380. You might save more cash though if you choose a 280x.
  9. Good cpu. Just get a new vido card. I dont think it needs to be said anymore but yeah a 390 would do good.
  10. Im not concerned about that. I just want to see how much power I can get out of the old thing. A silly project for the weekend.
  11. Recently got an Optiplex 745 from the trash, it runs fine, but its missing a hard drive and 3gb of the RAM it was supposed to come with. I replaced the hard drive and got a replacement 8gb of RAM on the way as well as a replacement PSU. I was wondering, as I am not familiar with the technology, what GPU could I put in the machine that wouldnt be bottle necked by the older hardware. I was thinking something like a Nvidia 500 series graphics card. Give me suggestions please. Thank you.
  12. You are correct on the ram but the difference between an air cooler and a lquid cooler is 1 or 2 degrees. Just a better cooler in general but I prefer an AIO
  13. 1. Get an SSD 2. Get a 2x 4gb RAM kit 3. Get an ASUS z170-a 4. Get a AIO liquid cooler
  14. When I move my PC I remove everything but the mobo, cpu, and RAM and try to cushion everything. You may not need to do that but I havent had anyting break yet. And make sure your cushionng doesnt break your parts either like having conductive material inside the case.
  15. Im unsure. Watercooling is definetely a good option to consider. I agree with this person but instead of getting different 390s get a higher end card. If you plan on getting a third 390 that adds up to roughly the same price as a 980 ti or r9 fury.
