  1. A little teaser, of a very early mockup. I created a 25mm (1 inch) space behind the motherboard to hide some electronics, cables and stuff. Radiator will have 2x120mm fans, one in the back and probably a 200mm in the roof (not visible). Still thinking about flow-directions of air. Be patient, better pics comes when i have more progress to show
  2. Backplate cut, some minor sanding to do and other ventilation holes. But this is the layout, so far
  3. Bought this one just to check it out for a review, but i got stuck with it, really like the form and size of it and plenty of space on the insides. First up, some pics of the case. My idea isnt clear yet, so no project name, i´ll roll as i go with this one. Started out with hiding the fugly LED corner with some matte black vinyl. Sorry, cellphone pic. Will replace it later And painted the bottom gray part, to fit my other color schemes i have on stuff. Sorry, cellphone pic, will replace it later. Started to rip it apart, and was thinking. How about flipping the mobo standing, and turn the PSU horizontal to get more space for other stuff in the bottom and radiator to the left. hmm, whyyyy cant i just paint a small detail and be done with it Back plate cut away, i left some of the frame still there to have something to add the acrylic to. Noone will see the back side anyways. Will probably just add some bond/putty to the edges and wrap it in matte black vinyl Its going gooooood right now, my earlier idea by standing the motherboard up vertically is what i will do now Not sure if standing or having the PSU horizontal right now, i´m thinking about using a SFX psu, as i´m not going to use a extra GPU. But at the same time, it would be cool to buy a smaller GPU just to make it a powerful little devil Well, all these ideas...

    Wargames WOPR case

Glad you like this strange project Made a new "tower" tonight, this is the biggest problem i have, i cant get it to fit correctly, proportions are off if i look at my replica and the movie the same time Too much attention to details i think, i hope this is the last version. Its drying now from the first layer of base paint. Yes, its not cut to correct size yet, lower part of the tower is not straight, i know I´ll add a screenshot from the movie also, to show where i´m going with this

    Wargames WOPR case

Been working on this the latest weeks and finalizing most of the parts. Also had to strip all base paint due to flaking, that took some time Next step is a layer of base paint that can be sanded to fill the pores and scratches, and glue all stuff together. The WOPR is alive, and its time to get it together, right now
  6. Been working on the black one, getting closer on that one so i show progress from both the white and black in the future A mockup of all the parts.
  7. Well, this is done enough right now. I have some small details left to do, as lacing the cables, adding two more memory modules and stuff like that. But i need this computer now so i have to get it up and running
  8. Made some more progress in this mod. Side panels, i use the side panel with buttons and audio jacks from the original panel. And here is the side panel for the black prodigy (yeah, i´m making one white, one black and one Black Phenom cut the same way) Some bubble-popping to do before its done. I was trying with adding a Be Quiet logo on the acrylic, then wrap flat black on top of it to get embossed logo, worked pretty well.
  9. Im gonna use a PicoPSU that sits in the 24pin connector, and a power brick outside the case. But if i want to mount a SFX psu i can easy do this by making a standing piece from the floor to screw it into.
  10. I bought it at a Swedish community for $45 six months ago Its pretty much the power i need for this project!
  11. No problem with a SFX psu, but i´m gonna use a PicoPSU as im not gonna overclock, use external gpu´s or anything else heavy, just a small SSD.
  12. Some hardware pics, like shown in the pics there is alot of space left for drives or a SFX PSU. I will just use a small SSD so no need for space in my case. And, it can be cut a inch more on the height if a H60/80/100 is used
  13. Something like this will be the end result, + a Bitfenix logo somewhere. Didnt have enough acrylic at home for side panels, so im testing with some white ABS. Made the plate for the motherboard today, and tested to install the parts, works well! Put together with double sided tape right now, so a bit hanging here and there
  14. Its getting closer Front panel need some more love, but in overall i´m satisfied. White enermax fans in the top. Next up, motherboard base.
  15. There is space for a 120mm fan in the front and a 80mm in the back, and one 120 in the floor in front of the motherboard, i probably just go with one in the front and let the one in the roof suck air in. No big heat producer so probably no biggie. Or use front + floor to suck air in, and exhaust in the top. And for PSU i´m gonna use a PicoPSU, but i can if i want put in a SFX psu with ease.
  16. Haha, the big ones i do takes alot of time. One is done (the prodigy workstation) and tomorrow is the Air540 done This is just one i need quicker than the others.
  17. Well, not again huh ? Need a HTPC for my living room. Never found a case i wanted, so i took a white Prodigy i had ad remembered its pretty easy to mod it. == HARDWARE == Zotac G41 ITX motherboard Intel E6600 cpu 8GB ram Will try on the onboard graphics at first, if i need more power i have a 6570 low profile card to use with a riser. So i tested it out with some 4mm ABS plastic and it was good, this gray will be painted later on and not be visible as the front panel goes on the outside of it. So here it goes, build thread No#... too many
  18. Personally i dont check out unboxings, they give me nothing. Sometimes it may be fun to see how a product looks like, but no more. Teck quickie is better, just showing a box and how to open it isnt worth putting time into in my opinion. Or more extensive reviews with a conclusion to make something out of. Sorry for bad english
  19. A smaller update, i got into trouble by measuring the wrong GPU, too much projects going on Well, here is the setup right now. Red panel on the GPU is off and i probably wrap it or paint it, and polish the pipes a bit. Going to re-wrap the bottom part of the reservoar pipe-part also, its messy. Mockup with GPU, fans and res-pipe. Some sleeving, going to try some cable sewing to get them into bundles
  20. I quoted the pics i was talking about, not all pics as you can see. I removed two more to keep it smaller.
  21. Let me tell ya, you have alot of work ahead of you I started my CM2 in May and only had the panels cut yet, programming the lights and making the panels to hold them takes... yeah, hours Looking forward to your creation, you probably end up finished before me, i do mine in acrylic and smaller, about 45x45cm. Let me know if you need any information about the CM2, i had contact with the creators of it and have alot of specs if you need anything to complete your project! A quick hint, you have too much space between each cube in relation to scale. Insert a image on a CM2 and scale the image to get better spacing and the end result will get better too! I may have scale skp files if they are any help for you. Have a good trip, will watch your build log!
  22. Thanks for the tip, i ordered two 80mm fans now for this. Going to change the fan in the hotswap too, its loud as h...
  23. Yeah, i wish they had more 3,5" bays but a hotswap is a easy fix for that. Looked at your thread but didnt see any pic of your hotswap, but the idea with rear fans was a good one, i steal that
  24. Aaand, the pipe-parts for the reservoar is done. Just a light sanding and clear coat to be done. Will give the res a stealth look, only tubing visible is the ones from the radiator and cpu block. The insides Panel cut and test fitted, some minor changes to do before vinyl wrapping. And with the reservoar test fitted...
  25. Made all parts for the inside this weekend and got some vinyl to cover it with. When i got to the reservoar i didnt really like seeing the fittings on top and bottom. After some thinking i found two 50mm plastic pipes, and got an idea. This will hide the connections and just show the reservoar, perfect!
