  1. I'm curious has their been a reply from LTT staff on whether its true on the selling/raffling off the prototype as I can't imagine they would be that reckless? (The thread is moving to fast to keep up and its 1.30am here). I remember being uncomfortable after watching the video were they noticed they had the wrong gpu and still went ahead with the video, then doubled down on the wan show. This by itself was bad enough. I never noticed any of the errors in the other videos as I just implicitly trusted LTT until it was mentioned in the GN video.
  2. I upgrade the GPU to a 7900XTX. Going AMD for the first time in years. Between the Nvidia tax and the 12 pin cable issues, I figured it was time to switch. I was pleasantly surprised how good the GPU drivers are now. They seem to be very light weight. I also replaced all the drives with a 2TB Seagate 530 for the OS, 4TB Seagate 530 for game and a 1TB SN850 for data.
  3. I'm not saying its a 1 in a million problem or a 1 in a billion problem. I'm saying its a problem as I seen one perfectly seated connector that failed. Before this would have been classed as use error and if it went to the vendor they may not have honoured the warranty as they have a get out of jail video with Gamer Nexuses video and Nvidia piggy backing off it. Luckily Cable mod did honour it in this case. You could use your selection Bias example the opposite way around also. Gamer Nexus replicated the issue with the connector not fit correctly so it must be all are caused this way. (They even pointed out that the above card had heat lines that suggested it could have been out which means their testing was flawed as even a fully closed connector caused that heat line based on their last video.) Its to do with that one specific card that is the big problem and not the multiple other cards as luckily it melted and seized in place so you could get a perfect shot of how it failed while fit correctly. Also if a vendor is not going to honour warranty on a melted card, how are they going to differentiate between user error or a card failure? The line that Gamers Nexus pointed out which Gamers Nexus also said was on that perfectly seated card?
  4. This image would suggest otherwise. This is how the melted connector was fit. As you can see it was seated 100%.
  5. Northridge just posted a reply video and shows a close up of the connector connected properly. This proves its not user error. This is what I was pointing at from his first video.
  6. I watched that video when released, the point GN missed is the cable mod adapter was clearly connected in the video so it wouldn't have occurred in the way he previous talked about. You can pause the video and see clearly its connected 100% before he destroys it taking it off.
  7. Did you watch the video? the connector was melted to the cablemod adapter and it looked perfected fitted. The other end of the cablemod adapter looked undamaged so your theory gets thrown out the window.
  8. What about the second 4090 in the same video with a melted connector with not using the cable mod adapter.
  9. It would melt the connection point were its not fitted together so in this case it would be the connector end and the connector of the cable mod.
  10. If it was the user cables, would it not stand to reason that it would melt on the cable end of the cablemod connector and not between the GPU and cablemod connector.
  11. I'm concerned with the hassle of having to warranty replace it. Especially with putting a waterblock on it can affect warranty. With the Asus board, I'm still on the original bios that doesn't have any of these issues. I'm avoiding updating my bios until these issues are solved to 100% avoid this risk.
  12. Hey, was wondering what everyone things of the likes of NorthridgeFix's video on the 4090 FE melting even with the cablemod adapter which would suggest the melting is not use error unlike what others have said? Hopefully I'm allowed post the video here: I was looking into buying a new GPU today so just did some research and found this which is now pushing me towards a 7900xtx as I don't want the hassle of having to get it repaired.
  13. I'm sure others could come up with something better but here is an option. I used Mindfactory and caseking as I've found these the best suppliers to use in Germany. 7800X3D https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/AMD-Ryzen-7-7800X3D-8x-4-20GHz-So-AM5-WOF_1481120.html 32Gb ddr5 https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/32GB--2x-16GB--Corsair-DDR5-6000MHz-C36-Vengeance--K2--schwarz_1457000.html Am5 B650 https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/ASRock-B650-LiveMixer-So-AM5-retail_1469837.html 2TB M.2 https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/2TB-Kingston-KC3000-NVME-M-2-SSD_1430649.html 12VHPWR https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/be-quiet--12VHPWR-PCI-E-Adapter-Cable-CPH-6610_1470257.html (Check compatability with below psu, I can't read german even though I live in Germany) 1200W PSU https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/1200-Watt-be-quiet--Straight-Power-11-Platinum-Modular-80-_1346173.html Cooler https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/be-quiet--Pure-Loop-280mm-All-in-One_1377034.html O11 Evo https://www.caseking.de/en/lian-li-o11-dynamic-evo-tempered-glass-black-geli-884.html?flxSmartSuggest=1 (Reversable) I think it comes within a euro or two of your budget.
  14. I've added the pump cover and replaced the silver allen key fittings with micro torque fittings so it appears more seemless.
  15. Yea the button screws are a pain anytime you want to do maintenance on the system. I looked into that but for this version (has the phase change unit as its taller) its about 1k and to buy again id rather spend the cash elsewhere.
  16. I had to downsize this PC as my son really wanted the little devil case and I wanted him to have it. Before: After:
  17. I finally replaced the bitspower fittings as the other fittings arrived. I accidently ordered the large plugs rather than the micro ones so I couldn’t replace the silver plugs.
  18. I will be ordering a 7950x3d when they are out and will try delid the 7950x as it will just be for my work pc which is not in any hurry to upgrade.
  19. Its actually the way new EK parts are designed that its easy to perfectly align tubes like in the pictures. It looks much better in person.
  20. I've just finished my new build and transferred over my old GPU as I haven't decided on using an RTX 4080 or a 7900XTX. AMD 7950x G.Skill 64Gb 6000mhz cl30 ram Nvidia Rtx 3080 ti Lian li Evo case 1Tb SN850 M.2 SSD 2Tb SN850 M.2 SSD 2TB KC3000 M.2 SSD 2 * 360mm EK P360 Radiators EK Lian Li Evo Distro Plate EK D5 pump EK watercooling fittings bar some temp bitspower fittings I used while waiting for the last fittings to arrive. RM1000 psu with cablemod cables
  21. Upgraded to a 3080Ti and now I've picked up a 7950x and an Asus X670 Extreme. I'm just waiting for the new EK waterblock to be delivered before I fit it.
  22. This is the back and bottom compartment of the UV rig. I still need to change the gpu cables and add the drain port to the back of the case instead of just hanging their.
  23. Work in progress for both of the systems so far. Bit rig needs a clean on the plexi. The server I used a really cheap case and just cut it up to fit a 360mm rad.
  24. I figured as I was posting my own pc's on here I would update a picture of my sons I built him for christmas. I haven't fitted the UV lights yet and I've braided cables ordered but other than that it was complete for Christmas plus some upgrades for his backup pc. 3950x, 32gb 3600mhz ram, 2080 ti, 32" curved 1440p monitor, 1tb m.2, other ssds/drives in the bottom, 27" curved 1440p monitor, Phanteks Evolv X, Phanteks 1000 watt psu.
  25. These are the parts I have left over for the server: 1950x 128gb 3600mhz ram 1tb 8200 ssd 2tb 8200 ssd 1tb SN850 ssd 1tb SN850 ssd 1tb Sandisk ssd 800gb Intel ssd X399 Zenith Extreme Only a small bit of spinning rust as I've a 2U dell R720 with 100tb of storage 2 * 4tb hd 10tb hd 360mm rad, tonnes of bitspower fittings and a corsair res/pump combo. 1000watt Seasonic Prime Tx I just have to find a suitable server case for it all.
