  1. Hello all, I've haven't been following the PC scene for awhile. I've heard many, including Linus say 2014 is going to be the year of the PC. Why exactly is that, is it broadwell and nvidia 800 series. The reason I ask is I've finally saved up enough for a decent PC to replace my now 5 year old PC and I was wondering if waiting for what ever is to come to be released would be better or just build one right now. Thanks to all who reply.
  2. thanks very much.
  3. Hello all, a friend of mine is looking for a laptop for some softcore photo editing. The budget is no more than 1000 us dollars. I think an ssd would be nice to have but is it a must. Also would a i5 work (well) or is it i7 all the way. How big of a difference is a dedicated graphics card like nvidia going to make. What are some recommendations any of you have. Also she'd like best buy to stock/sell it since it's the only decent electronic store in our city Thanks in advance for all your help.
  4. If your tired of missing the videos of your favorite youtuber then here is a link to the old youtube sub box. I have never missed any of my favorite videos. After you click the link below just make it a booked marked page and use it instead of the regular one. http://www.youtube.com/my_subscriptions?feature=mhee This is the old sub box compared to the new one http://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions
  5. Hi all, I was thinking of using Linux on my next build, but I have a few questions about it. I will use the computer for mostly gaming and use some Adobe programs (photoshop, Flash, etc.) Will I be able to run most programs that work on windows? (steam, chrome, adobe, etc.) Is Linux good enough for everyday use? What are the down falls of Linux? What distributor do you recommend?
  6. Hello all, I am planning on making a new PC and was wandering if it is possible to just buy a key to activate windows since I already have the disc.
  7. Thanks for all the replies I appreciate the help
  8. In this video the guy recommends to exhaust the top out. Do you know why or does it really make a difference. If its cause of dust i would put a filter on the top if I were to do your setup.
  9. If I have a 240 rad in the front of the case with the fans sucking in and a 240 rad on the top of the case with the fans sucking out will that create a positive pressure if I leave the back fan out. Also will it matter if I leave the back fan out.
  10. Granted, But its doesnt have a engine so you have to drive it like the flintsones I wish I beat every game I played
  11. Thanks for all the help guys
  12. One monitor for now that I already have. It's just for gaming and the loop would be mostly performance but I'd like it to look good too.
  13. Hello, I'm wanting to upgrade from my 3 year old computer to the new haswell chipset. I also will want to do a custom water cooling loop. Any recommendations on radiators, pumps, tubing, coolant, waterblocks and res brands would be nice. I live in the US and would like to spend no more than $1500 on the computer parts and no more than $500 on the water cooling parts. Any help is really appreciated and I thank you all for the help in advance. CPU: 4670k MB: I would like it to be m-atx to keep the build as small as possible. I'd also like it to have decent on board sound. Any recommendations would be nice. Memory: I thought Linus said one time its a good idea to get a 16 gb kit so its easier to upgrade, but anyways any recommendations on 8 gb or 16 gb kits. SSD: recommendations, Atleast big enough to hold os, but some games would be nice PSU: What brand do you like most/ had the best experience with GPU: thinking gtx 770 but if I could fit a 780 in my budget that would be nice
