  1. Hey guys need some advice here. So recently I just purchased a second 780ti due to its massive price drops and was about to install it into my system when I realized that 4 pci-e 8 pin cables sticking out the side was quite unsightly, so I was wondering if I could use one 8 pin which has an additional daisy chain 8 pin on it to plug into the 2 8 pin slots on a single 780ti. This however might cause an issue as i've read somewhere on the web that a single 8 pin connector can only supply 150 watts of power whereas the 780ti takes in roughly 250 watts under load. So what is the solution? Is it safe to daisy chain 8 pin connectors or just go with 4 8 pins? Thanks a lot guys! PSU: cooler master V1000 GPU: 2 gigabyte gtx 780ti windforce
  2. Thanks guys, I have to save up before any decision is made anyway . So waiting for the release of 300 series or the 980ti benchmarks isn't an issue. Once again, thank you for your comments and advice!
  3. Hello all, Just this august I completed my first build with some (or so i thought) latest computer technology to make an value optimized (not really) 4K gaming rig, here are my specs: i7 4790k Asus maximus 7 ranger mobo h100i v1000 psu and a 780ti graphics card Asus pb287q (its a tn panel, slightly more easy to run than ips, hence gaming wasn't too bad) Unfortunately due to my lack of appropriate research, I did not correctly assess the market and in hindsight i should've waited another month or so to complete my build because thats when the 980 was announced, i've noticed several improvements of the 980 over the 780ti, but it wasn't good enough for me to sell my 780ti for a brand new 980, but with newer titles coming out i'm worried about frame rate dips at 4k resolution. I've come up with two solutions: 1. Buy a 980 after I've saved up for a while 2. Use the money i've saved up to plan and implement a water cooling rig for all the components, i've done some calculations already the price is slightly cheaper than buying a 980. What are your thoughts? I appreciate any and all comments, thanks
  4. Hello there, I recently built my own machine roughly around 2 months ago with the following specs: Asus ROG z97 ranger intel core i7 4790k corsair h100i gigabyte windforce 780ti wd black 1 tb samsung 840 ssd cooler master v1000 psu Asus PB287Q Recently there has been the release of the much hyped about 980 and 970 and upon reviewing the newer model compared against my 780ti, it provides many considerable benefits with not much of a price rise. Now my original plan was to get two 780ti in sli to run my 4k tn panel which would be sufficient to run most next gen games at high or ultra at native resolution. But i did not get the second 780ti due to budget constraints, thus i viewied the second 780ti as an upgrade for the future. But with the release of the 980 by feelings are mixed. The bottom line, should i get a secondary 780ti or get a single 980?
  5. IPS screen as well as the signatures.
  6. Dat bezel though. But in all seriousness, the 500 plus pixel screen is truly amazing, one of the reasons why I want this phone.
