  1. My favorite thing about this laptop would be its appearance, it's a pretty sexy laptop.
  2. @Coombzy Thanks a lot for the help. The build looks amazing but I'm still not too sure about the display, I play lots of competitive games (such as CS:GO, most MOBAs, as well as other online FPS) as such I'd think a TN panel would do good for me, I've never actually used an IPS panel before but I heard that the response times really affect your gaming. I also heard that G-sync looks great, which was the reason I wanted the display in the first place. I thought of the 1440p res as an added little bonus . Another thing is that I don't mind spending extra money for an i7, I'm more than likely going to major in some engineering specialization and the i7 might help with some software. That being said, I tried to combine your build + my old one, I ended up with this: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($334.99 @ NCIX US) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-C12P SE14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($59.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII GENE Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($199.99 @ NCIX US) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($154.89 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($138.23 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.91 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($599.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($599.99 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($84.99 @ NCIX US) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G2 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($136.81 @ Newegg) Total: $2362.78 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Basically, I'm just adding that extra $100 towards the i7 and the ROG mobo, which looks cooler in my opinion. Oh, and the 2x780 Ti is really gonna power up this beast, but will the 3gb vram be enough for 1440p?
  3. Hello, new member here. I was wondering if I can get some opinions on my next build, I'm moving to Canada this year to study and I'll probably be residing on campus so I'll need a small form factor. I was l scouring the internet for monitors and I came across the Asus ROG 1440p gaming monitor, it looks pretty cool. But I've never built a PC for anything more than 1080p, so I need some help with this build especially with the GPU. Hopefully once I sell my old PC and combine it with my savings I should have around $4000 to use on the build. Here is what I came up with so far, I could use some opinions: Case: Corasir 350D (Micro ATX) CPU: i7-4790k + Noctua cooler Motherboard: Asus Extreme VII Gene RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 16GB (I don't know much about RAM but I see this set up in most builds) SSD: 120GB Samsung 840 series HDD: WD Blue 1TB GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB Superclocked in 2-way SLI PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000W And last but not least the display: Asus ROG Swift pg278q Thanks in advance
