  1. I have done that and it's the same story, works with the MBA but not on the desktop. For those wondering, I never had an issue with the NIC on my mobo before.
  2. Unfortunately none right now although one is coming soon. I have tested the connection with my macbook air and I do get a connection and everything is fine on the MBA but when it's on the desktop nothing goes through...
  3. Yea they are the latest ones. I got a Realtek® 8111C on my mobo.
  4. None. There is only the mobo's NIC that is all
  5. So the second floor of my house is already wired up with cat5 (not cat5e as the house predates cat5e) wires. I recently decided to move my modem to the basement and hooked up all the cat5 drops to a switch. When It came to the only room that has a desktop in, my switch indicated that the connection was up with a 100mbps speed and full duplex enabled, this was when the desktop is OFF with the power cable still connected to the wall outlet. When I turn on the desktop the connection link goes from up to down and everything indicates to nothing as if there isn't any connection what so ever, but the patch cord is connected to both the keystone jack and the ethernet adapter on the desktop. Any ideas?? The drop is on the second floor fyi. Switch: Netgear GS725Tv3 Modem: SmartRG SR505n
  6. Just switched to teksavvy from bell and I am beyond happy right now. The process was really smooth and there weren't any hiccups what so ever during the transfer and installation. Definitely would recommend teksavvy.
  7. 3x 1GB modules with 3x 2GB modules. Very interesting, future proofing is an other point that I forgot to mention that I'm looking for.
  8. Just one screen, I use the other one as a productivity screen.
  9. If I'm correct that is the one without a 6 pins? Wouldn't I be running into some issue with powering it? I don't know if the power specifications of PCI-E 3 .0 changed from PCI-E 2.0...
  10. The GTX 760 and R9 270 are within my budget. Definitely going to look into those.
  11. Hi guys! I've been contemplating on upgrading my GPU and would like some recommendations since I've been quite out of the loop in terms of PC hardware for this gen. My current GPU hasn't been upgraded since my rig was built, so I've been running with the same card for about 6 years. What I'm looking for is a card that is reasonably priced, my budget is about $300. I would also like a card that won't go berserk in terms of power consumption. I'm also running a dual monitor setup both being 1080p screens. My rig: CPU : Intel Core i7 920 OCed @ 3.5 GHz Motherboard: Asus P6T PSU: Corsair TX650 650 Watts Memory: 9GB of Corsair XM3 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD4830 SSD: OCZ Vertex3 120GB HDD: Western Digital Green Caviar 1TB Thanks for you help!
