  1. I was literally about to make a post regarding similar issues I'm having with the aw3423dwf. I'm glad that it really seems like HDR is on the cusp of getting better. Although the setup for this monitor can be a pain, no one seems to agree lol. I ended up essentially using HUB's (or rather, MUB's) settings: HDR Peak 1000, with console mode on. I also did Windows' HDR calibration thing as well. But you're 100% correct, it's deifnitely a new look to get used to. The one thing that kinda still confuses me is when HDR is on, how does Windows handle photos viewed in the gallery? I haven't particularly noticed any sort of desaturation or washing out with Windows HDR constantly being on, but it's hard to side by side compare as my other monitors aren't the most accurate LCD panels, and if I switch HDR on and off on the AW, the screen goes black as it remaps things.
  2. I'm looking to find somewhat of a bulk quantity of some NVIDIA Network cards, specficially the NVIDIA ConnectX-7 400GbE (MCX75310AAC-NEAT). Due to their doscontinuance, a lot of the retailers seem to be out of stock. Is there a website that specializes in or offers hardware like this that may be from defunct data centers tyring to liquidate assets, or? I apologize if this is the incorrect section to post in, mods please feel free to move it if needed. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
  3. A couple weeks ago, I got a ReShade for Elden Ring going (Elden Reshade, specifically), and for that to work, I had to specifically get the "bright fix" version for that reshade, because per that preset's author, the reason why some people need to use a "bright fix" (or else everything looks over exposed) is because "Your game or rendering device is not allowing the gamma control to work and thus the internal brightness is not being clamped within the range specified in the code template". I think I might have that issue. Because not just in Elden Ring, but the lighting has also looked way off in other games I've tried different shaders on, particularly with Ray Tracing (like Minecraft, for example). My relevant specs are GPU: RTX 4080, and monitor: LG 27GN950B. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
  4. I've definitely done that step. I even ran it again after you commented, and still no luck. I've also created the user 'danbooru`, I'm able to login to the server as that user. And I switched users when the guide instructed me to do so. On the time running it here, when I did the install of the no document bundler, it came back as "missing gem" or something like that.
  5. I'm trying to setup a self hosted instance of danbooru, an image sharing site. I'm following this guide to installing it, but when I reach the "bundle exec rake db:create db:migrate" command, it fails, and spits out the error "connection to server at "127.0.0.1", port 5432 failed: fe_sendauth: no password supplied". I think I've narrowed it down an issue with the pg_hba.conf file. I've tried to edit it to just give "trust" permission to everything I guess so that it doesn't have any problems connecting to itself or setting up. Attached is the picture of what the file looks like. I guess I'm confused on what values need to be changed and where and what the end product should look like. I'm using "sudo nano /etc/postgresql/11/main/pg_hba.conf" to edit the file. Thanks for any help.
  6. Thank you very much, this has helped a lot!
  7. Thanks for the awesome reply, that helped a lot. The program is run through Ubuntu, so I got my feet a bit wet setting that up through a VM and running it there. Once I have things going on the machine, to make it web facing, how do I know/specify which IP and/or URL to go to so others can access it?
  8. [I wasn't quite sure which category to post this under so please move it to the appropriate one if this is incorrect] I want to host an image booru using Szurubooru, and I've been able to set it up as a self host thing so far (connecting to it via 127.0.0.1) and it seems to function as intended. Honestly the entire process has been a really fun learning experience so far, but I digress. Self hosting it is all fine and good, but I'm wondering how I would be able to host it so that other people could access it? And/or lock it down so only a select few people could access it and post on it? So pretty much how to setup a web hosting server for it, be it on my current machine, a virtualized machine, a separate machine running a specific OS, or a third party. Thanks for any help!
  9. I'm fairly convinced this is a phone issue, but I haven't been able to extensively test it yet, which is why I'm putting it in this section. The other day I was trying to port forward, but the long and short of it, is I had to factory reset my router (ASUS ROG GT-AC-2900) because I couldn't remember the login info. When setting up my router again, I set both wireless bands as exactly they were before the reset, so same SSID's and passwords, in the hopes I wouldn't have to reconnect all of my devices. This kinda worked, but I ran into an issue with my Note 20. At first, the Note was just having a hard time connecting. It would try to connect, and then an error would pop-up saying it couldn't connect. I tried forgetting the network and reconnecting, and that didn't work. Power cycling my router however, worked, and my Note was able to connect. The next day, I left for work, and then when I got back home, the Note was having a hard time connecting again. Power cycling the router helped again. In an effort to solve this, I reset all network settings on my phone, and even changed the SSID's and passwords on my Wi-Fi. That still didn't help. Further more, a couple of friends who were over at some point, running phones on Android 10 and Android 11, also had some issues connecting. However, this was before the SSID change. It seems specifically this issue is only happening on Android, or even more specifically, Samsung phones. I haven't experienced the issue on my laptop, my desktop and streaming devices are all run off of ethernet and have seemingly been fine, and an iPhone that I have around for work has no problem connecting and reconnecting. I haven't tried any other troubleshooting steps on my Note, because I'm not sure where to go from here. I even tried rolling back the firmware on the router, to no avail. So, thanks for any help and insight. It's going to be insane if I have to turn my router on and off again any time someone with a Samsung wants to connect to it.
  10. I recently got an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (2019), and was wanting to do an evaluation of my options with PLEX on it. I'm trying to get as good of an experience as possible, mostly watching 4K BluRays off of PLEX, and I'm presented with several options. My gaming PC acts as a server and the Shield as a client to stream off of. I tried it and it worked alright. I have an ethernet connection on both my PC and the Shield, so I don't think anything is limited in that regard. I live alone, and will just primarily watch stuff from PLEX on just the TV with the Shield hooked up to it, and I don't need to worry about resources being taken up on my PC when the PLEX server is running. This is what my setup currently is. Almost the exact same setup as above, but getting PLEX Pass in order to pass off some of the processing to my PC. If I'm understanding it right, would that help even out some of the stutters on the stream to the Shield? My PC is pretty beefy, so it can no doubt handle it. Running the Shield as both a PLEX client and server. This would require the purchase of an external hard drive to attach to the Shield (the 2019 Shield models only come with like 16GB of storage). Would that provide the smoothest experience? As I assume, anything being played from PLEX on the Shield at that point, it would essentially be native playback? If I'm at the point of getting an external drive for my Shield, and I only really plan on watching from PLEX on the TV the Shield is connected to, should I just cut out PLEX altogether and just load the video files on the external drive connected to the Shield and play off of like VLC or some other media player? So those are the options I'm kind of looking at. Also as an aside, should I use the audio passthrough function? The TV for watching stuff from PLEX has a simple audio setup of a soundbar connected via HDMI ARC to the TV for audio. Thank you for any help/advice/guidance. (I thought this would be the appropriate area in the forum to post this in, if not, sorry, please move it to the respective area)
  11. I'm looking to pull the trigger on a fairly budget/modest home theater setup. I live in an apartment for another 3 months, before moving to a rental house when my current lease is up. All of this is to say, that the one issue I'm having with this theater setup, is the center speaker placement in relation to how the TV sits. The TV currently sits on its feet from the factory, on top of my media center. It's only a couple of inches off of the top. So, if I want to get speakers, I need to come up with a solution to get the TV higher up so that the center speaker doesn't block a significant portion of the bottom part of the TV. I'd like to ideally avoid wall-mounting, as my apartment complex is actually ok with holes in the wall, but it doesn't seem worth it when I'm moving out relatively soon, and there's no guarantee whatever rental I end up in next year will allow things mounted to the wall. So any suggestions on what to do for this? In case it helps, it's a 65-inch TV. Thanks for any suggestions or help.
  12. I can try a different system, later when I get home. How would I go about trimming the drive? I know how to do it on my Samsung SATA SSDs, but I'm not sure about this portable one.
  13. Pretty much title, been using the T5 SSD to film videos, when doing a file transfer today, the Read/Write speeds suddenly dropped, and I can't get them to recover. CrystalDisk shows 99% health, I don't think there are any errors. I've gotten 400-500 MB/s out of this SSD before. Does anyone know what could be going on? Thanks for any help.
