Seems that with every custom build I do, I have to reinstall Windows at least once for it to work as expected.

    I always make system images of my installs so if I have to reinstall I can just mount the system image and suddenly I have everything still.

    I do that too, but sometimes an install from MSDN media is what it takes

    Yeah I just hate restoring backups cuz then all the shit I never used is still there so it's always helpful.
