  1. Thanks for your response :). I think I'll wait and see what black friday/ cyber monday holds.
  2. Hi There, I've just noticed a cheap 7740x on the OverclockersUK website here (£188.99 or $250) however I'm aware that motherboards for X299 are still pretty expensive. The 7700k sells for around £278 ($367 US) here in the UK on Amazon. Basically is it worth buying the 7740x and paying extra for a X299 motherboard or should I go with a 7700k or an i5 and stick to 1151 motherboards. Thanks in advance Edit: Other sites seem to be selling the 7740x for around £100 more
  3. I've got a 4670K and a R9 280x. One thing i would mention is that if your GPU is thick it might not fit. I didn't realise and ended up having to chop the ram tabs in half so my GPU could fit. apart from that it's a really solid motherboard IMO. (I have a Saphire tri-x card)
  4. To be honest it's hard to say what's wrong without being there. Is there anyone you know who's good with computers near you who could help?
  5. hmm. Have you tried clearing the CMOS to reset the BIOS ?
  6. looks ok to me from what i can see. do the gpu fans spin when you turn it on? Edit: Yes it does seem odd to me. It looks like the GPU light is on too from the picture. is that right?
  7. Could you take a picture of the inside of your PC?
  8. Yeah looks good. What about drives? i'd recommend an SSD for boot drive and a Hard drive for mass storage.
  9. hmmm based on what you've said i'd say maybe the PC is not booting properly . Obviously I'm not an expert so maybe someone else could shed some light?. Have you built a pc before? Are you following a guide / how have you built it?
  10. Have you tried taking the GPU out and seeing if it works with just on-board graphics. so without GPU installed?
  11. well it depends what it's for......
  12. Sorry by cable i mean display cable
  13. So like the other people said. Is your Cable plugged into the GPU or the Motherboard? What video cable is it?
  14. So does the PC work ? Or does the pc work but does not detect the Monitor. I am slightly confused by what you just wrote.
  15. I'm no benchmarking or OC expert but that seems like a pretty good methodology to me haha. Lets wait and see what the experts say huh.
