  1. So, I replaced the PSU and it still doesn't power on. It powers on when I unplugged my GPU from the PSU AND connect the GPU to the PCI-E slot, but when I connect the GPU to the PSU it doesn't. Any suggestions to "reset" by GPU or anything else.
  2. Update: I got my PC to boot after removing the GPU from the motherboard. Don't know if is the PCI-E slot is dead, GPU is dead, or the PSU is dead or dying. It is the oldest part of the system, over 7 years old now. The PSU is still a good PSU it's an XFX pro 750W that is 80+ gold rated. Will continue to debug although I don't have a spare PCI-E card to use.
  3. I don't have access to the circuit breakers for my unit. Unfortunately, I don't have another PSU to try. I have to wait until Thursday until the closest computer store opens. Man this sucks, can't play video games on New Years/New Decade.
  4. Yes, my entire battlestation is all connected to a surge protector. It didn't trip when I got back.
  5. So my computer decided to turn off during the winter break and went I came back to see what was wrong with it I couldn't get it to start. The motherboard (ASUS Strix X-370-I) is getting power but when I press the power button nothing happens. I tried shorting the system connector and that didn't work. I refitted the RAM DIMMS to different spots, tried only one and that didn't work. I tried to see if the PSU was working by shorting pins 4 and 5 and saw the PSU's fan spin. I tried reconnecting all the power connectors and that didn't work. The only thing that is left is the motherboard/CPU. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  6. Nope, the new bios is on an usb stick. Nothing is being downloaded over the internet.
  7. So I'm trying to update the BIOS on my MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic motherboard using the built in software in the motherboard BIOS named M-flash. Note: I did NOT update he BIOS using the Windows update software. I just built the computer, boot into the bios and tried to update the BIOS using the built in updater. As of this posting the flash progress is stuck at 47% for the past 30-35 minutes. I did not shutdown the computer and just left it to solve the problem by itself but it's not going anywhere. Any solutions? Thanks.
  8. I'm looking for a decent FreeNas build that can handle a decent (3-4 plugins, maybe more) amount of plugins. Data integrity is imperative as the NAS will be holding backups and snapshots of all of my main systems as well as all personal and work files. That's why I choose FreeNAS as it is free and it uses ZFS as the file system for storage. My budget is about 600-800 CAD dollars without the drives in which I'll be using either 3x 3TB or 3X 4TB WD Red NAS drives. Because I live in the shitty economy of Canada i had to increase the budget much higher to the limit I said before. Normally I would set the budget to 500 Canadian dollars, but because our economy is crap, I bit the bullet and set the budget higher. I also want all builds in Canadian dollars, preferably from Canadian retailers. So that's basically it, any new suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  9. So I am having problems with my CM Storm Trigger that I bought 2 years ago. Occasionally my keyboard will disconnect from the computer and give me a warning that there isn't enough power to operate the USB device. However, when I plug the keyboard into a USB 3.0 port it still had the same problem. My guess is that the USB port on my keyboard is worn out as I replace the USB cable and it still have the same problem. Anyone have any ideas on fixing this problem? Thanks.
  10. Wouldn't it be nice if Linus and the crew made the "Ultimate Battlestation Setup Guide".
  11. Found the problem, apperently the RAT 7 sensor doesn't really like my soft black mouse pad and I did some expariment using a white piece of paper on top of my mouse pad and it works really well. So far I don't have any problems with my mouse sensor yet.
  12. /r/X99 masterrace Will be using the processor for protein folding and Command: Modern Air Naval Operations.
  13. Yes, I'm using Windows 8.1 however I never had the same problem with other opitical and laser mice.
