  1. I'm aware of the bottleneck. Thanks for the reply
  2. Currently I'm running on an old 550W OCZ550FTY power supply. Should I get a new power supply or is the OCZ550FTY good enough for the GTX 1060? My Specs: MOBO: MSI P55-GD65 CPU: i5 750 @ 3.8 Ghz RAM: 8GB (4 sticks) GPU: GTX 460 Storage: 1 SSD, and 1 HDD
  3. I've been watching your videos since 2009. Congrats to you and your team for 1 Million Subscribers.
  4. I have to disagree with this statement "you choose a power supply that's a good 300W higher than you need?" if I went with 550W the PSU would run @ 80% load which gives me no headroom whatsoever where you should always aim for 65% because most PSUs perform best at this load. Also do not forget about electrolytic capacitor aging. I looked into G2 and it's a good PSU but why would I want to get a cheaper PSU where I am not over the budget, and the SeaSonic is a superior PSU with Platinum rating.
  5. Sabertooth is ugly, and Hero is only like $20 more expensive than Ranger.
  6. I am not a fan of CrossFire / SLI because I never saw enough of a performance gain to justify the added power draw and heat output. So that is why I prefer to wait and get a single newer and slightly better in performance GPU than two older ones. I already decided to go with NVIDIA because of G-SYNC and ShadowPlay which in my mind is a better product than Game DVR from AMD. I don't mind the wait, and I am not going to buy anything until the GPU will be available on sale which from what I've heard is going to be in October. Do I need Max7Hero?: No not really, what other mobo would you recommend from Asus then?
  7. Hi, I am building a new Gaming Rig in the next 2 or 3 months and I am looking for some feedback. Budget: $2200 - $2300 Here is what I came up with so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/y9QFbv GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880 - $450 / $500 Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe - $160
  8. My favorite thing about the ASUS G550JK is that it was on the top of the mountain.
  9. That's still too high for me, my ambient temps can go up to 32C. So I rather buy GTX that runs at 46 idling and 60 at load. Update: It's not just me having problems with the AMD cards overheating.
  10. This is my planned build btw: [CPU]: Intel Core i7-4790K Haswell 4.0GHz LGA 1150 - $339.99 [CPU COOLER]: Noctua NH-D15 - $99.99 [MOBO]: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 - $219.99 [GFX]: Asus Matrix GTX 780 Ti Platinum ~$800 [RAM]: G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 - $189.99 [HDD]: WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s - $79.99 [sSD]: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB - $193.99 [PSU]: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital - $219.99 [CASE]: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (PH-ES614P_BK) - $99.99 [OS]: Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - Free from DreamSpark
  11. I will never again buy an AMD card. Had two different ones both started too overheat after two years even with good cooling and cleaning. Finally I had to RMA because I had artifacts, their inability to configure fan controller properly drives me crazy. I rather have my cool GTX
  12. Good point, the ROG will cost around ~$800, and the GTX 800 series will be cheaper than the GTX 700 series which is around $700.
  13. Is it worth too wait for the GTX 880, rumors say that the 880 series will be more efficient. But can entry-level 880 beat 780ti in performance by much?
