Hi everyone,
My old PC is finally kicking the bucket so I'm looking for something new. I'm not the biggest gamer and I just want a good stable build for day to day work and a Plex media server.
I decided to go with AMD Ryzen 5 (3600) and as such I've settled on the Asus PRIME B450-PLUS motherboard.
From what I looked into, I'll need a gen 2 processor to update the bios before I can use the 3600. Doable. Not fun but at least I found out in advance so I don't go mad on my first day.
What I need your help and opinion with, is the RAM.
I decided to go with Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit.
The motherboard says it's compatible up to 3200MHz RAM but as an OC. (Asus B450 specs for RAM >>>> 3200(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz)
Will I be able to boot with the RAM sticks on the first run or do I need to borrow a lower frequency stick from someone, do some Bios configuration and then add my 3000 RAM?
I would really appreciate your input on this so I know how to manage my expectations and organize my build.
Thank you in advance!
