  1. Alright thanks alot to both of you @mluton and @Master Disaster. I switched port on my router as Master asked me to resetted it then entered the static IP you gave me and it's now working like a charm. I can't thank you enough for your help !
  2. sure i'm actually on the wifi from the same router answering to you. So this is what i get from the laptop connection : sorry my laptop is setup in french and the resolution is much lower than on my tower. The static Ip i use is the one the router had previously set for the computer (when everything was working fine)
  3. It isn't straight through cable it comes from an adptator on a generic electrical plug. I checked with another one and i get the same thing. I tried these 2 configurations :
  4. Ok thanks i'll try to check my router then get back to you.
  5. I already tried to change it so it automatically gets an IP and DNS and nothing changes. How can i check if my ethernet port is the problem ?
  6. Good evening everyone, I'm facing a problem i can't seem to solve by myself that's why i decided to ask for your help. Apparently I can't seem to connect to the internet. I always get the "Ethernet doesn't have a valid Ip configuration" error whenever i let windows troubleshoot the problem. I'm currently using windows 10 and my ethernet adaptator is an intel ethernet connection I217-V. First, I tried uninstalling my ethernet drivers and instaling the lastest ones again, then I tried restarting my computer, restarting my router, fixing the IP adress by deactivating the DHCP automatic connection and putting the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 into the DNS selection but nothing seem to work. I also tried going in CMD and inputing ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew but this doesn't do anything either ! Meanwhile if i let DHCP on i get attributed a 169.254.x.x ip adress. Finally, I tried to switch ethernet cable and also tried switching devolo but it doesn't do the trick either. I'm now left clueless of what could be causing the problem.
  7. The mouse pad looks stunning and would go so well on my glass desk ! The rest is just bonus
  8. Congratz on the 1 million subscribers. Linus media group has been an entire part of my daily life since the day i first decided to build my own computer your the best to keep me up to date with the last trends in technology. If i had to choose my favourite video it would surely be one of the WAN shows since i'm always giggling to myself when i watch them . Hope your still as succesfull in the future. Fairy
  9. i didn't buy a DVD reader so installing from the disk is not possible. For the motherboard there are already 62 files to choose from, i'm lost already Thanks everyone for the quick answers
  10. Hello ladies and gentleman, So i build a computer from scratch for the first time a week or so ago. After waiting for my new monitor to arrive i entered the bios and installed my OS (Windows 8.1). Now my plan was to install the drivers that i needed before installing any programs what so ever. But here is the trick i have no idea what driver to install, there are either too many of them and i don't know which one to choose or i can't find any. So if you could help me with what driver i need to install to ensure a fast and reliable use of my computer that would be awesome. Sorry for the trouble a beginner like me can cause but help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the computer parts that i bought : - Asus maximus gene VI - Intel i5 4670k 3,4GHz - 8g corsair vengeance 1866 - Samsung evo 250 Go - Seagate barracuda 2To - Asus R9 280x Direct CU II top - H100i - Corsair cs650M -LG 23MP65 I've also heard that i should run some programs to test if my system is stable before and after overclocking it. which one should i run ?
  11. going with the maximus VII gene and RM650, whatever if i upgrade i'll check for a new psu. RM is fully modular so i might get myself a present and buy red sleaved cables
  12. Alright good to know, Thans again for your opinion and i shall provide you with some pictures when the build is done and running, might have to wait a while until 4690k arrives but i'm not in a hurry.
  13. @The Slimy Pig The thing is i do plan to SLI later on the way so the psu is there so i don't have to buy another one, same thing with the mother board it allows me to SLI later aswell as doing a bit of overclocking. @Gachr yeah the red and black look is what sold me on the card aswell as the positive review it got about overclocking and overall performance, I also agree that the wattage might be overkill but future SLI is a posibility and i don't really want to buy another psu just for that.
  14. Hey guys, After all our great input, here is what i've settled on and i would like your opinion on it, it might be a bit on the high end of my budget but i feel it's what will suit my needs the most. - Intel core i5 4690k - that i shall preorder - Asus maximus VII gene - 8g of ddr3 Corsair vengeance - Corsair h100i hydro series - Asus GTX 770 - Samsung 840 evo series - 120 Go - Seagate barracuda 1 To - Corsair obsidian 350D - Corsair CX750M Still not sure about the power supply, i'd love to get the AX760 but it's increasing my budget by 100€ which i've already increased.
