  1. Hey guys and galls , i've just orderd a 8700K here in belgium , and i'm reading mixed reports where overclocking is concerned, some say it OC's like a champ , some like a chump ... what do you think is reasonable to expect with a h100i ( the OG H100i ), both temps and clocks wise ? i also ordered the z370 gaming pro carbon from msi. Cheers !
  2. so i've built the machine, i'm having no trouble with my steam library whatsoever , however there is a little snag , i cant really install any games or programs on the shares do you perhaps know of a way ?
  3. well that is what i call a nice setup well i'm probably going to go with my spare parts pc/nas then and add in some nics in the near future , thanks a lot for the input
  4. yeah , i saw linus's video on that , interesting thought
  5. one more question , i've got some spare parts laying around ( pentium g2360 , 8gb ram stick , h97 board, my old psu (1000w which would be overkill but cant hurt ) ) , this could make for a quite capable nas build right , and power consumption should also be sub 200w if i do some quick napkin math if i were to set up windows server or even just windows and share the harddrives , that would make my plan a little easier right ?
  6. thanks a lot , i'll look into setting up a VHD
  7. hey guys and galls , so i've been spending my free time and spare cash making my pc near silent , and all in all I've reached the point where my mechanical hard drives are the only thing bugging me sound wise, i was thinking to put my general storage drives ( 2x wd black 3TB and 2x seagate baracuda 2TB in a nas ) the bulk of the files are movies , images, an EXTENSIVE steam library,.... ( so nothing major --> most of the important stuff is on the ssd) can these drives be plugged into something like a Qnap TS-431 or Synology nas ? (yes i do know there are specific nas harddrives out there , and i plan on upgrading on the long term) If i redirect steam to the new network path it should be fine right ? and i guess gigabit speeds should be "OK" for the steam libraty so what do you guys think ? any major gaps in my reasoning ?
  8. GTA V , Project cars , The witcher 3: wild hunt and last but not least Dragon age inquisition
  9. check in the bios first , and you can also look under the administrative tools / computer management / disk management --> if it's a new hdd , it's possible that it needs to be initialised or formatted
  10. if your board supports it, i don't see any problem with installing 16gbs of ram (on most atx size boards you should be fine if you want more than 2 sticks for whatever reason e.g. 4 x 4 gbs) http://ark.intel.com/nl/products/53445/Intel-Core-i5-2310-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz According to the ark the max supported ram is 32 gbs
  11. i thought this might be a cool super weapon in the next channel superfun nerf battle what do you guys think
  12. is the gpu dusty ? if so try cleaning it .... and try a program like msi-afterburner here you can see if there is 100% utilization or not
  13. i fixed it , i used to install the mod via NMM, now i did a manual install and it works thanks for the help though
  14. i haven't altered any .ini's SKSE worked previously , it's just been acting up since i installed SkyUI
