  1. Thanks for the very useful replies! I'm aware the case is on the large side, but so was my previous one, and I enjoy the aesthetics of a case this size Haven't decided completely on the motherboard yet, I did see that the 7000D has 2 USB connectors with 2 ports each, and the z690 aorus elite only has one of those connectors, so I would presumably only be able to use 2 of the 4 usb ports in the front. Would this be an issue for me? Extremely likely not, but it just feels like an annoying small unfinished thing lol. Probably not worth spending a bunch on a larger motherboard for just this
  2. Hey guys, After building my last pc 7 years ago, I'm looking into building a new one from scratch again. I have been playing around with different setups on pcpartpicker, and I encountered an issue here. After selecting the `Gigabyte Z690 AORUS MASTER EATX LGA1700 Motherboard`, it doesn't allow me to select the `Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX Full Tower Case`, because of incompatibility. Cases like 4000D and 5000D still show up in the picker as available options. The error message given is `Warning!Gigabyte Z690 AORUS MASTER EATX LGA1700 Motherboard and Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX Full Tower Case are not compatible.`. I've been looking for a while, but I can't figure out why these would be incompatible. Does anyone here know why this build doesn't work, or is this a false alarm by pcpartpicker? Reproduction list with error here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/krwjPV
  3. I would rather go with an 250gb SSD. You will find yourself pretty fast at the 120gb point after installing windows/a couple of games/some software. In my opinion it is definately worth the price to install all programs on the ssd. EDIT: If you plan to do SLI later on, as your mobo name suggests, i would go with an 750w power supply to be safe. Otherwise you might have to upgrade your PSU when you want to do SLI.
  4. Thanks @d3sl91! A Z97 board is indeed a good option. I will replace the Z87-G45 with a Z97 Gaming 5. The only advantage the Z87-G45 has over the Z97 is that it has the Lucid virtuMVP software with it, but as that isn't really stable right now it isn't that big of an advantage. The advantages of the Z97 include support for 5th gen Intel chips, (a little) better audio and the overall power usage and benchmarks seem better to me. I will be upgrading to the h100i in one, max 2 months. During that time I should be able to keep the heat under control.
  5. I will definately be overclocking in the near future, but my focus is not on video editing, it's more of a side thingy. Also with this setup I'm close to my max budget so an i7 is not really an option right now. Thanks for your reaction !
  6. Hey guys, So I've made this build (partly copied from a friend) and would like some feedback or advice on it. I want to be able to game, but I also want to be able to do some editing, hence the 16GB RAM. In the future (~1-2 years) I will probably upgrade to SLI, the 750W should be enough (expecting ~600W while gaming with SLI). But as I said, this is in the future, so no high priorities there. Oh and by the way, in the near future i will be overclocking. Before i do that i will also add the Corsair Hydro Series H100i to my build. Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 16GB DDR3-1600 CL10 kit GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce V2 3GB CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K (maybe i5 4690k, depends on availability when i buy it this month) Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 (changed from MSI Z87-G45 Gaming) SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB PSU: Seasonic X-Series 750W V2 This adds up to a total of ~€1400 Thanks in advance! Gerdinand EDIT: With this build I'm close to my max budget.
