  1. hmmm... ill try but that explain bios not updating from usb after clearly verifying correctly
  2. i cant install windows i cant even update the bios. it boots to the gigabyte logo and lets me go into bios even select the drive to boot from but when it comes to actually booting from it it just keeps rebooting to the gigabyte logo
  3. doesnt want to. q-flash starts lets us select f4d from the usb stick und loads fully then says "ready to reboot" but after reboot its still at f3
  4. so we are able to go to bios. so its just that theres no boot device so it reboots but it doesnt seem to want to boot from usb, it shows the usb in boot menu but doesnt boot into windows setup
  5. so a collegue of mine just build a system and it keeps restarting the gigabyte logo flashes but nothing more then it restarts Ryzen 7700x gigabyte a620 ax gskill 32gb 6000Mhz ek 240 aio samsung 990 pro
  6. yeah but why would need to make the heatpipes a mm wider oder the fins denser. no manufacturer releases a new entirely seperate product with the only difference being 2 more fins on the cooler unless there was some sort of critical flaw with the original. like vw is not gonna release a golf gti e just because a bracket inside the engine compartment needed to be 2cm wider. you know what i mean.
  7. since im trying to get the price down, not up, its not an option anyway
  8. well my assumption was since they went trough the hassle of making a completly seperate product instead of a rev 2.0 or something that there must have been some critical flaw with the original that they had to fix, hence releasing a fixed version 6 months later. but i cant figure out what change would take 12g and literally no other change in specs. not a single millimeter in measurements for example.
  9. so i noticed there 2 different versions of the the 2x ventus. the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 2X and the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 2X E which released about 6 months later. but i just cant find out anywhere what actually changed. except that the new one is 12g heavier does anyone know?
  10. honestly the options for triple fan 4070s dont look good to me budget wise should i consider dual fan options?
  11. im in germany and ppp doesnt really give the cheapest prizes here so im using geizhals.de (a german site) heres the temporary list if youre interested. https://geizhals.de/wishlists/3397152 i might change the gpu to a different brand based on your recommendation and possible strike the psu completly off the list if i can use the sf600 i have (id probably sell it to him for like 70 bucks so he would save an even 100€)
  12. i get that but even a 13600 non-k plus board are 100€ more than the amd alternative and that seems to be the case with every (im sure justified) reccomendation. and if i pick the slightly better cpu and the slightly better gpu and the slightly better psu and and and then i end up closer to 2k then the 1,5k max i was given
  13. well the plan would be the gigabyte 4070 (just cause its the cheapest triple fan model from a brand i recognize) and a ryzen 5 7600 (cause everyone seem to recommend that right now) well again, its a 2016 Corsair SF600...modern enough?
  14. thats an 800 € card and a totally different budget. im not trying to get oc out of it. im trying to build the best read to use / no support calls system for the teenage son of a collegue
  15. if i checked it right it seems to be 2016 but i hasnt seen use for a couple of years now spikes? @filpo mentioned it wasnt a problem with 40 series anymore? https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD/sp#sp
  16. well to be honest im trying to cut cost a bit on the psu or even thinking about recycling an old corsair sf600 i still have lying around
  17. well those are both atx3 so that feels like conflicting information to me, no? also 1000W for 70 card with "200W" on the spec sheet?
  18. so ive noticed that some 4070 models have the 16pin pcie5 connector and some have a single 8pin old style connector. i know about the adapters but now im wondering how neccessary is the atx3 standard because if gigabyte makes a 4070 with an 8 pin that cant talk to the psu then do i need an atx3 psu at all. i remember something about power spikes but again the fact that they offer both variants confuses me.
  19. ok... idk if you skipped the part about non-AAA gaming but the thing for me is stability. what i would do myself and what i would get for other people are two different things. i dont want to have to support this system too much and hear about driver issues and the sort later. and from what ive experienced with amd in the past and from what i hear about amd now its not as stabile as nvidia. https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/4413vs4898vs4795vs4919vs4917/GeForce-RTX-3070-Ti-vs-GeForce-RTX-4060-Ti-16GB-vs-GeForce-RTX-4070-vs-Radeon-RX-7700-XT-vs-Radeon-RX-7800-XT
  20. so since i dont want complains about drivers and glitches i tend to lean towards nvidia and right now im looking at benchmarks between the 3070 Ti (~500€) , the 4060 Ti 16GB (~500€) and the 4070 (~650€). any thoughts on why one may be better than the other in terms of supported technologies maybe or something? https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/4413vs4898vs4795/GeForce-RTX-3070-Ti-vs-GeForce-RTX-4060-Ti-16GB-vs-GeForce-RTX-4070
  21. Budget (including currency): 1000€-1500€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: non-AAA gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): so a collegue just asked me to spec a system for his son and ive not been paying attention to the market for a while so i thought id get your opinions. 7th gen amd cpu? 32 gigs of ram? nvidia something or another? my thought was to build a somewhat compact system with an aio a beefy gpu and then splurge on some noctuas since apparently silence is big factor. also wifi was requested.
  22. so here the annoying bit: i have multiple chrome windows open spread out over multiple virtual desktops in windows. when i shut down the system and start it back up and start chrome, it restore all windows that were open when i shut down. so far so good. but it then also focuses and jumps to the last desktop that contains chrome windows. so for example itll always jump to desktop 2 or 3 when i start chrome after a restart. soes anyone know a way to stop that? i would like to just stay on desktop 1.
