DeadlyTigerKingProductions's Achievements

  1. Would be great to have in college! With the dorms being so small it would make a great Wall TV for gaming and movies with your friends!
  2. So to provide more information, I plan on using the laptop for software that is not very demanding like Quickbooks and other accounting software. As for gaming capability I want to be able to play games like GTA V and Battlefield 4 on Medium settings anywhere from 30-60fps. I don't plan on any super serious gaming and if the integrated graphics, or a much smaller card in the laptop could afford me a better battery life or weight/thinness then I am willing to make that trade off. I will have an Xbox One with me for gaming as well so I can do most of my gaming on there. I also am considering waiting until the new graphics cards are released and some new possibly better laptops come out this summer.
  3. I am on the lookout for a new laptop for college. Anything in the $1000-$2000 price range works, so long that it is available in store or online from Best Buy. If not then the budget is knocked down to $1000. My most important features are: Great Battery Life, Thin and Light, Has a Numpad, 1080p not 4k Display, and Good Build Quality. This will be my primary workhorse for the next 4 years so I want it to be perfect, and to be built well. I will be taking accounting classes so the numpad is important. In this price range I would expect a somewhat decent graphics setup i.e. a GTX 970M, 965M, or 960M. I already have my eyes on the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro-002 for my 15.6" screen choice and the MSI GS70 Stealth Pro-006 for my 17" choice. The only problem I have with these are they they have poor battery lives and I don't want them to die on me in between classes. Other than that they seem great. It would be nice to know from someone with experience in college if that issue can be worked around or not. Thank you for your help!
  4. Do I need to pay the $70? I'm just looking to see if I need to purchase a new copy of Windows or if I can just move it over.
  5. Okay, my apologies for that. Could you send the link for a program like that?
  6. I thought about that but can I move just the os over instead of everything because the hard drive that the os is currently on is 1.5 terabytes and the ssd is only 240gb?
  7. Hi, I am upgrading my HP Pavilion Elite Hpe 510Y with a new ssd as a boot drive since the boot times are terrible. Bad news is they did not give us a windows 7 install disc or key when buying the pc 5 years ago. Is there a way for me to pull the windows 7 that is currently on the hard drive and put it on the ssd without needing to buy a new copy of windows 7? Also will it say I have an incorrect key or that it is null and void? Please Help!
  8. Thank you all for your help! I think I am going to go with the 750 ti and an 128gb ssd.
  9. Hello everybody, I am in dire need of some help. I normally play an Xbox 360/One and I have been wanting to get back to my PC gaming but my store bought rig is graphically under powered so I need some help on what to buy and what to do. It is a Best Buy HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510y with a discrete AMD Radeon HD6750. I want to do a graphics card upgrade, and purchase an SSD for a boot drive to make Windows 7 load up much faster. I understand that the graphics card upgrade may also mean a new power supply as well and if it is needed I am willing to get a new PSU as well. So please help me and tell me what to do. Gaming Capability: Reaching 60fps at medium settings on Battlefield 4 would be awesome. If that won't work then I can handle 30fps on medium settings. EDIT: Sorry forgot to include a budget. If I have to buy a new PSU then my budget for a GPU, SSD, and PSU would be: $200-$350 If I don't have to buy a new PSU then my budget for a GPU, and SSD would be: $200-$300 Prices are flexible so feel free if there is a good deal that is a bit over to include it. Thank you! Specs:
  10. I am however keeping the idea of a powerful media pc that play the same specifications as my requirements listed above. If someone can find that performance for much cheaper than $600 ish dollars then let me know! I would need to have wiggle room to buy a monitor and peripherals. In a best case scenario $400-$600 for the pc itself and $200 max for peripherals would be amazing.
  11. I am well aware of this, trust me on that. I understand the cheapness of building a custom rig but the versatility of a laptop is the thing that I am looking for. As I said in my original post, I move around in my house a lot and I don't want to be confined to a certain area. But thank you for your opinion.
  12. Holy cow that's a great deal for the money! Do you think the discount will last until December or so?
  13. Hey guys, about a year ago I made the transition from console gaming on the Xbox 360 to our household desktop PC. It was okay for a while but after we got the Xbox One I found myself not getting on PC gaming for many months. I would love to come back but I would require a laptop as I am always somewhere random in the house. I also want something that I can hook up my Elgato to without occasional stuttering like it does on the current family laptop. As the subject line states I am looking to buy a laptop in the $500-$800 range for gaming and Xbox game capture. Something that can run Battlefield 4 at 60 fps on medium would be awesome! Sorry for the extremely long post but I did not know how else to describe my situation. Thank you for reading and I hope that someone can find a good choice for me as I have no idea! EDIT: Also the minimum requirements listed for my Elgato is a full usable 4 gigabytes of ram, my laptop is advertised as 4 but has 3.76 gigs usable.
