  1. So I got an retired server from my last job (they were gonna recycle it) and I'm trying to get into sys admin and server management type work so I'd like to get it up and running to tinker with it. So here's what I know: -It's dual socket, but both of the CPUs were removed. A list of supported CPUs are in this link (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c00712808) , I'd like to get the go faster stuff like the Xeon x5470s but I'm not sure how if that's going to work. Given the current VRMs (which are removable as far as I can see) The heatsinks say this particular model came with 2.83ghz Processors -It has an LSI raid controller with battery that id like to use. Are regular SATA drives compatible with this: LSI 62098C2 -It has horribly outdated ATI graphics which I'm sure aren't going to run any sort of GUI. It also has a PCIe riser. Would a regular GPU work for this assuming I would be able to make PCIe power connectors with the PSU Anyone with the Knowledge to get me on my way would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  2. Hello forum, I come to you in a time of great need. I bought an Alienware M17 R4 to do some light gaming and some work related stuff. When I bought it the seller told me that the screen was messed up. I replaced the screen and screen cable but the issue (https://youtu.be/TQjuizGmnzc) is still present. Issue is even present when booting PC into the BIOS. If anyone here has had experience with AW laptops and know what wrong and could point me in the right direction that would be awesome. PS the laptop works fine when plugged into external monitors.
  3. Hello, I'm looking to find someone to help me with finding some information because I can't find it on the web. Can someone with a i7 3770k at stock frequency post a benchmark score with 2 cores + HT and 2 cores without HT.
  4. Been around since about 2012 and I have to say, that this channel alone has taught me so much more about computers and other tech than any other tech channel I know. Keep it going and have fun (because isn't that what YouTube is all about)
  5. My first phone was an Xperia Play still works to this day, I really wish I had another Xperia Phone. I like the fast that is is water proof
  6. I like the white case thanks for the help
  7. I have 120$ I need a case and a motherboard that supports the fx 8320 (If possible something that can overclock a bit) I have the rest of my componants as follows Thermaltake TR2 RX 550w 8gb Corsair Vengance RAM XFX R7 260X also nothing with super flashing lights or stupid loud fans
  8. Lol you sound like me, I'm playing on a dinosaur monitor and it only goes up to 1280x1024 I just bought it because it looked cool (dumb reason to buy a computer part)
  9. Feel like I'm beating the dead horse but should have gotten the 2gb version, it kicks ass
  10. I suppose I should let you guys know I am using this on a XFX R7 260X
  11. Thanks for the quick response guys, so it's safe to assume if I use a Molex to PCIe (I have nothing in my computer that uses Molex power) I should be fine?
  12. I was given a Theremaltake TR2 RX 550w from a friend, the sad thing is he lost the pcie cable that goes with it. Now I've search the internet with no avail to find a replacement cable. I have given up the search and have now been looking into molex to pcie or sata to pcie and I have found mix responses over these. I was hoping someone here could break down (in detail) if these adapters are safe and reliable to use for an extended period of time.
  13. So basically a MMS that can read a phone identity, lol
  14. So I gave my old phone to a friend, and he said that the phone randomly sends messages to people on his contacts list (pretty vulger messages at that) and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it. How would someone do that. Explanation 1 Someone Cloned the SIM Very unlikely considering that the only people to have the phone for more than an hour Explanation 2 AT&T somehow managed to activate a SIM with the same IMSI and KI which is HIGHLY unlikely
