  1. Isn't the point of DDoSing from a monetary point of view to poke at servers to see what kind of securities are set up in place? Whether it's stealth or a bombardments. Then after when they find a security loop hole, they can either ask for money or steal everyone's creditcard/personal info? Just wondering.
  2. Agreed. Sure, TSMC will be able to build 10nm, who can't? The real question is what is their yield? If they print 10nm wafers and half of them fail, no one would buy from them. Maybe Nvidia since it seems like they are in bed together. Heck even Apple is running from TSMC and going back to Samsung. You know if Apple is crawling back to Samsung, there's something very wrong with TSMC's 16nm yields.
  3. Not even surprised. That whole country is getting ready to internet stream live broadcast TV. They need uber data sorting.
  4. "According to industry sources on Nov. 6, the U.S. smartphone giant has decided to discontinue its use of triple-level cell (TLC) NAND, since the company believes that the functional defects plaguing the 64GB iPhone 6 and the 128GB iPhone 6+ stem from a problem in the controller IC of the TLC NAND flash. The controller IC in question is reportedly made by SSD maker Anobit, which was sold to Apple in 2011." Seems more like an in-house problem since Anobit is owned by Apple now, and they made their own controller for the flash drives.
  5. Nexus 5 got it? I thought that was AOSP ports, which is available for Samsung phones too.
  6. http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/8/7179867/lg-g3-android-lollipop-upgrade-release-date Original Source. LG G3 will be the first smartphone to get the Google Lollipop upgrade starting this week. Other then the new Nexus 6/9 which comes with Lollipop pre-installed, LG G3 will start rolling out Lollipop upgrades starting in Poland this week. That's what I call fast updates. Saw good reviews for G3 and this fast update wins them some extra brownie points.
  7. Yes, you are correct. Romania as a country jumped into the top 5 speeds in the world on Bloomberg recently, but their average speed comes in behind South Korea. The price index seems to take into account the GDP of the country as well. Romania's GDP is around 1/5th of South Korea. Meaning, an average person in Romania makes around $950 a month while an average person in South Korea makes around $3,000 a month (according to ILO's monthly wage). So technically, paying $30 in South Korea would be cheaper then paying $15 in Romania since there's more disposable income. Which is also why I think the U.S. made rankings this time. $70 for Google Fiber sounds like a lot, but the U.S. has the highest GDP, and one of the highest income wages.
  8. Well, that's quick. NVIDIA posted a video today about the new Android 5.0 OS update coming sometime this month. I purchased this tablet on release date, had the hairline crack issue, but was RMA'd right away. Awesome support. It should be one of the first non-Google/Motorola devices to receive the update and am happy with the fast update! Anyone else have a SHIELD Tablet?
  9. Why would I want something "close" to OLED or "like" OLED. Just mainstream OLED already.
  10. Yeah, not sure about S2, but I've been hearing that burn-in issues are disappearing for OLED panels every new generation. But, it should be fixed by the time OLED monitors/TVs hit affordable prices.
  11. I prefer the Droid Turbo and Nexus 6 charging techniques. 0-60% battery in 15minutes. I don't need a charger that charges my phone 40% faster, but I can think of situations where I need a quick 60% charge in less then 15minutes.
  12. ^ from shaw (local provider) But 50 mbps with 3 upload is like 80$ and 100 down with 5 up is 90$ on shaw... so I guess it's not too bad here. I think in Canada, Toronto actually had the most improvements compared to last year according to the research table.
  13. Yeah, Romania has really good internet performance and cost, but this research was conducted on 24 major cities in the world and only Bucharest Romania was included in the mobile sector. I think they also take into consideration population density/economic size or something when choosing the cities to research.
  14. What's ugly? You do realize that's a panel? It's up to the manufacturers to decide what they want to build around it.
