  1. 1440p and use it till it dies. Or look for some 4k deals if those pixels interest you. I had my Dell ultrasharp monitor for 5 years before I upgraded. Generally monitors can last for a decade plus. Get one you like and see yourself using for the long term.
  2. Currently I find only a few games benefit from using a TV as the display (currently I am using the Vizio M55-C2). Fifa and NBA2k16 are the only times I use the TV as the display. I have tired Civ 5, Bioshock and Borderlands 2 but found I liked playing those games on my BenQ BL3201PH monitor with headphones. Its just a more engaging experience over a TV. Honestly if I was gaming mainly on a TV I would get the Sony KDL55W800C. Its not 4k but still a better gaming TV (IMO).
  3. Since I only game for entertainment and not professionally I'm using the Benq BL3201PH.

    4k Monitor

YouTube has horrible 4k compression. I notice no difference over regular 1080p footage. Now for productivity 4k is worth it. Plus Gaming which you have the gpu to push it. Just played some NBA 2k16 in 4k and it was a big step up from 1440p.
  5. Colors are similar to that of any TN/IPS panel. The 4k add that sharpness you don't see on many 1080p/1440p displays. Editing on a 4k monitor is spectacular. The extra real estate really speeds up the process. Scaling is actually pretty good on windows 10. I have mine set at 125% and it works near perfect. Some apps and websites need enlarged as they have not upgraded to 4k. It has been a nice upgrade from a 5 year old 1440p display. The screen space is overwhelming at first but you get use to it. Yes save for ips. All the TN panels I looked at in person had varying color shifts. Especially when viewing at any angle. Gaming on a 4k monitor is amazing. Even at medium settings (currently only have 780 gpu) its a nice step up from 1440p. I'm not a huge gamer though. My monitor: BenQ 32 inch 4k (BL3201PH).
  6. 980Ti. Plus the prices are dropping. Newegg has the EVGA 980ti under $600 right now. That is after a mail in rebate.
  7. Asus mainly for the better build. Scaling in windows 10 is much improved.
  8. If your spending over $500 I say extend the warranty if cost is not to high. Then again most monitors over $500 come with a 3 year warranty.
  9. It appears the 1440p model is VA and is advertised as a 10 bit color depth panel. The 4K option is IPS also with a 10 bit color depth panel. The build quality is great though. Defiantly a more pro like monitor.
  10. I have the 4k equivalent of that monitor. Currently i'm running games at 1440p due to only have one GTX 780. Overall the quality is great for gaming. Its similar to all IPS 60hz refresh panel out there. With your GPU you can push just about anything within reason. If your looking for a 32 inch 1440p IPS display that covers 100% sRGB this is one of the best out there.
  11. You can get a EVGA 780 over in their B stock outlet under $200. Just check it often or subscribe to their auto notify. My 780 can handle most any games at 1440p. As for 4k it will barely play anything even at low settings.
  12. For video editing 4K makes a huge difference. The amount of stuff you can fit on the screen makes it a no brainier. Now if you game as much as video edit your going to need a $600+ dollar GPU.
  13. Would only get a blower style if its Nvidia's more industrial metal reference design.
