  1. I found you guys back in the day when I was looking for great quality videos on how to build a PC. Since then, I've worked on a couple computers and really love PC tech with a passion. I'd like to give a big shout out to "i_build_nanosuits" because on my first trip to the forum, he helped me pick out nearly a complete system for my personal computer. Which, by the way Nanosuits, the parts will be ordered tomorrow Thank you Linus for all the great videos and congrats on one million subs!
  2. Just recently saw the new posts on my topic even though I've already solved it... I don't mind spending 10 extra bucks for a water cooling unit instead of the EVO 212 but one thing you all who referenced Intel, I do agree that you pay for what you get... but I simply don't have the money to spend around $300 bucks for a i7. Which was on the original post... Guess people missed it. I was considering the i5 but sadly I'm willing to cut a little bit of a performance for cash. As far as overclocking. I do plan to overclock at least to 4.5ghz. Also another thing... people seemed to have disclosed all my other needs and simply jumped on "you need this for streaming." It is possible that Streaming might be the most taxing out of all my needs but I don't plan to be streaming for more than at MAX 3-4 hours. Maybe even less. I don't know currently. It would have been nice to see some "for map editing, you need this" or "for video rendering, you need this." But I've made my choice already... would love to have all this expensive Intel stuff but the problem doesn't change that I'm stretched for money, but the 8320 is the best all around CPU for what I need. And if I need extra frames or performance, that's why I'm getting a high end GPU. No it's not the best but again. Money. So thanks everyone for the help, but the choice has been made.
  3. Alrighty well, looks like everything is in order. Thank you so much for the help. I appreciate it! If I need any more help in the future, I'll be sure to check in with you!
  4. I appreciate the links, no offense to anyone else. You guys are helping me beyond what I could ask for. This is my "first" technical build with me looking for parts for my personal build. I've built computers for my friends but they already had the parts in hand. The CM Hyper 212 caught my eye when watching YouTuber's builds but I didn't know if it would handle well with overclocking. Which brings me to my next piece that has got me puzzled: the GPU. Basically I've boiled it down to a EVGA GTX 660 or 760. Obviously the 760 would be faster than the 660. But the question I have is if the extra $50 is worth it when comparing these two to my build. As far as my build right now, it's this: CPU: AMD 8320 or 8350 (still deciding) CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 or CM Seidon 120V (tough choice) Motherboard: 970 GPU: EVGA GTX 660 or 760 (still deciding) PSU: Corsair CX Series 500 Watt SSD: Kingston 120 GB HDD: 1TB WD Black RAM: HyperX 8gb 1600Mz As far as my case, I bought it a few months ago because it wouldn't stop going out of stock, so I bought it when I had the chance. Its an Enermax iVektor. CPU cooler fits and as long as it's a ATX board, it will fit. (which the one I picked out is)
  5. I plan on having a all-in-one liquid cooler. Probably from Cooler Master. As far as waiting, I have to sell some items in order to have money to buy all this stuff. So there honestly is no telling when I'd all these parts.
  6. To explain, I do... video game recording, video editing/rendering, plan on doing live streaming via Twitch, map compiling and editing for Team Fortress 2. So my question is, which processor on both AMD and Intel would be best for all of these tasks? Pretty much only thing limiting me is the price. I'm willing to buy a i5-4670k which at this time is $234.99 on Amazon. Basically what I hope to get out of this is a processor that (while recording/streaming) can hold steady at 60fps, and is quick on rendering. The CPU is probably my least researched topic when it comes to building computers because when I search around, all of the topics/things I find are back from 2012. I would like a more recent and up to date information. Extra thanks for telling me a great, but low price motherboard to go along with each processor!
