i could get a GTX 980ti MSI gaming for 480$CAD and i can sell my GTX 1080 windforce for 850$CAD easy right now...it's tempting i could pocket the money for a next gen card...or a VR upgrade...hummmm

    Well to be fair an overclocked 980Ti is less than 10% slower than an overclocked 1080 in games (that's what HW Unboxed got in their 980Ti revisit video) so you're looking at 10-15% slower card for almost half the price of your current one :P If that performance satisfies you at 1440p, I'd say go for it. The price difference is seriously real here!

     

    I know I am satisfied with the 1440p performance for the time being, I decided not to sell my 980Ti due to lack of upgrade path (besides a 1080Ti but it costs 2.5x more and I don't really need that much performance)
