  1. There doesn't seem to be many x58 matx boards on ebay =\ the ones that are listed are $200+ and ship from Hong Kong (long shipping times) I would prefer to have my parts in a timely manner, doing stuff on my laptop is beyond aggravating.
  2. Hello guys, thanks for all help in advance. So my PC decided that living was overrated and my motherboard went ahead and died on me last night. I have tested the graphics card and PSU on another PC and both are working fine. I'm not sure whether or not to buy another motherboard or to upgrade motherboard/CPU/RAM. The parts that need to be replaced are: Motherboard: EVGA x58 mATX SLI (dead) CPU: i7 920 (was overclocked to 3.8Ghz) RAM: Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz 8gb 9-9-9-24 1.65V (not sure if this is can be reused) Currently the parts that I would like to reuse are: Case: Obsidian 350D mATX PSU: Corsair 500M Graphics: PNY GTX 680 2GB Which leaves me needed a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I live in the US and have a budget of $500. Any guidance on what to do or which path to take would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Hello all, I'm looking for monitor recommendations for my brother and I. First off, we are both gamers and enjoy playing a variety of games. I am currently playing games like GW2, FFXIV, and Skyrim whereas my brother is playing CS:GO and Dota2. From my knowledge, I would be happier with and IPS panel while gaming at ~60 FPS whereas my brother wants to have a 144Hz/120 FPS setup (probably TN panel). Can anyone recommend monitors that would fit our specific needs, preferably each under $200 USD (Total Budget $400 USD) Edit: Yes we want different monitors, no we're not going to swap monitors >.>
  4. Thanks for the feedback guys, really appreciate it. My friend has also managed to scrape together another $200 that he wants to dedicate towards a new monitor. We were thinking about getting a 21-23 inch monitor preferably IPS. Any recommendations? Edit: Found this for sale on Newegg for about $140 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umvh6aa003
  5. I'm helping my friend builds his first gaming rig. His budget is about $800 but can be flexed a little bit. Main goal is to be able to play gw2 on high settings and a few next gen games. Here's a list of the parts, we are located in the US. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/37Ou2 For storage I have an extra WD 500 gb black lying around. If he had the money, he would like to upgrade to an ssd. He also said he didn't need an optical drive. He will never be overclocking any of his components because he doesn't feel comfortable doing so, and I wish to respect his decision. I was wondering if the after market cooler is necessary for this build and if any upgrading from IB to Haswell is worth the extra cost. Is there anything wrong with this build or upgrades that can be made? Thanks in advance.
