  1. Jaypro, no I haven't tried that but synapse completely ignores what I put in considering that I set the dpi levels all to about 2000dpi BetterThanTofu, Yes my Razer synapse is up to date. Update: I just uninstalled razer synapse 2.0 and rebooted my computer. Now my mouse is simply staying at 2000 dpi. So it looks like synapse was the problem. I would however like to try and fix synapse 2.0 because I may in the future want to change something on my mouse and having to install razer synapse again and then uninstall again is going to prove to be a pain. So I guess It's semi fixed. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix synapse? Thanks for all your help!
  2. So I recently bought a Razer Naga Epic (Wireless Mouse) to replace my old mionix mouse. I like it so far (really can't tell that it is wireless, input lag is really good) I use to have a mamba, and I missed the wireless because my mouse chord on my mionix would always get caught on my second monitor so I bought a Naga Epic. Here's the issue. When ever I boot up my PC ,the DPI settings on the mouse get ignored and the DPI changes to what feels like 5200 DPI, which is way too high for me (I usually have my mouse dpi set to 2000) and the only way I can get the mouse DPI to change is to go and try to open Razer Synapse 2.0 (which for whatever reason usually doesn't want to open) and then my DPI will go back to where I want it to and the buttons I programmed on the mouse will go back to performing the action I originally assigned to them (forward and back on mouse I changed to DPI up and down which don't work until I open Razer Synapse which usually will only open when I go to the system tray and double click it) I love the mouse ergonomics and function but this issue is driving me nuts. At one point I also had a razer ouroboros which suffered from this same issue, I decided I hated the mouse and returned it. Now I know that Razer Synapse is opening when windows 7 fully boots in because I see a window for Razer Synapse 2.0 pop up and then disappear. As far as I know, the only driver you need for the Naga is Razer Synapse 2.0. I've done some googling trying to find a solution to my issue but I can't seem to find one. Can anyone help me?
  3. Got it exchanged, of course the spacebar stops squeaking when I want it to squeak. The store clerk was saying he was going to charge me a 20% restocking fee which pissed me off but then he changed his mind. My new shine feels a little different (in a good way) and this one doesn't squeak or quack! Thanks for your input guys!
  4. So I just bought a ducky shine 2 (9087) with mx black switches and blue backlight and I love it! But after 2 days of use with gaming and Internet surfing my space bar began to make a very annoying squeak sound. The sound occurs when I press on the left side of the bar (where you would typically press when your fingers are on wasd). Ive tried reseating the bar to fix the problem and also tried putting an o ring from my g710+ under the bar but neither solution worked. The only way to make the sound not happen is by pressing on the right or direct middle portion of the bar, or by literally slamming and bottoming it out so fast it doesn't get the chance to squeak. I did some googling and found out that this is a common problem amongst keyboards that use Cherry stabilizers like ducky and filco. The common solution I've seen is to use a lube that doesn't eat away at the plastic on the stabilizer and the key cap. I don't want to try this however because after a while the lube will gunk up and cause more issues down the road (the stabilizer bar also runs under the plastic next to the pcb). I saw one post on a keyboard forum that said that he had this issue and it went away after a while, where others have said it didn't. I thought because Slick has had extensive experience with ducky keyboards that he may have a suggestion so I tweeted at him. However I just realized that was kinda dumb because he probably can't help in 140 characters or less LOL. I bought it from ncix so I'm guessing I should go and try to exchange it. If anyone has some suggestions or input it would be much appreciated! I absolutely love this keyboard but the squeak is killing me!
  5. Bought the Ducky with black switches and blue backlight LOVE IT! The led's are SO much nicer than the razer balckwidow backlight and the build quality is insane! Thanks you so much guys for all your help
  6. I think that I have decided on a shine 2 with black switches and blue backlight. I can get it for 25% off where I am and I think I will be happy with blacks because I am a very heavy typer, and I haven't had a mech keyboard with out the tactile feed back before so it might be a new experience. Thank you so much for all your advice and input! :)
  7. I have read that people don't like blacks because they find them too heavy. I personally have a lot accidental key presses and I often bottom out the keys ( my fingers are really strong as a result of me being a guitar player that also uses heavy gauge strings and picks) so I think maybe blacks are the best choice. I really liked the black that I tried because it had the smoothness of reds, but with enough heaviness to feel satisfying like browns or blues. The only concern I have regarding them is that because I am a student I do a lot of typing and many people complain about there finger being tired. On the other hand I already own a blue switch board (blackwidow ultimate) and a brown switch board (logitech g710+) so maybe my first venture into boutique style boards should be with blacks. Thank you so much for all your feed back!
  8. Thanks so much for guys for all your input! I didnt know that the yellow was dull, bummer. Well in that case i guess I'll go blue. Here's another silly question, what is the backlight like on the blue duckys? I used to have a razer blackwidow and i didnt very much care for the blue on the black widow. How does the blue on the ducky compare? Also ive heard that the blue switches on the black widow were slightly altered and i found i didnt really care for them. Should i maybe buy a ducky with blue switches instead of blacks? I havent tried any other boards with blue switches but i tried a filco with black switches that i loved the feeling of (not sure if it was the caps or the switch) but i hated the camo paintjob it had. Should i stick with blacks or change to blue? Thanks again :)
  9. Any thoughts on a yellow back lit ducky with that setup?
  10. So best bet would be to go for the yellow backlight?
  11. Thanks! :) I know my concern is ridiculous but I don't want to discover that the backlight is pink, and if I go with the yellow backlight I'm afraid it will clash. Thoughts?
  12. I have been looking for a mx cherry black switch keyboard that is tenkeyless. The Ducky Shine 2 caught my eye and I'm planning to buy it. So here is the question. The purple backlit ducky shine 2 caught my eye, and I really wanted it, because I thought that the backlight would go well with my setup I currently have my razer naga mouse's lighting set to a very dark purple and I like the look of it and wanted the keyboard to match(superficial first world problems). However, after doing more research I've noticed many people saying that it is actually a pink/ pinkish purple, instead of a more cool blueish purple. I've seen it listed on retailers as both pink and purple so now I'm really confused. Can someone tell me what the backlight is like on the purple/pink shine 2? I don't want to order the board and then find out that it has a pink backlight. If the backlight turns out to be pink, I'm probably going to order a board with black switches and yellow backlight (thoughts on yellow backlit keyboard with setup?) Here is my current setup:
  13. Just like everybody here, Fractal define r4. I swapped my case from a corsair 800D to a fractal r4 white windowed, and it is dead silent and looks AWESOME
  14. Welcome, I hope you like them!
  15. First off, I wouldn't say either of them have outstanding sound quality. I'm an audiophile and game with my sennheiser hd595's and an asus xonar essence stx, unless I am playing a game with my friends, in which case I will use my g430's because they have a mic. I would say that the sound quality is about the same, the g430's maybe sound a touch better but I wouldn't say that it is applicable. When it comes to headphones for gaming however, I would ALWAYS choose comfort over sound quality. The reason being is that I would rather be comfortable than have something sound better. I found that the earcups on the orion were to shallow, made my ears hot, and made my ears hurt. The spitfire usb card isn't anything special. It gives you the option of 7.1 like the g430 but I'm not really a fan of any implementation of 7.1 (just sounds echoey). If you can return the orions I would. That said, I do have big ears, which may be why I find most headsets to be uncomfortable, the build quality like an all asus products is nice, and they look outstanding. For me the comfort is a deal breaker, however if you can't exchange them I wouldn't feel bad about the purchase because the orions do sit higher on my list of headsets I have tried. I hope this helps! :)
