  1. So… I got it. Check this out…What else can I do? Am paranoid as hell, but should this be okay? Am willing to spend few hundred for a new case rather that then a fried 3000AUD card. Case is a Corsair full tower 750d edit: I know side panel dusty as hell
  2. Thanks man for your replies.. I guess I’ll go ahead buy the gpu then see what comes with it and figure it out then. Not even sure where I put my psu cables ughhh… if it comes to it and I don’t even mind if I have too.. do you know whether the be quiet dark pro 12 natively supports the 4000 series cards or not? Would this psu need an adapter if I could avoid using an adapter overall I would very much prefer that. Been looking at the 1500w dark power pro 12.
  3. Yeh I know i don’t currently have a cable.. am asking would the cable that the card comes with even be compatible with my psu? Am little concerned with it.. would I need to buy a seperate cable?
  4. Thank you for a quick and detailed reply sometimes I don’t know why I even bother with reddit… I got a LG C2 so it’s 120hz. My ultrawide is the g8 oled Samsung. 4090 by looks of it is double the fps even without frame gen.. I only briefly looked correct me if I’m wrong.. but I play almost anything, I tend to get bored and buy the random game so it will be worth it for me in that regard I suppose. It’s not like I’m buying it for one game. In regards to the cable… I got the seasonic-x 1250w power supply so do I gotta buy an extra cable or something? I know 4090s come with it but can I trust that cable that comes with the card?
  5. Hi everyone am considering upgrading from a 3080ti to a 4090. I play at 2 resolutions(3440x1440 and 4K) alternating between the two every now and then.. specs: 5800x stock settings with an arctic freeze 280mm cooler. 32gb ram 3600mhz think it was 3600 Seasonic-x 1250w Now my main concern if I do go ahead with upgrade is the PSU cable, is there one that’s 100% compatible with my psu and won’t cause the notorious issues 4090s have… and of course the most obvious question do you guys think it be worth it? Doubling my fps with frame gen and Dlss I feel is worth it for me with cyberpunk and starfield coming out in pretty tempted too…
  6. don't really see any setting for hdmi pass through to video. I'm seeing. HDMI Audio Out - "AVR" HDMI Pass Through - "on" -Pass through Source "Geforce RTX 3080" I selected this option but have no idea what it does.... -RC Source Select - "Source Select Only" HDMI Control - "Off" -Arc - "On" -TV Audio Switching - "On" -Power Off Control - "Off" -Power Saving - "Off" -Smart Menu - "Off" EDIT: i believe i've fixed it, not sure how exactly It may have something to do with the "pass through source" setting or "hdmi video output" setting that i was playing with
  7. Oo00 thanks for the advice, issue with that is hoping you can also help fix it if possible. I got a nvidia shield if I plug it into any other port other then 8k, it sounds like ass audio wise. edit: so how do I have both nvidia shield and pc to do what I want them to do? I use nvidia shield mainly for Plex but want receiver audio for pc for other stuff when I can’t be bothered using my headphones. edit2: now that I think about it I don’t think I even care about 120hz for pc at 4K, just feel like that is very unrealistic and I don’t plan on using the tv for normal pc use. I just want it for the occasional 4K gaming which is rare, main thing is literally to just have audio when using my pc while being able to turn tv on and off. I’ll try looking for the video pass through setting and see if it helps. Thanks for reply
  8. Not sure what part of the forums I'm supposed to post my current issue in but decided to post here as I have a good feeling it is some kind of a connection issue and has something to do with the receiver. Everytime I turn the tv off my pc display freezes and eventually goes black, then comes back and the mouse cursor disappears or instead recently I got a BSOD video_tdr_failure. right now this is how i got the cables connected hdmi out earc/arc port from receiver > tv earc/arc hdmi 2 port another cable from lg c2 42inch tv from hdmi 1 port > 3080 ti hdmi 2.1 port. 3080 ti hdmi 2.1 port > receiver "DVD" hdmi port(for hdmi receiver audio on pc windows 10) acer x34gs ultrawide monitor display port > 3080 ti display port how do i fix this? It is an oled tv so i dont want to be leaving it on all the time when im on my pc. Disconnecting the tv from pc isn't entirely an option either as I want to be able to 4k game from pc every now and then. EDIT: disconnecting TV from pc seems to fix the issue but as I said i would love to have the tv as a 4k pc gaming monitor from time to time. Also notice even though the tv is not connected to the pc, when turning tv off the pc ultrawide screen goes black for a second then comes back.
  9. Didnt see these replies on time and ended up getting the mg pro anyway. I have to agree though that the mg pro is very similar to the 660s but is noticeably better just maybe not 1000 dollars better... I heard the original Clears were brighter, to be honest I don't consider these mg pros dark or veiled at all, to me its just on the edge of being sibilant any brighter and my ears would actually find it to be sibilant. If what people say is true about the original clear being brighter then i can just imagine it to being pretty quite fatiguing for me, so I'm quite glad i went with the mg pro. I'm going to keep my mg pro am quite happy with it but if someone were to ask me what I would recommend I would just say get the 660s as the sound quality difference is not that big to justify the price difference.
  10. Has anyone listened to both of these headphones and can give their sound quality impressions on them? I currently own the 660s and am absolutely loving them, just wondering what the focal clear mg pro(black adn red one) is like compared to the 660s in terms of sound?
  11. Yeah both bios and OS shows total 16gb. Am reading bent pins can still show this behaviour though even though you see correct total ram but only certain amount is usable a lot of googling is saying bent pins. mall good thanks guys. May consider buying new cpu and hope that will fix it.
  12. Am googling and reading up on my issue.. finding out that it could maybe still be due to bent pins not going into contact with the socket properly or ram sticks are faulty(doubt this) edit: issue as in OS is saying only half ram is usable. Just hoping it’s also not a damaged cpu socket on the motherboard
  13. haha didint pulling cooler off.. however DID went trying to take cpu off the dam cooler.
  14. so socket should be fine? I mean upgrading to a non "G" cpu should fix the ram issue i beieve. Both BIOS and OS see total 16gb, so its definitely reading it properly. Its just stuck as "7.42gb usable" as if its using the rest for igpu
  15. As title says... Reckon the motherboard cpu socket is fine? I pulled the cooler and cpu straight out of the socket without releasing the locking latch am worried if mobo cpu socket could be damaged? I managed to get the cpu off the cooler but in trying to do so accidentally dropped it and bent a few pins. I straightened the pins enough i guess... reseated into motherboard and pc is booting up fine but im getting a ram reading issue. BIOS and OS shows total 16gb but it says only 7.43gb usuable. Could this be caused by the bent pins and how likely is tthe cpu socket on the mobo damaged? Was considering upgrading to a non integraded gpu CPU anyway..
  16. so how do i get it to show 15.3 usable or whatever? I've tried disabling the integrated graphics controler option but for whatever reason the setting won't save. Keeps reverting back to "forces" or if i set to auto is reverts back to "auto" when i try to set to disabled... When i set a specific uma buffer size value to like 512 it still shows like 7.42 usable..
  17. yeh dual channel installed correctly 2nd slot and 4th slots from CPU. I ran dxdiag and it shows graphics shared memory is 3798MB, I don't quite understand your reply. So even though it says total 16gb(7.42) usable this is normal and everything should be fine? What if i ran alot of applications and need the full 16gb of ram would i run into issues? and also if i upgrade CPU to say a 5600x which does not have integrated graphics i will not have this sisue right? One last question how likely is it that the mobo cpu socket is messed up too? The cpu was soo stuck on the cooler that when trying to remove the cooler from the cpu it just removed the cpu straight out of the socket that still had the latch down and locked.
  18. Having a problem where i believe integrated graphics is using almost 8gb of ram and I definitely have a GPU thats installed and working in the system so do not understand why this is happenning. Both BIOS and OS detects total 16gb RAM however in OS it shows 16gb(7.42) usable... I went into the BIOS settings and changed the uma buffer size to 512M yet it did literally nothing still says 7.42 usable. Update BIOS as well with no sucess, what am i doing wrong here? EDIT: also setting xmp profile doesn't boot properly. I got 2 ram sticks in dual channel(2 slots furthest away from CPU). While changing CPU coolers the cpu was stuck on the stock amd cooler, it was extrmeely hard to get it off and when i managed to get it off accidentally dropped teh cpu and some of the pins bent. I straighten the pins out and seems fine system is booting and everything but could this be causing the issue?
  19. where should all the fans go and where should aio go? thats my main concern. Thanks for fan brand suggestion though, yeah the corisar rgb fans for 3 of em are 100 thats messed up.
  20. Am considering upgrading my computer case to a 7000d airflow and am wondering what would be the ideal fan configuration if I were to also use an arctic liquid freeze 2 280mm aio cpu cooler. Also what are good case fans to use for airflow. Rgb and non rgb options welcomed. I want it to adequately cool a 5800x + gigabyte aorus master 3080ti. I currently have a Corsair 750d. While temps aren’t too bad I just kinda want a new look and as the case is on sale thought why not… At the moment cpu under gaming load hits max 75degrees Celsius. The gpu doesn’t go any higher then 70. Most games hover around 60 for both components. It’s really only the demanding games that reach 70. My current fans I use are x2 140mm grey noctua fans setup as intake in the front, X1 140mm grey noctua as rear exhaust, x2 Corsair 120mm fans on the bottom(not sure of model) as intake and x2 brown noctua fans for cpu cooler radiator mounted on top as exhaust. So as long as the temps don’t become worse in the 7000d(obviously very much prefer it to be better if possible) what is the ideal fan configuration? The cost of the case aside I don’t want to spend anymore then 100AUD on extra fans. Also would like the hear the ultimate fan setup pretending I have no budget. Just to see what my options are… just the cpu aio and rest as case fans no custom Waterloop
  21. I'll be using it mainly for plex watching has to be able to hold 4k content as well. I dont plan on watching any of the content remotely all locally with direct play.. will this nas you recommended stil be good enough?
  22. just opened up the plexserver pc.. unplugged all cables, plugged them back in and its fine now... MIght be a cable issue.
  23. HI everyone just wanting some advice on what synology or qnap system would be suitable for my needs. I will only be using it for a PLEX server for tv shows and movies. I currently have 4 mechanical drives all adding up to about 30TB, so I want something that is diskless and so I can just put the HDDs into. Preferably something that is available at websites below and under 1300AUD. https://computers.scorptec.com.au/ https://www.mwave.com.au/ I currently have it all in a separate windows 10 OS PC and for the past few years just been having nothing but power supply issues with it. At the moment all the drives are throwing errors when using windows 10 tools to scan for errors, but they seem to be running fine except for one drive when I drag files out of it to another drive it is extremely slow but when copying files from another drive to the drive with issues it is fine and fast. This has happened before in the past and replugging the sata cables seem to fix the issue but lately its just reoccurring more often then usual and is starting to get annoying. I'm suspecting a power supply issue(it is a cheap thermaltake psu) I've gone through maybe 2 power supplies not including my current one for this particular plex server in the past 4 years or so... getting fed up with this so was thinking of maybe just purchasing a NAS which I do not have any experience with but is much more reliable right? Please advise. EDIT: thinking about at least a 5 or 6 bay NAS
  24. another thing i've noticed... transferring files from the drive im having issues with to another drive is extremely slow, but transferring files from another drive to the drive with issues is fast... Waht does this mean?
  25. Recently I cleaned out all the dust from my home media PC which I use primarily for PLEX. After a day or two the pc felt very sluggish and slow(this has happened in the past), I opened up the back of the pc and just unplugged all the HDDs and plugged them in again and this seemed to have fixed the issue, this was about 4 days or so ago... Today I was watching a tv show and it just started buffering like crazy, extremely annoying so I decided to use windows 10 tools to scan the drive for errors(the drive where the tv show is on), keep getting an error saying "There was a problem scanning this drive, Windows was unable to scan the drive. Close this dialog box, and then try to scan the drive again". Never got a successful scan with errors or no errors for this drive. I decided to scan the other drives to see what comes up and they all came up with errors.... now surely every single drive isn't dying or actually has errors, right? This media pc is on 24/7 and has been for a very long time now with no issues just until recently all this started happening right after I decided to clean the pc, I don't really run any defragmentation on the drives, I simply just make sure I delete stuff off them every now and then this is really the only maintenance I do on them. I'm suspecting it could be a power supply issue, maybe the cables are faulty or the power supply is finally just shitting itself for being on 24/7 for so long? It is a very cheap thermaltake powersupply. Am considering a new powersupply but thought I would ask what you guys first and see waht you guys think about the whole thing. I need a power supply with at least 8 sata connections as well...
