  1. Does it matter whether it's labeled as intel XMP or AMD optimized?
  2. Like some of the people here, I've decided to upgrade my 4770k to a 5900x. However, I haven't built a machine in a while and I'm quite stumped on pairing DDR4 RAM and a motherboard. I plan on getting the ASUS strix x570-i (the specific is not a fixed decision yet, but I need a x570 for the extra ports compared to b550, but the mITX form factor is a must, so recommendations are welcome). Looking at the QVL list for this motherboard, 3800 C16 or 4000 C16 memories aren't supported. How important is following that QVL list for memory for AMD or is it like Intel where it might not show up on the QVL, but won't have any problem. Also, RAM recommendations would also be very welcome! TIA!
  3. Lol I'm reinstalling drivers... taking forever.. I love this so far.. Yea.. it doesn't ask for a cd key or anything.
  4. Be prepared to reinstall pretty much all your drivers if you haven't already... suggestion to those who haven't upgraded yet.. download your ethernet and video drivers beforehand..
  5. Microsoft said that you don't need a product key for a clean install no? You can bypass it by using your live account that is linked to your key or something like that 84% and configuring settings.. Can't wait!
  6. The full download file from the Microsoft link seems to work. I'm installing now with no errors.
  7. I thought the key was just associated with the one that's currently linked to your mobo no? 91% completed install.. dunno if real life or fantasy...
  8. I'm downloading to upgrade through the tool to see if it works yea. Seems ok so far.. 40% downloaded.
