  1. This ones an oldie but a goodie... the Logitech z-5500. If you can find one! The new 906's are pretty good as well
  2. Im pretty sure the S7 is water sealed. As such, its probably not a good idea to replace the screen yourself unless you dont care about the IPX rating
  3. I've had a sling-box 350 for about a year now and its worked satisfactorily up until this point. I use it maybe once every 3 months. Today I tried to use it from my phone to watch some TV and I can no longer connect via WIFI. Interestingly I can connect using my LTE connection. Just not my local WIFI connection. This tells me that the sling box is trying to route the traffic locally and failing. However the internet facing aspects of its connection must be working fine. Another added twist is that when I tell it to stream to a chrome cast, it works for 3 seconds and then gives me a connection error. It does not work on any mobile device when using the local WIFI network but it does work on my windows computer. I have reset the Slingbox, reinstalled the app, used other devices, added the local IP to the routers DMZ, and tried port forwarding. Nothing is working and im at a loss. I have searched the internet far and wide and cannot find anyone who knows anything about this. Please Help! Thanks, Elliott
  4. I know that there is no such thing as the best one. I was kind of joking because i really dont want any. But im having This Issue and the regedit isn't working. So i figured id give something a try.
  5. Im looking to stop Win Defender from running on startup and cant disable it via the regedit so im trying to find a antivirus software that I can use. But I dont want just any antivirus, I WANT THE BEST! So Im going to take a poll . Post the one you think is best. Thanks, Elliott35
  6. Is it better for the health of the computer?
  7. Whats the difference and why would I need a pure sine wave UPS over a simulated one? Im looking at these 2 UPS's from cyberpower ( 1 and 2 ) and other than the sine wave there is no real difference. I have heard its better for the PSU to have a Pure sinewave but im not sure if thats true. Its going to be for my Freenas computer
  8. because a seagate from 2008 doesn't seem the most logical choice for a storage servers boot drive. I reformatted the array
  9. This Bananna program is great. You dont even need the other program. And as long as 2 of the outputs are virtual you can have 5 outputs
  10. Is there a flash drive that is better than other drives for any reason? Price, quality, size? I duno im just looking to get some flash drives and dont know what ones to get.
  11. The only other thing I recently changed was the boot drive from a standard old shitty Seagate Barracuda to a new SanDisk (cheap) SSD drive. Im not sure what could be doing this... The Cifs Share is still working but I cant even get into the control Panel anymore its refusing the connection.... I guess Ill Just reformat the server and recompile the data from a backup that I have on another drive.
  12. Ive got a freenas server running non server components and its been working pretty well up until recently. But its now doing all sorts of weird things. I cant load the plugins menu in freenas for example. Im thinking its because of the consumer grade memory and mobo I used in the build. I run plex media server and thats about it . I currently have a celeron with a passmark score of about 2000 and its working fine. I would appreciate any suggestions on what parts to get. I need the cheapest parts that support ECC and are reliable. I have 6Tb of HDD in the server so realistically I need 16Gb or ram. Any help finding good parts would be appreciated. Thanks, Elliott
  13. i got it but have no idea what these settings are. its installed another input/output but gives no description of how to use them...
  14. Does anyone know how to setup windows 10 so that I could get playback in two (or more) separate pairs of g930(or similar) headphones at the same time? Would be nice for watching movies on the HTPC without waking up everyone else in the house? Thanks, Elliott35
  15. I set the DDWRT to 80MHz low low CH36 and I set the EA7500 to 80MHz CH161. I have another TEW818 with no DDWRT that is set to AUTO 20/40/80 CH48. So theoretically if it were to begin having interference issues it would fall back to 20MHz. Does that make sense?
  16. Also, its strange to me that on my new EA7500 i can specify 80MHz width as well as a channel. Whereas on the DDWRT router I cannot specify both
  17. If I set the Tx power low enough in DDWRT would I be able to keep the 5GHz band to 80MHz on each router?
  18. I think I answered my own question. For anyone else who is interested in this issue, I found this article helpful. But I still dont know what the extension channel is. Anyone have an idea?
  19. Ive got a TEW818 setup as a wireless AP as per this video. Im trying to change the wireless channel for each the 5 and 2.4Ghz frequencies as I have 2 other AP's in the house and would like them to each have their own channel. The issue is that if I have the channel width set to anything other than 20MHz it will not do anything but auto channel selection. Its my understanding that for the router to operate at full speed it needs to be set to a width of 40MHz on the 2.4Ghz band and 80MHz on the 5.0 GHz band. Does anyone know why DDWRT would be limiting me in this? ill attach a picture of what the wireless config page looks like below. Also, what is an extension channel? its an option that comes up when i select a higher channel width. Thanks, Elliott
  20. well, it seems to have worked.
  21. Whats Gargoyle? Never heard of it. Is DDWRT still the best? I want to flash these routers with something because the default firmware sucks
  22. Yea, thats what im worried about.... Should i use chrome or IE or edge?
  23. I have a trendnet tew818 dru router and they are supposedly flashable with DDWRT firmware. Do i just flash the bin file through the firmware uploader in the router? Seems too easy...
  24. I have that case and unless you feel like doing some metal work you should plan on getting a 160mm psu. Its worth it, its just an added headache that you dont need. Im using the Corsair AXI 860 and it fits great
  25. Not sure if this is the right place for this... But im trying to sort through rechargeable batteries for my headphones and all i know is that ive heard eneloops are pretty good. anyone have any suggestions? These seem pretty expensive. And these dont even come with a charger. Im not sure
