  1. I used to play on my PC (2080s/3700x) on my 65 Vizio M-Series in the living room, but have to get another display (family use the TV more and want to play more FPS, KBM). Looking at ultra wide ISP and VA panels, I am a bit underwhelmed by the ''quality''. Mostly no HDR, ISP edge bleeding and lack of deep blacks. I only play AAA games at ultra settings, with RTX, either 4k or 1440. Can rarely get much more than 60fps anyways. I like great visuals, contrast and good stories. Any argument against getting a Q60T QLED tv instead? Input lag seems decent at around 10ms, which is already much better than my M.
  2. I'm used to gaming on VA 10 bits panel with full back arrays and a lot of dimming zones... I might be stuck there for a while then, as bleeding is quite off putting to me. When the screen is suppose to be black everywhere, I like to have it that way. Since I don't really mind for anything over 60fps, I might just get a smaller 4k TV after all.
  3. Doesn't OLED present a high chance of led burning because of static huds? It'd personally just find a true 10 bit panel that can hit 1000nits. For me, HDR is a game changer on console.
  4. I feel that I might not be able to withstand that low level of contrast of IPS (about 900:1 for the 850). That and the black uniformity is... not great. Looks like lots of edge bleeding. Did you experience this with your unit? https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/34gn850-b
  5. Hi guys, I am about to rip my hair out figuring out what to get. I went through the tips in a sticky thread here just now, but that didn't help. This was my last stop. I went everywhere online where true data was collected (specifically Tom's Hardware, rtings, Hardware Unboxed, etc...). There is always a deal breaking category. For example, getting sub 800:1 contrast on a 2,000$+ ISP monitor. I know, IPS is going to give much less contrast ratio than VA (I covered all the basics, believe me), but you can get somewhat better from cheaper. All-in-all, it's a balance of what you want and you can't have it all, but it feels that I am missing one very important thing: experience. Unfortunately, we can't really go shopping around in my region ATM and anyways, the stores we have around don't carry much inventory. I guess it means that I would need to use some of you guys' eyes and comparative experience. In short, I believe that I would have a hard time accepting poor black uniformity and low contrast ratios from an IPS monitor, but I also fear the low FPS ghosting effect that seems to be common is slower VAs, as well as missing out on some DCI-P3 colour spectrum. In short, my expectations may be too high just looking at data. Here are some alternatives that I looked at: MSI Optix MAG341cq and the more expensive MPG Viewsonic Elite xg350r-c AOC cq27g2 LG UltraGear 34GN850-B Nixeus NX-EDG34S Samsung alphabet's soup and RG90 (way too big, don't want 3440 to play between black pillars) Predator X34 (can't find it anywhere) I almost bought a G7 to save myself some trouble, even if not Ultra Wide, but I don't think 1000R is for me. Anyways, I am sure that you guys are more familiar than me on all the mid-tier options. What I do, mostly: AAA games at 1440 running on a 2080s/3700x. Right now, playing on my M-series Vizio 65. Looking to start some FPS and the couch/controller is no more good enough for that. The Vizio has its flaws too, of course, but black levels, high contrast, HDR and colours are very good for the price I paid. Not really any highly noticable added blur at 60fps, or maybe I am not sensible that much to it. Taking that into account, I absolutely want to avoid extra smearing, smudging, blur from a bad monitor at those lower FPS. I'd rather not constraint myself at 60hz, though, but 100hz seems to be fine for me as a bottom threshold. Yes, I know that nothing is perfect, just looking for some real life experiences with those models or alternatives that are under 2,000$. I usually find something after taking a lot of time researching, but for this first monitor, I hit a wall.
