  1. K80 in da VM! FInancially good desicion? hell no should have gotten a M40 since it actualy has vgpu. and its like 79% faster and has double the ram per GPU.

  2. so apparently i have a SAS/SATA RAID card, i connected the sas drive with a adapter and it worked, until it didnt. also there is no sata logo on that drive.
  3. HOLY MOLY! That's alot of pcie and it's on my beloved Westmere-EP architecture. What motherboard is it?
  4. i will adapt the m.2 to a 4x pcie, since adapting slimsas to pcie is expensive and kinda confusing...
  5. 5 maximum. It also doesn't need to do decoding since its just media on a file system. No Plex/Jellyfin (I also tried installing jellyfin on a demi system and it's pretty broken...)
  6. The EPYC 3151 is a embeded CPU, compared to other EPYCs its kinda lame with 4 cores and 8 threads. The Gigabyte MJ11-EC1 is pparently a bourd from a mining server and theres barely any info about it online except for youtubers covering it as a cheap server board since it can be found at Ram-König for 59,99€(i got it backthen when it was 69,99). ALso since im going to be also using it over the internet my speeds are mostly limited to 100MB\s and from other forum posts of mine ppl told me to get this motherboard.
  7. I'm tryng to make a NAS with TrueNAS and I'm planning to use 6x8TB Seagate Iron Wolf drives(ST8000VN0022) in them. A part of it would be used mostly for media backup and the rest for general storage. For maximum redundancy I would like to use RAIDZ 2. My Specs for the nas are: Motherboard: Gigabyte MJ11-EC1 CPU: AMD EPYC 3151 RAM: 32GB DDR4-2666 ECC Sata/SAS Controller: Adaptec ASR-6805E Boot Drive: HGST 1TB 2.5"(HTS541010A9E680) Would this be a good NAS configuration for the purpose I would be using it for? I am open to alternative suggestions.
  8. i have dual x5690. but im in a mac so no overclocking...
  9. to be fair i didnt understand why he didnt. I have a Mac with simular spec(i just have more ram) and it runs windows 10 fine.

  11. I WANT A EVGA CLASSIFIED SR-2 SO BAD!!!!!!!

  12. i searched up Classified SR-2 on ebay and only one person in the entire world is currently selling one.
  13. I have a Mac with simular specs. Dual X5690, 128GB of ddr3 ram and a 1080 ti. I was shocked to see linus make a video of hardware from my computers generation or should i say one newer since my mac is a 4,1 with 5,1 firmware. I cant overclock it and i wont, im not going to risk the death of my beloved X5690 and apples design of it makes it that it gets pretty hot and i have no way of changing the fan speed. Macs are annoyng so i might get this board instead. Way more PCIE wich is all actualy x16 and im not limited to a 1080ti anymore. ##########################################################################################################################
  14. after removing it its now stuck in a boot loop. i cant even enter setup...
  15. That would be very problematic for my setup since I don't have engouth planned sata ports then... I'll try it later(I'm not home now)
  16. Well I already use the m.2 but there are slimsas i4 to was cables... They are very expensive for only one cable with one slot and I found one of these dual i4 for cheaper and it has 4 sas cables Too expensive and would be way too jank, especialy with a mini itx case
  17. could i cut the part of a sata cable off that prevents it form being connected to a sas port to connect it to a sata port? Im asking since i cant fit a 3.5" drive in my servers...
  18. I have a self made nas ans installed truenas on it but it keeps trowing errors. Specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte MJ11-EC1 CPU: AMD EPYC 3151(Embed) RAM: 32GB DDR4 2666MHz I also have a a M.2 to 5x SATA adapter.
  19. nope. you got the wrong board. youre probabyl looking at a MJ11-EC0
